I purchased this for my mother-in-law who is a total wiz in the kitchen. She absolutely loves it and uses it every day. I overheard her telling a friend how amazing it was and how much of a difference it makes preparing meals. The blade is super sharp and the bowl is rugged and strong. It is a great gift that will make the receiver think you paid more than you did.

This is a useful product. It is well made and attractive. When I use it I am glad to have it - I just don't use it as often as I thought I might. It is easy to keep clean, the blade is very sharp and heavy so very easy to use. I haven't quite figured out how best to store it in my kitchen so it ends up sitting on the counter.

When purchased the picture showed the mezzaluna with a deeper bowl and the description didn't have the word "shallow" in it. The thing received is definitely shallow: less than 1.5 inches deep. If the original was no longer available the order should have been canceled not substituted with some dissimilar item. I am very disappointed with amazon this time, they are usually better than this.

It is very beautiful. and the cutter is sharp. Don't bee fooled by the picture. it is a bowl with a sharp cutting device. It doesn't attach to the bowl. I put some mineral oil on it and guest ask if I bought this in Mexico or Florida. It looks nice on my bakers shelf.

I got this through a gold box special, and and am pleasantly surprised by the quality. The mezzaluna is sharp and does an excellent job chopping onions and nuts. You get the exact degree of coarseness or fineness you want. The bowl is of a dense wood and is quite heavy, providing a stable base. It's a great tool.
