I used the HS800 Nivea shaving conditioner with my Norelco 8040X with great results. For one thing, the shaving conditioner is highly effective in providing a lubricated surface so the Norelco head glides on your face. The conditioner has a nice musky scent and is similar to most men's aftershaves. I have used the Nivea conditioner and 8040X on a daily basis for about a week without ANY skin irritation, in-grown hairs, or other skin issues.

This is my first electric razor and I have only used wet bladed razors in the past. 3-4 blades you name it, I tried them all (Mach 3, Mach 3 turbo, Sensor, Schick Quattro) and after the first 2-3 days the blades get dull and my skin gets extremely irritated. To top it off, I have to shave after I shower or else the hairs are too stiff to cut. The Nivea conditioner works well enough that I can just use my 8040x in the morning before I shower and not run into any cutting issues.

Pros: The injection system is pump-action so there are no CFCs or propellants that contribute to "global warming", it is very easy to use and is very hygienic especially because of the precise metering system on the Norelco 8040x system.

Cons: Cost. Logistics-wise, the Nivea is going to be more expensive than shaving foams or gels but they rarely provide the same lubricating qualities as the Nivea.

Bottom line: If you enjoy using the 8020x, 8040x, or 8060x, the Nivea is an excellent choice for the wet shaving system.

I love this shaving system. I have the model that refils automatically. This is probably my seventh Norelco. I have a tough beard & soft skin. I think a lot of people are in the same boat. The dry razors just make my face & neck look like hamburger. This is fantastic. My only complaint, & it has nothing to do with the razor, is that I only get 3 to 4 weeks out of the can of shaving conditioner. I know it says lasts UP to 3 months but I'm not even coming close to that. I only press the despensing button 4 to 5 times during a shave & I don't hold it down. If anyone out there is getting more than a month please let me know the secret. I have had the razor 4 months & I am now on can number 5.

To save money I tried using my Norelco 8020x using a applied creme instead of the built in dispenser. While it did work this internal creme works so much better.

If you like using the Philips Nivea "squirt" system that lubricates the electric shaving process, you'll need to get more of the cream once your little sample size runs out. This is what you need and it has that nozzle that clicks directly on to the shaver. Hard, if not impossible to find in drug stores. Easy to buy online.

the nivea cream does a good job at lubricating the razor. i get no skin burn from shaving; can't say the same about previous "dry" norelcos. my only complaint is the size/amount. i would figure that the reservoir on the razor would need to be filled about as often as the battery needs to be recharged. in use, i get about 2.5 shaves from each fill while the battery lasts for more than a week. this is especially bad for the ".5" shave; if you forget to top up before starting, the wet walk to fill it up in the middle of your shower is no fun at all.

My husband received a Philips Norelco electric razor as a Christmas present, and the Nivea Shaving Conditioner accompanied it. We were unable to purchase this product locally, so we were pleased to find it on [...] at a reasonable price. It's a unique idea...the conditioner is pumped into the razor, then it is dispensed as he shaves. My husband says he really prefers the old-fashioned kind of razor. Maybe I'll get him a straight edge and a cup of soap for Christmas this year.

The Nivea for Men HS800 shaving conditioner coupled with the Philips Norelco 8020X, 8040X or 8060X Cool Skin shaver makes for a great shaving experience. This conditioner is just that, a conditioner and not a shaving cream or gel. For best results when using this product in the shower, stay away from the water stream or splashes. The conditioner breaks down rather quickly in water. This requires more of the product to be dispensed to keep the shaving heads gliding over your face.

I like the scent and when used with other Nivea for Men products they complement each other well. This item typically comes with a replacement cartridge, which snaps on the back of the latest generation Cool Skin shavers. The last two bottles I have purchased did not come with a replacement . Per an email from Philips Norelco, cartridge production ran out, but the cartridges will again be included.

The refill system is an ease to use. I have the 8020X shaver and have to manually refill the cartridge. There are no drips or mess. It helps to wait a second between pumps as it seems to expand a little in the cartridge. This will ensure you don't fill over the max fill line and waist product.

In addition to shaving my face I also shave my head. I dispense a lot of shaving conditioner when shaving my head. In an effort to same money, I now apply Nivea for Men shaving gel directly to my head and dispense the conditioner on my face. This system works well for me.

Used this with the Philips Norelco 8020x moisturizing system and it was unbelievable. Even my wife commented on how soft my skin was after using it.

By the way, another reviewer gave this item a poor review because he didn't like the smell. I think it smells great. But that's completely subjective. Now, if it smelled absolutely terrible of course I would take maybe a star but unless you are planing on using your shaving conditioner as your cologne, this is completely irrelevant. I have very sensitive skin and I had the best shave I've had in years. Part of the credit goes to the Norelco but still as conditioner, this baby did an incredible job.

This lotion does a good job of lubricating the skin. However I did not like the smell at all. Much prefer the Nivea lotion that comes in the pouches for the 7735X razor. The HS800 lotion smells just like the old time shaving cream for the safety razors. I'm switching back.
