Great Bargain - Review written on October 12, 2008

You probably paid extra for the cuisinart coffee maker because you like good coffee. This little charcoal filter is part of what makes it so good. I found them hard to find locally and saw some online for outrageous prices. You have to have these, so why pay more.

It appears to be what the add says it is. Charcoal. What else is there to say? I gave it five because it is made well. The price, however, is bordering upon obscene. It's charcoal, for crying out loud... and it's priced like saffron.

This is a great product to ensure optimum tasty coffee from a great coffee maker!
The length of time between inserting new water filters in your machine will depend on the quality of your water. You will know when to change them, because your coffee will start to taste . . .not as good!
This product is easy to use, and the retailer I purchased it from had a good price for it.

Now that we can find a good deal through Amazon, I am happy to keep replacing these filters. We can taste a distinct difference when using them. (Although we have not tried a different brand - I do not know if one exists for our Cuisinart)

Very inexpensive and makes all the difference in the world. We have well water and while most well water is better than most city water, sometimes you still get chlorine and metal tastes. So for me this filter does a good job at helping to keep this stuff out.

Filters just as promised, and even catches loose coffee grounds that I inevitably spill over the edge.

Have the grind and brew coffee maker, and it "will" work without them, and we already have filtered water available. But I added the filter in - and low and behold, the coffee is even smoother! I did check the prices locally, since shipping bascially doubles the cost if you are only buying two (I didn't need anything else to combine from the vendor). I found them for the basic price at our local BB&B... But I'll come back here to order the set of 12 now that I know I "love" them!

I live in Seoul, South Korea, where it is inadvisable to drink water directly from the tap. Unless, that is, your idea of a good time is to let a little amoebic dysentery cozy up and get friendly with your colon.

Okay, so, the water isn't ALWAYS that scary to drink. Just, uh, just most of the time.

Even when the water doesn't make you sick, it usually tastes like it's been funneled through an old radiator. Coffeemakers, generally speaking, don't include water filters because the brewing process ostensibly kills all of the harmful bacteria. But you can still taste the heavy-metal-goodness in every last drop of leaden java. Lip smacking!

Anyhoo, I purchased a Cuisinart Coffeemaker recently (oh, how I love that machine), and it came with a package of these little filter fellows, and let me tell you, they do the trick. Gone are the filamental-flavors, the taste of scalded electrical wire! All that's left is pure watery goodness, the clean, crisp clarity of two spic-n-span H's and one well-scrubbed O. Now, if this little wunder-filter can do THAT for the brackish dreck that passes for water in Seoul, imagine how much more effective it would be on YOUR water!

Uh. Assuming you also do not live in Seoul. Or, er, Mexico. And parts of Bangladesh. And most of Haiti. And also, maybe, Djibouti. (Although I think Djibouti's been getting its act together with the public water works system these days, thanks to macro-economic reform programs. See the comments section below.)

The product itself I have no problem with. However your billing process
I do. In particular shipping charges are not up front so you know what they. They seemed deliberitly hidden until the very end of ordering process. Until this is fixed I will not be useing your service.
Thank You

Improves Taste of Coffee and Life of Coffee Maker - Review written on February 07, 2007

Does a good job at improving the taste of the coffee, but more importantly to me is it also filters out coffee grinds that may accidently spill into the water chamber... a nice plus! Change the filter regularly and it will also extend the life of the coffee maker.

I purchased these filters from Amazon and am very happy with them. I really noticed an improved taste in my coffee. I think this is a great investment to help maintain the taste of the coffee and increase the lifespan of your coffee maker by reducing build-up from water minerals.
