we bought 2 of these 3yrs ago from macy's for our office use. paid full price of $200.00ea and both of them broke within a year. no replaceable parts according to the authorized service center and we had to contact the manufacturer for replacement since it's warranty for a year. they replaced both items at no charge except shipping. after a year, one of them is out of order again and wont replace it (out of warranty). right now im using a regular cheap coffee maker worth $25.00.

This is by far the best coffee maker I have ever purchased. It was a little difficult to get it set up at first as we were not putting adequate water in it but after that we were ready to have HOT coffee in the blink of an eye. The only drawback is it does not have an auto shutoff after a couple hours and I sometimes forget to turn it off. I can live with that to have hot coffee.

Hello - I bought this as a refurb. I was really excited about the deal and even more excited about the coffee I was going to make. I purchased fresh beans of my favorite flavors the day I received this coffeemaker. Unfortunatly this coffee maker turned great beans into hot kinda-coffee tasting water. I was so said to find that my deal truly was a bust. Thank you Amazon for accepting my return - and save your time consumers and purchase a different model/make/brand.
One plus for this coffeemaker is the instant hot water works really well!

I bought this refurbished about three months ago. The only hint that this was refurbished was the sticker on the outside box. It works and looks great. It is comparable to the home style Bun units, but this is a much better price. I like it a lot and yes I would buy it again. One caveat is that it is very tall and will not fit under most cabinets.

This coffeemaker is absolutely the best. Luckily our kitchen layout accommodated the height of this coffeemaker. In four minutes you have a perfect brew of 12 cups of hot coffee. My husband and I have searched for a no drip carafe and we found it with this Waring Pro and the instant hot water dispenser is so handy for that cup of tea or hot chocolate! This coffeemaker got quite a workout over Thanksgiving holiday as we had 30 family members at our house. With both coffee pots going, we never ran out of coffee. I highly recommend this product and the price was right!
Nice pot, but not if you have hard water. Now even less expensive! - Review written on November 09, 2007

Nice pot, lots of great features, but....

There's always the but. Our water is hard, we're talking concrete is softer. 25-28 grains of hardness hard. Fred Flintstone used this to make his tires hard.

I'd paid the original $200+ when it first came out. Within 3 days, the "add water" light would not go out. Calcium build-up locked the little metal float that senses the water level into the "add" position. Clean it out, back to working. In the 3rd week, the hot water faucet got plugged up. Open it up, clean it out (1" of calcium sludge in the bottom), back together. Within the first 6 months, I'd opened and cleaned it too many times to count. Eventually all the cleaning, opening and closing was too much for the unit and it started leaking.

If you have soft water, this is the best one you could own. Instant hot water, almost instantaneous coffee in the morning, 2 pots for lots of coffee when company shows up.....great pot at a now excellent price.

If you have hard water, steer clear to the cheaper throw away ones.

I purchased this coffee maker refurbished and it looks and works great. I timed making a pot of coffee and it makes it in four minutes and turns out great every time. The hot water spout is also a great feature for making a cup of tea or hot chocolate and not having to wait for the water to heat up. Also it comes with two pots and warmers which is a nice bonus compared to regular coffee makers. This unit looks nice in my kitchen and would also be nice in an office or break room. For the price you can't beat it.
