These sheets are extremely soft and comfortable. I put them in my guest bedroom and I was almost embarrassed to admit where I bought them and what I paid when a guest asked about them. She now owns a set of her own.
Great value - Review written on June 28, 2008

the price was so great (~$12 for king size) I purchased four of them! It is extremely thick and heavy, but yet breathable. I purchased 2 ivory (One for my mom), one coco, and one twilight (More of a navy.) Warm and cuddly, it was a good buy. However, after several washes (about 3-5) it has already started to pill badly. (The ivory one, since it's getting warmer, I havent opened up the other ones yet...saving them for winter.)

For the value in terms of quality and price, these are better than the Pinzon 190gram velvet flannel (Although those does not pill, it is not as soft, and it cost 5x as much as these.) however, they dont compare to the pinzon 200gram velvet flannel sheets. (Hands down, those are the best!)

Despite the fact that these are already starting to pill (for some odd reason, only the fitted sheet is starting to pill, not the flat.) for the price I paid, these are worth it.

I would reccommend them.

Luxury European 200-gram 100% Cotton Flannel Queen Sheet Set, Twilight - Review written on June 25, 2008

Wow, I didn't think they made flannel sheets like these anymore. I use flannel sheets in the winter for warmth and in the summer in lieu of a blanket. I thought half the thickness would pull away after several rounds of washing and drying but it didn't. They were that well made. I'm glad I read a review before ordering these sheets. The review listed several colors which differed from the advertisements. I wanted a dark blue set so I followed the review and ordered Twilight which looks like a light blue color in the ad. I received just what I wanted... a rich dark blue set of flannel sheets.

Very thick, heavy, warm, and cozy - Review written on June 13, 2008

I bought two sets of the cocoa colored sheets to have on hand for overnight guests. Overall I'm very happy with the quality. In our house we have Land's End flannel, Pinzon Velvet Flannel (the best), and a couple of department store sets. I would say these sheets fall squarely in the middle quality wise, but are every bit as thick and warm as my velvet flannel sheets.

Unlike some of the other reviewers, I was actually surprised at how little lint the sheets produced in the dryer, and I had no pilling at all. My biggest complaint is that the full size top sheets was about 10-12 inches shorter than a normall full size top sheet. If you plan on tucking these in you'll end up short on the top, so you have to choose whether to tuck them in or be able to fully cover up.

The pillow cases were exactly the same size for the queen and full size sets, and the dye was identical as well. I felt every color option on these sheets was a bit "off", it would have been nice to have seen pastels, or even bolder colors rather than these very neutral paint colors. But, considering how little I paid for these sheets overall I'm very satisfied.

Great very heavy sheets! Washed before using and I'm amazed at the heavy pilling. They're everywhere! If they keep producing pills at the current rate, there won't be any sheets left in another week!

Sheets are soft and they fit the bed well. There was black lint everywhere. I thought my floor had dirt on it. Fills the dryer lint vent too.

$24.99 was the price I paid per set. "You save: $105.01 (81%)

(The "Insert a product link" did not work for this this sheet set but, well duh, I would think my review would be right here via reviews.

Quality:
I do want to make it clear that this is one GREAT SHEET SET as I rec'd. my Vanilla set prior to receiving the Cypress and Twilight.
These are Royal Heritage sheets. The label is included on the sheets.

Problem:
Colors!!!

The only problems are the colors shown vs. colors in reality.
Thus, my 4 star review. Actually, that review is due to Amazon's photos and not the sheet manufacturer.

Why?
Another site, which sells the exact same product for a greater price, shows the colors accurately. (I researched the terms, "Royal Heritage," and found other sites selling this product.)

And, yes, my video card works just fine and reflects the colors at Amazon and other sites very accurately. The other site selling these sheets does reflect the real colors.

I haven't figured out how to contact the webmaster re: inaccurate colors in photos for these great sheets.

The TWILIGHT color as shown is not accurate!
I have not unpackaged this set as I am probably going to send them back.

The Twilight is a DARK SOFT BLUE.
Those of you seeking this color, purchase this set!
The Cypress color is a deep, dull green, darker than the photo shows.

As a gift:
At the price, though, I might keep them as a gift for someone.
Geesh, wouldn't you like to receive a set of flannel sheets worth approx. $130??

Washing:
Vanilla set and Cypress:
The Cypress color does not bleed during washing. I just finished washing that set.
Vanilla didn't bleed which is logical.
I rinse new sheets at least 3x.

Drying and pilling:
Only a few, loose type "pills" showed up. I wonder if they were even pills because they were so loose and so few.
I do doubt that these sheets will increase in "pills."

Dryer lint with cotton, flannel, etc.:
All flannel, and even cotton sheets, and cotton towels, will leave some lint.
Flannel sheets will leave lint for many, many washings, which is typical! Not to worry!

Quality and description as to use:
They are thick, warm, but breatheable sheets.
They are soft on which to sleep.
I've bought flannel sheets that were actually scratchy and thin!
Royal Heritage and Pinzon sold at Amazon are the best!

I ordered a Pike set which had great reviews but they are out of the set in king size.

IMO: This is a THICK flannel of the best quality.

Price:
See above but buy them before they are gone!
You will have a great sheet set among the highest quality flannels on the market for a low price.
Just be careful of the colors.

BAM also reviewed these sheets.

I have a set of the Pinzon Velvet, also.
The Velvet is thinner and absolutely do not pill. They are like a thicker, soft sheet.
I love them as a sheet but they lack the thickness and that "comfort feel" that flannel can give.
They are a "fine" flannel.

BAM and I agree on the use of fabric softeners:

I, also, never use fabric softener.
It makes the sheets slippery and slimy in my opinion, and softeners will make any pet hairs and other things cling.

Many do not know that when you add a fabric softener dryer toss-in sheet or liquid it will make your hair "flatter" as it is conditioning your hair!

Adding such softeners to towels make them LESS absorbent when used.
It wraps around the threads of sheets, towels and other items.

Softeners grab pet hairs and other things and holds on to them.
Often textiles treated with softeners will redeposit such nasty things back on to you when you use a towel, sleep on a sheet, etc.

Softeners will also coat a part of your dryers thermostat if you have the type of thermostat that measures moisture. Over drying can occur.
Research the use of fabric softeners. Read the directions for use of softners in the manual for your dryer.

One site explains that the following is a myth but they do explain that there are other warnings about the use of softeners:
"Fabric-softener sheets can burn out the heating unit of your clothes dryer and...."
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/appliances/laundry-and-cleaning/washing-machines/truths-and-myths-of-dryer-fires-306/overview/index.htm?resultPageIndex=1&resultIndex=1&searchTerm=dryer+fires

Those pet hairs and other "nasties" will rub ON you and never seem to leave a towel, sheet, or whatever.

Bathing and using such a towel does NOT leave me with the feeling of being both dry and clean!

One defeats the function of towels by adding fabric softeners and defeats the breathability of sheets and other textiles where it matters.

Suggestions for softeners for flannels, etc.:

If someone knows how to soften a textile for personal use that doesn't cause these problems, please share. We want to enjoy our flannel sheets
and to keep them soft and breathable.
Twilight color nowhere near the photo - Review written on February 22, 2008

Rating: 2 out of 5

after much research on the other flannel sheets available and reading their reviews, I decided to go for this sheet just because of the color. There were other sheets for lesser price with decent reviews but the color I was looking for was not available. When I opened the pack, I thought I had been shipped the wrong color as it had happened once before but it said 'Twilight' on the package. Its much much more darker and dull than what is shown - more like dark blue than the bright light blue shown in the pic. I havent even opened it and thinking of returning it so cannot comment on the quality.
Great for the price AND THEY COME IN BLACK!!! - Review written on January 01, 2008

I've been waiting for a black flannel sheet for 10 years or more & I'm thrilled with the one test set I purchased. Now I'm ordering 2 more. I've washed my first set of black sheets 3 times & they are dark black & don't seem to be fading rapidly. They are super thick & quite cozy. I'd highly recommend them.

FYI: I also have the chocolate brown & I'm not happy with the color of those. They are more like milk chocolate & not at all a dark or rich color. I considered dying them black myself until I saw that black flannel was now offered. YIPPIEE!!
SIX OUNCES PER SQUARE YARD--Cypress Queen - Review written on October 10, 2007

78 customers found this review helpful, 2 did not.

Yes, this is a heavier weight flannel sheet set. The Amazon product description states these are 200 grams per square meter. The package states 6 ounces per square yard. I calculated this at one time and the two are roughly equivalent, but not equal.

Color samples had not been posted when I purchased this set, so I had no idea what shade to expect when I placed my order. I ordered the color cypress in the queen size. I expected a shade of green. Upon arrival, the color could best be described as a sage with HEAVY gray tones. In low light the color appears to be a dingy gray color--not pretty or impressive.

While the sheets are thick and will most likely last for years, they are not as soft as I expected. They are in the okay range for softness, but not the WOW!!! range of softness. I have purchased the Pinzon 150 gram flannel sheets in the past and the 150s were softer, but not as thick as this set. Another comparison would be the fabric in a chamois shirt. These sheets are not as soft or thick as the fabric in a high quality chamois shirt. But, they are thicker than a regular flannel shirt. The softness may be a function of the quality of the cotton used to make them.

This set did not produce a huge amount of dryer lint when washed/dried. I wash my sheets separately and do not crowd my loads to reduce fabric friction. I never wash my flannels in heavy detergent. Instead I use a sensitive skin bubble bath (one cap full) or conditioning shampoo. I also don't use a fabric softener in the dryer. In offering softness comparisons I am referring to sheets that have been laundered in this way.

At a price point of $34.99 on these sheets, I won't be buying a second set. While there is nothing "wrong" with them--they are flannel and they will cover a mattress, they are not the SOFT luxury flannel I had envisioned.

Update 10-13-2007: I have purchased "Pinzon 200 Gram Supima Velvet Flannel Queen Sheet Set" in two colors-Poinsettia and Saffron. I will add them to this review as a comparison after they arrive.

Update 10-25-2007: The Velvet flannel sheets arrived and they are WONDERFUL--MUCH nicer than this set--MUCH softer!

I gifted one set of the 200 gram Velvet flannel sheets to a newlywed couple who have an 18" mattress. They asked if the sheets would fit on their deep mattress. I had to go back to my computer to check, but I also grabbed my tape measure to measure my own set after they were washed.

I also wanted to compare the fitted sheet depth on the 200 gram velvet flannel set to this 200 gram set. The 200 gram cypress set had a depth on the corner fitted sheet seam from the top of the seam to the bottom of the elastic of 14". The velvet flannel set had a depth of 14.5".

The product description for this set does not state the mattress depth this set will accomodate, but the product description on the velvet flannel sheet set says it will accomodate an 18" mattress. It seems like the corner seam would be at least 18" to accomodate an 18" mattress. I am waiting for the new bride to get back to me on whether or not the sheets fit their bed.

I also discovered a hole in the cypress sheets when I was measuring the seam. I had laundered them, but had not put them to use yet or I would have caught this sooner. The 3/4" hole was directly beside the seam--the fabric most likely got caught in the serger knife when it was being sewn.

As for the color on the 200 gram velvet sheets, the Poinsettia color is NOT the color of a Poinsettia that I have ever laid eyes on. It is instead a soft brick color-a more versatile year round color. The Saffron is a doe skin shade.

With the current price difference, this set is a better buy than the velvet flannel sheets. However, the velvet flannel sheets are MUCH nicer. You won't be disappointed if you wait for a sale on the velvet flannel sheets.

Update: I have discovered that Amazon prices are not always the best deal. Be sure to check the new and used section from other sellers to find the lowest price after you access the product page of the item you are wanting to buy.
