I probably was expecting too much especially at $9.99, but given the rave reviews, I figured I'll take a gamble. My first impression wasn't that great... It was so super thin, I felt mis-led that this was described as filled with anything at all!!! I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt though and laid it out to air, but still after days, it hasnt budged.
It literally felt as though it were two, albeit thicker than normal, pieces of fabric sewn together.
However, I really liked the size as it is a larger than normal throw, and this is a major plus because although I'm only 5'0 I find with the "regular" throws, I have to debate which part of me is going to be comfy and which is going to be freezing: feet or shoulders....Not with this blanket; I can easily tuck it under my feet with room to spare.
The "suede" side feels nice to the touch, and I'm a fabric snob so this is speaking volume.
Be warned though that this is super thin...and will not replace your regular comforter, especially if you live in the chillier part of the country! Maybe because I'm used to my 200g flannel sheets, heated mattress pad, and my 650 fill power RL down comforter? It sure wont replace my bedding basics!

I purchased 10 of these, some of each color early December of 2006.
7 of them I gave as additional gifts, one of each color I kept for myself.
First of all, do not misjudge the warmth by thickness, or weight. These throws are very warm and cozy.
When I first opened my three, they seemed very thin and I was a little worried. That worry quickly went away after sitting under one of them for a couple of minutes and I live in COLD weather country and keep my thermostat low in the winter time to save $ on heating.
The main trick I found when using them for the first time, was to put them in the dryer at medium heat individually for about 5 minutes each. This fluffed and softened them a LOT!
For the ones worried about how durable they are, and how well they will stand up to washing, I can tell you that you have NO worry at all.
My three have been washed about 20 times or more each, and they are still like new. No running threads, no loose seams, and my throws take a beating with the kids and such.
Bottom line, when they get back to $10 each again, I am going to buy at least two more of each color. Well, maybe less of the biege, because I happen to like the brown and green the best.
By the way, the recipients of the other 7 have each told me over and over how they LOVE their throws and use them all the time.
