SO SOFT~!!! - Review written on November 03, 2008

Its nice and soft, but I wish it came in different (larger) sizes including for my Queen size bed. Also, its made with Polyester it does not breathe through nor healthy as 100% cotton. Its nice sofa if you want to take it to the Stadium or back seat of your car for "emergency". It is good for everyday mostly out door use.

Sheds Feathers Quickly and is COLD to the Touch! - Review written on October 03, 2008

I bought this product last winter (2007) because of the many good reviews. I would NOT recommend it for purchase because it loses it's feathers *very* quickly and becomes incapable of trapping warm air. After one season and one washing, I have a very flat product that is 'linty' with feathers.

Also, the throw is made of a material that retains the cold temperature of the room around it (unlike a fleece wrap). When you first wrap yourself in it - BE PREPARED FOR THE SHOCK OF HOW COLD THE WRAP ITSELF IS! It can be very unpleasant (like crawling under cold bedsheets in the middle of winter) until your body heat warms the wrap up.

The size is good, but this is definitely *not* a product worth $20. The wrap is supposed to keep *you* warm, not you keep *it* warm.

These throws/wraps are fantastic! The soft, sueded fabric is one side of the baffled shell that encases the perfect amount of down for a super light, yet cuddly throw. I wish I'd bought more when they were on sale! They're just the right size for a quick nap, or to curl up on the couch with while reading a good book. They're lighter than down blankets (also great things to buy) and look great thrown casually over the corner of a couch or chair. I bought two-one chocolate and one sage colored one and found that guests love them too. I'm hoping for a sale soon so I can stock the rest of my house.

Better Than Expected - Review written on July 25, 2008

I bought two of these when Amazon had them on sale. I cannot remember the exact price now, but I got a good deal. I thought for the price that they would not last very long. I have had them for a couple of years now and they have held up well. My dog likes to take one of them in the colder months, so I have washed them repeatedly, and they still look good. A word of warning about these blankets, since they are microsuede they produce a lot of static. I wish this brand would make a cotton version, like the larger bed size down blankets, for that reason. Cotton would eliminate the static and would be more year round.

I wish I had known what a great throw these are and would buy more. They are not a bed sized blanket, but are great for watching TV, late nights at the computer, or even when watching sporting events outdoors. I wouldn't use it to sit on, but over legs or shoulders, it provides quite a bit of warmth.

Best of all, they are machine washable.

I bought one of these for my mom. She is always cold and covering with blankets even in summer because my dad sets the AC too cold. This blanket is lightweight and very soft. I think I am going to buy one for myself!

Pike Street Wrap-Around Comfort Throw, Beige

I have at least 5 of these throws and have given 10 away as appreciated gifts. I wish the price would come back down. They are wonderful, warm, washable, tasteful throws, but it felt magical when I could get one for $19.99, or - be still my heart - $10.99.

I ordered a few of these throws and liked them at first. They were a nice size and weight - not too bulky. The quality seemed to be decent for the (reduced) price, with just a few trailing threads. The reversible surfaces, suede-like and microfiber added a nice visual touch.

They're machine washable, but after a few washes they started shedding feathers all over the place, and sadly they had to go. I was washing them every couple of weeks. If you wash them less frequently they might be more durable.

Definitely not worth it at full price. And not worth it for me at the reduced price. It's a shame, because I had hopes.

this throw is one of the best I have ever owned. I love the "sueded" feel on one side and the micro-soft feel on the other. It is long enough to cover your entire body for an afternoon nap, not just up to your waist like some throws. And it is warm and cozy, yet not heavy or confining like some quilts or other throws I've had. I love it and would definitely purchase more in several colors for gifts.
Ack! SUPER thin!! - Review written on April 03, 2008

I probably was expecting too much especially at $9.99, but given the rave reviews, I figured I'll take a gamble. My first impression wasn't that great... It was so super thin, I felt mis-led that this was described as filled with anything at all!!! I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt though and laid it out to air, but still after days, it hasnt budged.

It literally felt as though it were two, albeit thicker than normal, pieces of fabric sewn together.

However, I really liked the size as it is a larger than normal throw, and this is a major plus because although I'm only 5'0 I find with the "regular" throws, I have to debate which part of me is going to be comfy and which is going to be freezing: feet or shoulders....Not with this blanket; I can easily tuck it under my feet with room to spare.

The "suede" side feels nice to the touch, and I'm a fabric snob so this is speaking volume.

Be warned though that this is super thin...and will not replace your regular comforter, especially if you live in the chillier part of the country! Maybe because I'm used to my 200g flannel sheets, heated mattress pad, and my 650 fill power RL down comforter? It sure wont replace my bedding basics!

When I took this out the pacakging I hated it, it was alot smaller than I expected. And I did not like the material on the underside. I thought it was cheap looking. But, when I slept with it that night, all of that changed. Its actually quite comfertable, and will keep you warm.

I bought this for a friend that was going to be house sitting for me. She's always cold and I thought she would get some use out of this while at my home and then she could take it with her. As others have said it is a thin throw, but it is very warm (or so she tells me) The feel was wonderful and the size makes it a great blanket to carry around. I purchased it on a Friday sale at $12.99 and wish I would have bought several more at such a great price. I will be buying some more though to keep around the house and give as gifts.

I purchased three more of these just a couple of weeks, or so, ago as the ones I purchased around a year ago were wonderful. Very fluffy and would "hold" you. I was very disappointed as the new ones are not nearly as nice. Rather flat compared to the older ones.

I wanted a "throw" to use instead of my down comforter. However, most "throws" were too short and many were too narrow to suit my needs. This Pike Street "Wrap-Around" Comfort Throw is different -- it is larger -- 50 by 70 inches. The combination of natural down & synthetic fiber fill works for me. It is light, of course, and thinner than down throws which I had previously purchased, elsewhere. I found a two-sided color combo which pleases me, as well.

I simply love this throw. I bought it at a wonderful price of 13.99 and I couldn't be happier. It is light weight and so soft. It is big enough to cover your whole body and then some. And the really good thing it is so warm. If the price comes down again I want to order for my daughters. I know they would love one too.My throw is the beige and I love the color very much, goes with everything.

I purchased 10 of these, some of each color early December of 2006.
7 of them I gave as additional gifts, one of each color I kept for myself.

First of all, do not misjudge the warmth by thickness, or weight. These throws are very warm and cozy.

When I first opened my three, they seemed very thin and I was a little worried. That worry quickly went away after sitting under one of them for a couple of minutes and I live in COLD weather country and keep my thermostat low in the winter time to save $ on heating.

The main trick I found when using them for the first time, was to put them in the dryer at medium heat individually for about 5 minutes each. This fluffed and softened them a LOT!

For the ones worried about how durable they are, and how well they will stand up to washing, I can tell you that you have NO worry at all.

My three have been washed about 20 times or more each, and they are still like new. No running threads, no loose seams, and my throws take a beating with the kids and such.

Bottom line, when they get back to $10 each again, I am going to buy at least two more of each color. Well, maybe less of the biege, because I happen to like the brown and green the best.

By the way, the recipients of the other 7 have each told me over and over how they LOVE their throws and use them all the time.

From the looks of the them straight out the the package, I thought it was a bit smaller than I expected, and too thin. I couldn't have been more wrong.

I bought several during a $10.99 sale, and I'm so glad I did! We have one in every room now. The thickness means nothing, they are so luxuriously soft and definitely warm!

The fact that they're machine washable is just icing on a perfect cake. I'm tempted to stock pile a few of these in case Amazon ever stops carrying them.
