Easy to use, does a good job. Would give it 5 stars if it did serrated knives.

Knife Sharpener, works great! - Review written on March 13, 2008

This sharpener works very well. It does what is says it does. You can't mess up the knife. The knife gets super sharp and I am happy. I have one complaint though. When I was opening the shell, the plastic guard (case) broke off, so I have to place it over my hand to protect it from a slip. This sharpener won't work forever, as it the "sand" will eventually wear away. I have had it for about two years and it still has some life left into it. It is worth it to keep my rachael ray knifes sharp-which are nice as well.
AWESOME! - Review written on March 08, 2008

I needed a sharpener for my kitchen knives which had grown very dull over the years. Since they didn't have any nicks or chips in the blades, I decided to try this sharpener. It sure looked easier than using a stone! It took several passes before my knives were sharp enough to cut a tomato instead of squishing it, but I wasn't surprised. They haven't been sharpened for years! I didn't count the passes through the fingers, but I was able to sharpen 4 knives in under 5 minutes. They all work like new! I'm glad that I took the gamble and decided to try the Ozitech Sharpener. Regarding complaints on the plastic guards breaking, I just took my time and gently followed the instructions. I didn't have any problems at all. As long as it is treated respectfully, I expect that it will last for a good, long time! I'd recommend this sharpener to anyone who wants nice, sharp knives in their kitchen!

Furi Knife sharpener - Review written on February 08, 2008

This is a superior knife sharpener. I have several knives that I thought would need professional sharpening but tried this sharpener first and couldn't be more pleased with the results. Made well used knives nearly as sharp as new. Works well for quite dull knives and also works well for a quick touch up on my new knives when they're feeling just a bit dull. Is far superior to a steel as it's difficult to get the angle just right when using a steel and you can't get the angle wrong with the Furi knife sharpener. It is also compact, well designed, and easy to store in any kitchen or on the go.

I have had several kinds of knife sharpeners from the can openers, to the electric ones, and steels, this is by far the greatest one and the easiest to operate, I am shall we say mechanically challenged and this did not take a blue print to figure out. I gave it all the stars it deserves.

I was expecting a little more, but this is still a very good sharpener. It seemed to be a "fail proof" type of sharpener, but instead it appears as though your results are reflected by the quality of the knife and skill of the person using it. This is the case with most knife sharpeners. I used it on one knife and got excellent results. then I used it on another and didn't get anything. All in all, I would recommend it, but it is not a miracle sharpener or anything. It is very handy to store and is much more user friendly than your sharpening rod.

If your knives are really dull this product is an effective way of rendering them useable. If you are very fastidious about your blades you will want to go on to a good stone and strop after using the furi.

I wish I could write a rave review on this product, but I can't. I will say the device is lightweight, has a great design and is easy to use, but I found the product to be ineffective on sharpening really dull knives. The directions I received with the sharpener also stated that extremely dull knives may need additional professional preparation. I used this product on dull old Chicago Cutlery and Henckels knives and received little results.

After years and years (literally) of purchasing knife sharpeners only to always end up being highly disappointed, it was such a great joy to find a product which brought me to the end of my searches with such a "big bang". I will never again have need of another knife sharpener, why? Because I purchased the Furi Rachael Ozitech Diamond Fingers Pro Knife Sharpener, and was so over-joyed and pleased with the accuracy of it's claims, with the accuracy of it's product description. It literally does "everything" that it claims to do. And let's face it, when you have beautiful knivies such as the one's I have, J.A. Henckels Twin Select 10-Piece Block Set and the Furi Rachael Ray 5-Inch Coppertail East/West Knife you really have no need of knife sharpeners that only lend themselves to worsening the edges of your blades instead of improving them. Well, you'll never have that problem again with this unique product!!!!!!!! Trust me, you'll be truly amazed, (I WAS, AND STILL AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Furi Rachael Ray Ozitech Diamond Fingers Pro Knife Sharpener
This is the best and easiest knife sharpener I've ever used. I have some really nice Wusthof Grand Prix knives that have been in need of sharpening for a long time. I had tried several different knife sharpeners on them with no success. The Wusthof brand sharpener actually made them duller. I used this Furi sharpener on them and with just a few quick strokes, they were razor sharp.
I highly recommend this product.

This is the first time I've ever reviewed anything, but I have to do it. I am a knife freak with all of the accompanying sharpening paraphernalia; but this is the best I've ever used. Highly recommended, even though I can't stand Rachel Ray. My Christmas shopping is done!

I've used sharpening stones, those little wheels with the stone in them, the drag through metal disk sharpeners....I could only get a sharp edge with the latter of these, but it always left a torn, and scratchy blade.

This is so fantastic! It sharpens and hones the blade to the perfect edge. I sharpened everything I own and now I will take my new little tool on the road. I'm going to go to my friend's houses and my mother-in-law's and sharpen all of their knives for them.

Diamond fingers wore out very quickly within a couple of months. The quality is very disappointing. Now almost all of diamond stuff is gone from the point whre most needed, and now it actually make my knif dull. Also my wife was able to tear off puny plastic cover on the side when she tried to open it on the first day.

I don't like the fact that Rachael Ray is cashing in, eighther. If you'd like a sharpener which will only last a few months of use, and would like to contribute Rachael's ever-growing account, buy this. I would like my money back from Rachael Ray. Good idea, poor quality.

So I have some very dull high-end knives. I was all set to take them to get sharpened for about $15 per knife when I stumbled on this odd looking device. The price was low enough that I though why not. Low and behold it works. Me knives are sharp as new - even if this gadget wears out the cost is much less than a professional sharpening - I would say go for it

The Furi is easy to use. It takes up little space when stored and sets up in seconds when needed. There's no guess work in properly sharpening knives. You don't have to worry about having your knife at the proper angle for sharpening. The Furi does it for you. A really great product and a great value.

I got this sharpener because my husband gave me a Furi knife set as a gift a few months earlier. I wanted to take care of them properly, and it recommends sharpening regularly. This sharpener works really well for those knives as well as some knives I already had that were still relatively sharp. Just don't buy this if you have dull knives. It's more to maintain and boost, not bring back the dead. The literature says they have a different sharpener for that purpose, but it's close to $100.
I also liked that it folds up small so it's easy to store. Only real negative was that the little flaps you pull down to open it are a little hard to open. Other than that, I'd recommend it.

Will sharpen a blade if you maintain proper alignment and downward pressure in the device's fingers. This is easier said than done, particularly with smaller knives.

I am very pleased with the Furi knife sharpener. It has brought my old knives back to life. After a few swipes of the balde in the sharpener, I can easily cut a tomato into thin sclices, not to mention cooked meats.

This sharpener works great, and it is very easy to use. I'm buying them for my parents and in-laws now. The clamshell case is plastic, but surprisingly not as chintzy as I expected based on these reviews. The only question remaining for me is how long it will last... the documentation says it will decrease in effectiveness over time but it does not specify how long.

This knife sharpener works really well. I threw away my sharpening steel that came with my knives! If you are as inept at using a sharpening steel as I am this little sharpener is for you. It will keep your knives razor sharp with very little effort and folds up neatly when not in use.

Works well to sharpen knives and is a simple process. Plastic case is cheesy/cheap and should be made sturdier. Price should be lower due to the cheap plastic case.

Product works as advertised, but I also agree with previous reviewers that the clamshell case could have been designed better. The side latches for the clamshell are the weak link in an otherwise good idea. The sharpener does a good job on a knife edge already beveled to Furi's optimum angle. I would purchase this item again but I prefer Furi's three-sharpener system (which at this writing (2/18/07) suffers from a manufacturing defect of the handle).

This is the easiest sharpener you will ever use. It works like a charm. I am not sure how long those diamond fingers will last, but it is so economically priced as to make it worth it to buy another. Everybody will be getting these as gifts this year.
