Best value for blue jeans - Review written on October 21, 2008

Rating: 4 out of 5

These were priced at only $13.50 a pair. I bought a total of 5 pairs (including other Wrangler styles). Shop all you want, you'll not find a better value. I gave it 4 stars because only Sedgefield gets 5 stars, but unfortunately Sedgefield, which were higher priced, is no longer available.

These jeans are great and the fact that I can get the 36" inseam is a real plus. Most stores don't carry that length. As usual, the service was fast and exceptional!
Awful... - Review written on August 01, 2008

Way too tight per measurement. Very stiff denim, not at all comfortable. I'm personally still much happier in a pair of Levi's.
Remember REAL Jeans - Review written on May 20, 2008

I've been wearing Levis "boot cut" jeans for more than twenty years and before that Lee "boot cut" jeans. Neither product measures up to their products of thirty years ago. The denim seems thinner and there are fewer belt loops. These "cowboy" jeans are still the "real thing" as far as I'm concerned. They're heavy and fit just right. I just ordered three more pair. They should actually call these "dungarees" to destinguish them from the lesser quality current jeans from the major makers.
Rustle Up Some Wranglers!! - Review written on April 05, 2008

This item was bought for someone else as a gift. The recipient loved the original fit and cut of these jeans not to mention the color. If it's orginality with a down home style you are seeking, then rustle up some "Jacksons" to buy these jeans!
Nice fit but whats up with this hard crease? - Review written on March 08, 2008

I really like the fit of these Wranglers. Used to wear Levis but they have severely changed the way they fit. I don't like what Levis did to their 505 jeans by making them lowrise and they also made the material much lighter weight than they used to be. So it was a relief to try these Wranglers and find that the material is heavy weight and they have a normal rise. The problem I'm having though is they develop a very hard unusual random and apparently permanent crease in them. They will also start to rapidly fade along this crease and they look and fit terrible once this happens. I have been returning them because this shouldn't be happening.
My Mistake - Review written on January 23, 2008

I've been a levis 501, 505 & 550 wearer for twenty-plus years and wanted to give Wrangler a try. I was unfamiliar with "Rigid" (unwashed) denim, and actually returned these jeans in favor of the Pre-washed (Antique Blue) version of the exact same style. I like them much better than levis. The fit (especially in the seat) is better for me, the construction is excellent, the quality of the material seems to be higher and more consistent in appearance than levis, & Wrangler's prices are generally better. Upon receiving my first two pair, I immediately ordered two additional pair. The 5-Star rating is based on my final purchase, and although I returned them, I would also rate the original "Rigid" denim jeans the same based on the overall quality of the product. After my original purchase was returned, Wrangler's web site was very helpful in finding what I ultimately wanted.

Great fit in a hard-to-find size. Only issues are relatively shallow front pockets and no fifth coin/key pocket above the right front pocket. Otherwise a great buy. Legs fit well worn over boots (work or western).

Pants are comfortable, and durable. They are really sharp in black, and can be worn to work without being too obvious that they are jeans. The Wrangler brand is very under-rated. They are just as nice, and hold up better than Levis. I highly recommend them, especially if you are tall like I am, and sick of having to pay $60+ for a pair of jeans.

I was originally attracted to these jeans by the price, but actually made my purchase based on the other reviews. These are well worth the price and I intend to purchase more. The fit, for me at least, is excellent and I am very pleased.
Wrangler Men's Cowboy Cut Jean, Original Fit - Review written on March 08, 2007

I am very pleased with these jeans, the sizing and fit is good (but can't comment on shrinkage yet) and the cowboy cut is a bit different from usual jeans (more trouser-like) without being extreme. Cloth and finish quality is good, only minor flaw that one leg is slightly longer at the back than the front, but I suspect this may disappear after use / washing. I think the relation quality: price is very good.
A Good Buy - Review written on February 21, 2007

Very nice jeans. Wash separately or with other jeans-the color runs for the first 2 or 3 washings. Hold their shape well. Fit well & are comfortable. Don't know how they will hold up in the dryer as I don't use one. A good buy!

I purchased the "Cowboy Cut" Wrangler jeans for my husband's birthday. He is particular about the cut of his pants, preferring the regular fit vs. relaxed, so I was a little concerned about what "Cowboy Cut" meant. However, I worried needlessly as these are now his favorite pair of jeans. They fit nicely and look great!

My husband does not like the baggy, bunch up around your ankles look. He likes the good old fashioned Levi. He's very happy with these jeans, I bought him two more pair. Great service, fast delivery, good product. Highly recommend them.

If you are used to Levi's, here's some help in choosing a Wrangler jean that will fit you properly. This jean is the classic "Cowboy Cut" that Wrangler has been making since 1947. Among the Levi's jeans, the fit of this jeans is most similar to that of the Levi's 505, which in turn is similar to the Levi's 501, meaning that it is a fairly standard fit, not too tight nor too baggy. It doesn't have as much orange stitching as a Levi's, the back pockets sit higher, and the rise is a bit longer, giving it a slight dress pants look. Unlike the Levi's 501, it has a zipper fly (like the 505) rather than a button fly. The so-called "rigid denim" looks a lot like the "shrink to fit" rigid denim of the 501 when new and will lose a lot of indigo dye on the first wash, but that's where the resemblance ends. The 501 shrinks about 10%, but the Wrangler Cowboy Cut shrinks less than 3%, because it is Sanforized. So, you should buy your correct size, erring on the side of slightly larger if you are right on the border. The the really neat thing about the Wrangler is that they still have copper rivets on the back pockets, something Levi's stop doing generations ago when schools complained that the rivets scratched the wood desk chairs the school kids used to sit in!

Note also, that the Wrangler Cowboy Cut "Slim Fit" is quite a bit skimpier than this jean. The slim fit seat is smaller and the legs are pretty trim--it's more of a boy's cut. If you are really on the thin side, it may work for you, but many men will find it too constricting in the waist and seat.

Wranglers stonewash finishes are pretty mainstream compared to some of the more exotic things Levi's is doing now. These definitely are not so-called "destructed" jeans. You won't find whiskering or abrasion the way you will on the stonewash Levi's.

Overall, these are very solid well-made jeans that offer a nice alternative to the more popular Levi's models. Like Levi's, they are well made and indestructible.
Not like the old boot cut jeans - Review written on March 23, 2006

The cowboy cut jeans are very well made, but the denim does not readily soften after repeated washings. Such stiffness is not all that comfortable. Additionally, the leg is not flared enough to fit well over boots resulting in bunching.
Jeans that fit!!!! - Review written on March 18, 2006

Finally, jeans that fit my 13 year old grandson, who is very tall and very thin. I searched everywhere for jeans that fit him and nothing worked. They had to be altered everytime somewhere. When I was searching on Amazon.com and found jeans with a 27" waist and 32" length and slim fit, I was thrilled. He never looked so good. Thanks to Wrangler and thanks to Amazon.com. I am happy and so is he.

I'm not sure about the problems the previous reviewer had, but my Wranglers arrived on time and exactly as advertised. They fit fine and feel great, very comfortable jeans and have worn well. I plan to buy several more pairs.
