Top-Flight for T-Fal - Review written on November 10, 2008

Hey folks, long before the internet there was T-FAL. I first heard about T-Fal about 25 years-ago, including it's reputation of high quality construction. Most people couldn't afford T-Fal 25-30 years ago because the stuff was extremely expensive. Today, a tight-wad like me can now buy top-notch cookware like this 5-qt Jumbo Cooker which use to cost $200 dollars 25 years-ago. This jumbo cooker is perfect for anyone who just got a new apartment or home, especially if you're strapped for cash. It does everything I need it to do. NO high heat needed, just low/medium heat to get your cooking on. It heats very, very fast and thoroughly (NO uneven cooking at all). I clean mine with ONLY warm water (NO soap), though I use dish detergent for the glass lid. Use wood or nylon cooking utensils ONLY. Clean always by hand, never use auto-dishwasher. I can see this item in my kitchen for the next 20-25 years. Buy it, you won't regret it folks!!
Great pan at a great price - Review written on September 21, 2008

I was hesitant to spend this kind of money on yet another pan. But, this one is well worth the money. It heats evenly, holds a ton, and washes easily and well. Even though it's only been a couple months,
I've used it quite a bit and it looks brand new. I love it!
Scratches Smooth Cooktops - Review written on September 09, 2008

This product scratches smooth cooktops. We sent ours back to T-Fal and they claimed we must have had salt under the pan that caused the scratches, which is ridiculous.

This cooker is terrific. It holds heat evenly, is big enough not to crowd meat, and is a breeze to clean. I wish I'd bought it before purchasing a Le Creuset. Even though they are both quality pieces, I find this one easier to use.
Very Nice, Great Price! - Review written on August 28, 2008

This is a very nice pan at a great price. Nice and large for cooking all in one family, skillet meals or browning hamburger for a large batch of chili. Non stick makes for easy cleaning. I would have given 5 stars, except the pan came a bit out of shape around the area of the small handle. Not sure if it was defective or made this way. The lid was a little dented, but was able to be straightened out. Fits ok and pan still works, so it wasn't worth the hassle of sending it back. This has become my favorite pan to use. If you are looking for a nice, deep, non stick skillet, this one is highly recommended.

Very nice, deep and cooks evenly. Wish the inside bottom was reinforced but it's a very nice pan. T-fal is the best!

I love this pan. My mom's always had one, and when I moved out, I got a T-Fal jumbo cooker that I had for at least five years. I (stupidly) donated it when I moved 2000 miles, and found myself in need of it in my new home. Well, here it is! I bought my replacement T-Fal pan at a local store and paid $5 more than Amazon's price, but I *needed* it right then to fry chicken in.

For the price, this pan can't be beat. Just be sure to use wood or silicone utensils in it and don't cook food on a high heat, and it'll last you a long time.

Great fry pan. Pretty deep, which saves on mess. Non stick coating makes it a breeze to cook with and clean, only takes me a couple of minutes. It is large and will only go on your biggest element. I do stir fry in it as well as it is so deep. Very happy and reasonable price.

this skillet is a great buy. it's light weight and deep and cooks evenly. also its non-stick surface makes cleanup very easy. i originally wanted a Rachael Ray but as much as i like her i was not willing to spend the extra money just for the name. this skillet is just as good and less expensive. thanks to Amazon.com i didn't even have to pay for shipping :)

Can't speak to durability as of yet since we haven't had it a long while, but it is of good quality and can't be beat for versatility. Everything from hamburgers and roasts to a family serving of eggs has turned out beautifully. No problems with the lid that was mentioned in previous posts. Can't beat Amazon's service.

***Update 10/08

Still one of the best skillets I've owned. It's proven itself over and over. Cooks evenly, cleans up easily, and after being used 3-4 times every week, not a hint of wear and tear so far. Great purchase.

My T-Fal set of pots & pans didn't include this jumbo cooker, but right away I saw we needed this. It's great for big batch cooking like chili or stovetop meals. I like to cook up enough in one batch to save cooking later in the week.
This has most of the features I wanted: extra handle so you can use two hands to lift it when full, non-stick interior, even heat base, glass lid so I can see the progress of the cooking. I do wish it had the red dot in the center to tell me when the pan is properly preheated. You need to use plastic or wooden spoons or stirers with this surface.

While this is an excellent pan and will cook everything without sticking. I was not impressed with the condition that it came in. There were big scratches on the handle of the lid that my mom (whom I bought it for) had to sand off in order to keep from cutting her hand. Hopefully this was a fluke and not a common occurence. I do recommend this type of pan for anyone though. It is EXCELLENT!
Made in China not France - Review written on October 17, 2006

Although this has the T-Fal name it is made in China and not France like the rest of the T-Fal line. The non-stick surface isn't very non-stick adn doesn't have the RED DOT to tell you when it gets hot like the rest of the T-Fal line. Definitely not up to par like the rest.
