Purchased this pan to replace a same-sized non-stick pan because of health considerations and all the favorable reviews here. This pan is solidly and beautifully made. It does make a very nice presentation statement and should last forever. It cooks evenly and has a special lip which makes pouring easy and facilitates the sealing of the lid, which makes chicken and fish turn out wonderfully moist and delicious. However, no matter what method of oiling, preheating, closing the lid, etc., my food still always sticks to some extent - probably this is the downside for healthy stainless steel - but the pan is easy to clean after some hot-water and dish-washing-liquid soaking. Note: the lid is solid stainless steel so not 'see through', but a clear 12" universal frying pan lid fits just fine... This pan is way worth it: it's beautiful, cooks well, is healthy, and easy enough to clean. The price is unbelievable. Five Stars, Excellent Value!!

Cuisinart has two different grades of cookware. I've bought a couple of sets and seven or eight seperate pieces of what used to be called Chef's Classic over the last five or six years, and I love it!. One time I mistakenly ordered a set of the cheaper lighter weight pans. I quickly returned the set. That is what this pan is. I ordered it, and I'll keep it, but it's far inferior to what I already have. This is not nearly as well made. I see they now have a MultiClad Pro line... Seems as if they changed the names.

i use this pan quite often, its easy to clean and is a good size for our family of 4, 2 adults, 2 teens. i can make a big meal, then have enough leftover for hubby's lunch the next day. it doesnt' seem to need as high of heat to do the job. the lid is really great, being so high-domed. it seals with the lid on, makes the food moist. the sides of the pan are fairly thin, the only complaint i'd have of this pan. for the price, its a great purchase.

I agonized over buying new cookware when I discovered I was serving my family's meals with a side of teflon flakes. The reviews were so great for the Chef's Classic line that I decided to start with this one. I love this pan! I have had this pan for almost 3 months now, and I use it "everyday" just like it said. It's really easy to clean, just get some barkeeper's friend cleaner. I thought the transition from nonstick to stainless would be tough, but it's been great. Make sure you use enough oil, or whatever fat you use, and keep the temperature lower than you usually would. I'm working on getting my husband to buy me more items in this line.

I love the whole cuisinart line. That would include the appliances as well as the cookware. This pan meets all the standards that cuisinart has been known for. It's beautiful and goes from the oven to the table. The price is outstanding.

I purchased this pan locally after seeing all of the positive reviews on Amazon. We used it a few times and then noticed that the inside stainless cooking surface was starting to pit. The stainless steel finish was so thin that it started coming off from normal use with utensils such as spatulas or spoons. This pan was made in China. I believe that Cuisinart's quality has decreased since they first introduced the Chef's Classic line. I returned the pan.

A few of the reviews have commented that this is very easy to clean but it has not been my experience. The pan is quite shallow so I get oil splatters all over the stove. After a few uses, there is a brownish tarnish on the inside of the pan that I cannot get out.

I used this pan the very first day I received it. I used it to saute chicken breasts. The pan can easily fit up to six. It cooks very well and is indeed like a non-stick pan, if you preheat it before adding your cooking oil (how-to instructions come in the box). It is a very attractive pan. I took it from the stove to the dinner table. My children were impressed. They said, "Mom this looks like a professional restaurant meal!" Good everyday pan and incredible value.

Our family is growing by leaps and bounds so I need bigger cookware. This pan fit the bill. It's perfect to cook 4 or 5 pork chops in, or fry chicken or make other food without crowding the pan so every thing browns beautifully! I love it! The lid is taller than it looks in the picture, which I think is a little goofy looking, but it works well, and if you have something really big in there like a whole chicken or a roast i guess it's a good thing. Over all, the bottom is very thick and great for heat distribution, the sides are thin to keep the price down and the pan light. I am very happy with the quality and design of this pan. The only reason I took a star away is that this is made in China. I did not see that in the description when I ordered it.

I suppose 40+ reviewers giving this pan 5 stars couldn't be wrong! I am SO excited to have finally found an excellent alternative to nonstick pans. I've been increasing concerned about the dangers of using Teflon-coated pans but have not had any luck finding a reasonably priced pan to fry/scramble eggs in. My other cookware that have collectively cost me thousands of dollars could not fry eggs without the egg sticking to their base. Well, this Cuisinart pan did it! There was hardly any egg sticking to its bottom after scrambling 10 eggs. I never thought I would wax lyrical over a pan but I just had to share this simple joy of mine.

As a first timer on a SS, I did not want to get an expensive model. But, to my surprise, even this inexpensive pan turned out to be a sublime purchase. I cook chickens to stir fried beef with veges on the stove, and prepare enchiladas and lasagnas. There are times that some food sticks, but not as much as I had thought. Cleaning up is a breeze - just fill it with water and wipe up the next day. Since there are no plastic parts, I can put the whole thing in the oven and roast barbecued drumsticks to a whole chicken. The cover is helpful in mitigating stickiness. As steam builds up, the moisture prevent the meat from sticking to the pan. As others have mentioned, sides are thin, but I don't think I'll get any dents anytime soon. And my stove's fires do not extend out to the sides of this 12" skillet. At present, I only cook eggs and pancakes on my non-stick pan and the rest is on this inexpensive, yet beautiful and awesome pan.

A little light weight, but does the job well. Searing on the cook top and then finishing in the oven.
Make sure you have oil on the sides of the pan as well, this area can be hard to clean after it has been used in the oven.

I purchased this pan to go along with my 10 piece set of Chef's Classic cookware. I have been so happy with the set that I decided I needed to complete it by adding a large, versatile skillet to the set. I have shopped around and have not found a deal even close to this good anywhere! This pan performs well and cleans easily. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

I purchased the Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Medium Dome Cover on 12/27/2007 and I have used it almost every day since ;-) so the name is appropriate ;-) Great buy for a very good pan. The thick bottom heats up quickly and it is an even heat, which of course, helps with the cooking, as you can imangine.

We have several of the Cuisinart products as well as a set of the Classic pans and we are happy with all of the products and recommend them to our friends. Which is a heck of a lot more than I can say for some other products I have purchased on line. But, that is another review ;-)

I love this pan! I bought it to replace a non-stick Calphalon that I used several days a week. The non-stick coating began to flake off and I decided to go with stainless this time. It was the right choice. There was a learning curve as cooking in this pan is quite different and uses a lot less heat. I made a casserole and took it to a potluck in the pan. Every single lady there commented on the pan and wanted one just like it! The biggest bonus for me is that it fits in the sink so cleaning is much, much easier than the long-handled skillet. It's worth every penny.
Surprisingly thin side walls and lid. - Review written on January 09, 2008

Giving it a three for thinness.

The base of the pan (a separate plate bonded to the bottom of the thin steel pan) is nice and thick, but the side walls and lid are _really_ thin. I guess I shouldn't have expected much for $20, but the picture makes it look a bit better than it really is.

I haven't tried cooking with it, but my initial impression is that this is not a good pan for a gas range.

I will probably return it unused, and try to find something with thicker side walls.

i bought the 14 piece set and added this pan. i still can't fry or saute in these without sticking. i find nonstick pans much better for this purpose still. maybe it's to cook, since everyone else gives these pans a five. i would give the pots a five, just not the frying type pans.

The 12 inch pan is great...but it is too big for small-family use. I gave it to my daughter, who has three small children with big appetites. I wish Cuisinart would make an 8 inch pan with lid, perfect for the smaller family. I'm very satisfied with this brand of cookware and have been slowly adding to my set.

We never could afford nice pans previously and the latest non-stick pans we had were wearing out. Also the non-stick was coming off in our food.... Not healthy!
So I decided to get something that was going to last and spend a little bit more than the "walmart special". What to get though was the question... The amazon reviews helped big time!
So I bought my wife several Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Pans.

My wife loves the Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Pans I have bought her. She has had them for about a year now and they still look and work great. She now highly recommends them and it looks like I got her a great gift that she likes to use and will last years.
Finally, I bought something worthwhile.

Magnificent! This pan is incredibly sturdy, well made, distributes heat evenly, cleans up just beautifully, with riveted side & lid handles- comparable / equivalent to All-Clad's version of this same pan ($200+). I repeat: This Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Everyday Pan w/ Dome Cover, at $20, is EQUAL TO OR BETTER IN Quality / Performance / Durability / Appearance / Versatility for everyday use, as compared with All Clad's version (which is 10 times the cost of this pan!). This pan is incredibly versatile and truly does go from stove top, to oven, to table, looking just GORGEOUS! To clean anything stuck on, simply soak overnight & rub with cloth & dish soap. I had the long-handled version of this pan, gave it to my sister & bought myself a 2nd of this pan- This one is MUCH easier to handle with the 2 compact handles on either side. Much easier to fit in cupboard, hanging on pot rack, in stove, on table, and in sink to wash. For $20 how could anyone resist this heirloom quality, do it all pan? Hurry & get yours before they're gone. Even at a higher price, this is a steal- comparable high end cookware is costing $200+ for a pan & specialty domed lid of this size. This entire Cuisinart line is just an amazing value! Actually I gave my sister about a half dozen peices of this cookware, various peices that I had purchased as part of several sets of this line, which I found I didn't use much...If you are buying this line, I do strongly recommend that you AVOID the pre-packaged sets, and instead buy each pot/pan individually, tailored to your own personal cooking habits. My sister is thrilled beyond belief to have the cookware I gave her, she feels very rich! She will use it happily & purchase a few peices on her own to round out her set. We are both absolutely amazed with this cookware's quality, performance, and gorgeous appearance at prices that are a fraction of other, comparable or inferior cookware. This cookware really is comparable to, or better than, any/all high end cookware on the market. All Clad is a reasonable competitor in quality, performance, and appearance, but costs up to 10 times as much! Hope everyone enjoys this incredible Cuisinart Chef's Classic Cookware as much as we do. (Cuisinart's newest line is tri-ply, which I think might include a layer of copper sandwiched between stainless &/or aluminum-?-unsure- which appears equally magnificent!...But might cost more since it's their newest line).

Did not meet my full expectations - Review written on December 11, 2007

This pan did not meet my expectations. I bought this pan with 2 helper handles thinking that it would go well with the Cuisinart pan with long handle that I bought 3 years ago and love! This new one is a nice pan, but it is much lighter and the materials are thinner than my original pan. The lid alone is about half the weight of the original pan. Both are chef's classic series, so I do not understand why there is such an obvious difference. Also, pictures of this pan show it with nice rounded rivets on the lid (like my original). The actual rivets look like small raised bolt heads on both sides of the lid handle. The rivets probably won't effect its use, but it is less attractive and looks harder to keep clean. I just got it in the mail and have not used it yet. Both are listed as 18/10 stainless, but the new one does not have that etched on the bottom of the pan. It is still a nice pan and still a good deal at $20. However, I would rather pay a little bit more and get the quality of the original pan (which is no longer available at Amazon).

This is really a nice piece just like the picture. When I open the box, hold it and look at the bottom thickness of the pan, I knew I got a very good value. Very shiny and beautiful just like a mirror. This is not non-stick but very easy to clean. Ever since I use All Clad, I have thrown away all my non-stick, analon, caphalon. You do not need to use a high flame to get the pan really hot. This piece from cuisinart is a little light weight (the sides and cover are not as thick) compare to the All Clad but the value cannot be beat. This is a solid piece and would recommend this to everyone. A steal under $20 with free shipping.

WOWSA! This is comparable to at least a $100 piece of professional grade cookware. It's just amazingly simple, durable, drop dead gorgeous, cooks on top of stove or inside oven, doubles as an incredibly beautiful serving piece, cleans up perfectly, side & lid handles are bolted on through to the inside...I can't say enough about this entire line of cookware. I bought this ($25!!!) everyday domed pan to replace a similar pan (also Cuisinart Chef's Classic) with a l-o-n-g handle- the handle made it very big & bulky to clean in the sink, and to store. This is a HUGE pan- big enough for stews/soups/casseroles/etc. The domed cover is very high, & seals perfectly, so you can use it to cook 6 or 8 ears of corn on the cob, or anything that needs higher space like that. Like all Cuisinart Chef's Classic cookware, this is constructed with an aluminum encapsulated disc at the bottom, which evenly distributes cooking heat from an electric or gas cooktop. It's also just PLAIN, gorgeous mirror finished exterior- the interior, of course, is plain stainless steel (Thankfully!- No more of that toxic & dysfunctional 'nonstick'), & will develop what metal industry experts refer to as a "patina"- that is, it will look like brushed stainless on the inside after you continually use & clean it. (Tip- Both 'Bon Ami' cleanser ($.89 cents), & 'Barkeeps Friend' ($2.37), sold in cardboard shaker cylinders just like Ajax or Comet, are gentle but very effective cleansers for your cookware. To clean anything stuck on, just soak your pan overnight). This item, & the entire line of Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless steel, genuinely looks & performs like a billion. (A million isn't what it used to be!)

I bought this at the same time I bought the Cuisinart 12" pan with the long handle - because you couldn't get a lid for it, and I thought the price of this pan with the lid was about what you would pay for a lid alone. Well, the lid fits both pans, and the funny thing is, I'm not so good at using the handle to flip stuff in the pan, and I wind up using this everyday pan (which is identical except for the handle) because it fits in the sink and is easier to wash. The long handled version won't lie down flat in the sink since the handle is so long, and I like to let the pan soak a while so it is easier to clean. The quality of these pans are great, and I love the results. I've been using non-stick pans for years, and I've become concerned about the contaminants in them and switched to these - I wish I had years ago. They really do work better.

I love this pan. It is a perfect size for cooking family meals, both on top of the stove and in the oven. It is attactive enough to serve from directly on the dinner or buffet table. The heat distribution is perfect, and I had absolutely no trouble with sticking. Fond developes nicely for pan sauces. I have a small stove, and I love not having a big handle sticking out. It is easy to clean, and such a great bargain I am ordering another pan to send to my daughter.
