We all loved this toy, easy to play and lots of fun. This may be too obvious but the off button is the BIG red, round button right in the middle of the game. Would recommend for anyone to buy!

I buy this toy often for my son because he wears the motor out (he has special needs and plays it more than the average child). The quacking is too loud, especially since his head droops near the speaker. Since it's the ducks he is after, I opened the toy and cut the wire to the speaker! This toy has recently been changed. The ducks are now small enough to fit in his mouth, so we are left hunting down the old version.

There are not many toys out there that can occupy a 3 yr old and a 5year old at the same time, and this one does it. This is up there with Hungry Hippos and Elephun for favorite games in our house. I've never had a problem with the game going off in the box, and compared to other toys on the shelf I dont find it at all annoyinig. They also like to play with the ducks without the game. I gave 4 stars because I think it gets boring for the 5 year old when played the way it is intended. Other than that definite recommend.

...for the 2-4 year old set. It is very cute, but I had to only give it 4 stars because it needs an on/off switch. The quacking? Between kids running around and a barking dog, the incessant quacking doesn't phase me.

This is a great game for little kids. You can't break it. There are not a bunch of little pieces to get lost. It teaches taking turns, shapes and colors as well as matching. I put the game away when we are not playing because the kids like to turn it on and leave it on. The quacking gets on my nerves after a while.

Bought this for my now 3 year old last christmas...Trying to put everything back in the box for storage was annoying...When you finally fit everything in the box and put it away, the slightest thing placed on it will set the game off and quacking... So we put the base and the box away high in the closet, and took the 12 ducks to the tub. They make great tub toys. We play can you find the blue ducks (we go thru all the colors), then she puts them back in, then we play can you find the ducks with the stars (we go thru all the shapes)...we have made this an educational bath toy. She is learning shapes and colors off these ducks, it's great! Every time she gets in the tub, she wants her ducks and to "play a game" with them...
My daughter loves! - Review written on October 11, 2007

I got this for my daughter when she was 3 and she loves it. She's had it for a year now and still plays with it. The quacking is loud and it would be nice to have the volume a little lower, but that doesn't bother me. Now if you put it away and put something on top of the box, it will most likely set the thing off and that's when the quacking gets to me!
There's not that much educational value to it, in my opinion. It does teach primary colors, but other than that the ducks just go round and round. But she loves it and I don't mind playing it with her.
My suggestions are like the others, softer volume and on/off switch!

My boys, ages 6 and 3, love this game. They play it all the time. The quacking will drive you nuts. I make them play it with the playroom door closed. The game we have is about 8 years old. It belonged to a friend's child first. (I say 'friend'. After a few days of quacking, I wasn't so sure she liked me.) So, I would say it is very durable. The batteries last forever too. My boys have done all sorts of things to this game (I was hoping it would break), but it is still in great shape. The quacking seems to be attractive to children. Mine like to turn the game on, then play with another toy while they sit beside Lucky Ducks. They like to put other toys on the 'track' and invent stories around the ducks. So, if you want a fun game, Lucky Ducks is a good choice. If you want peace and quiet, this game is not for you.
Great Fun for Our Daughter, But Needs Improvement! - Review written on March 06, 2007

We bought this game as a potty training tool for our daughter. Every time she was successful, we would play this game. Well it worked like a charm because she was trained in about a week. Now that she is fully trained, she gets to play it whenever she wants and she LOVES this game, and even sings the jingle from the commercial while she's playing. It's quite comical.

But...I agree with all the other reviews...the noise and incessant quacking and loud motor is so annoying. Milton Bradley really needs to improve this game with an on/off switch, or at the very least, a volume button.

We have no problem getting it back in the box. I saved the cardboard pieces from the packaging and I think it shelters the start button somewhat. But you have to put three ducks in each corner of the box for it to close. And avoid putting anything on top of the box or it will set it off!

Overall, I'm happy with the game. My daugher caught on really fast and is so proud of herself when she finds "her" ducks. It's a great game for a preschooler. And while I find the noise annoying, the important point is that she truly enjoys it.
Good game - terrible noise! - Review written on February 23, 2007

The game itself is easily accomplished and fun for 2-4 year olds. They can play with other children without supervision or assistance.

The reason I gave this game one star is 100% due to the incessant repetitive noise. There is no volume button and no off button. The only option is to remove the batteries. Any movement of the box turns the game on and good luck turning it back off. There were times that I would walk past the closet and the game would be in there quacking away....for HOURS!

This is the type of game that makes a parent want to drink after listening to it quack for great periods of time! I think ours was still quacking when the garbage man picked up our trash

This is the second time I have owned this game. The first time, I bought it at a thrift shop for my second daughter. She loved it. I think it was a little larger than they are now, but the older version had just colors on the bottoms of the ducks. The sounds were loud and annoying, but it had two batteries inside. One battery controled the "round the pond" motion and the other battery controlled the sounds. We found that if we removed the one battery, you could play without the sounds. I bought this toy again for my third daughter, age 5 for Christmas 2006. I haven't played it myself yet, but I noticed the sound on this new version isn't as loud and therefore, not as annoying. I haven't checked the battery situation yet on this newer version to see if one can be taken out to mute the noise. I have noticed that the ducks have both colors and shapes underneathe to make the game a little more interesting and a little more educational. My BIG COMPLAINT is the packaging. If you get this game, plan on buying your own box at the same time. They make it so that you can't repack it and put it away in the original box. This is why I didn't give it 5 stars.

After having played this game several times with my granddaughter,I agree with some of the other reviews. It is a hassle to try to get all the ducks back in the game box after playing, the quacking can become annoying and it DEFINITELY needs a power off button.I gave it three stars because it is a good game, but could be improved.

Simple enough game, kids like it.

Now, here are my complaints:
1) Ducks are strategically packed in the box, so you'll never get the whole game back in the box for storage without some frustration.

2) The only power button is a large button sticking out of the top of the game. Although easy for kids to turn on (but by the time they are old enough to know how to play the game they don't need an easy to use power button), if you put anything on top of the box that's very heavy, it'll turn the game on.
Lucky ducks won't stop quacking - Review written on October 28, 2006

This game is simple and easy for a preschooler to play but it keeps quacking the entire game. And if you stack another game on top of it it can also start quacking in the box. I played this a few times with my preschooler but decided to get rid of it because it is so annoying. Plus, my younger child takes the ducks and carries them around the house. Hard to play when you are missing a duck. If you are looking for a game that works on colors and shapes I'd go for Cranium Hullabaloo instead. It makes noise to for some reason is MUCH less annoying. And has an off button.

This is a huge hit for my girls. It's a loud toy at times but so worth the money. It was a gift for potty training. It's fun to play at playgroups and birthday party's.

We bought this game when he could barely talk and it helped him get started by saying stop and go. Then we expanded his play later with the color matching and taking turns. Still at 4yr old he still loves it.

The age on the box is 3 & up, but 2 yr olds also have lots of fun just playing with the ducks. The new quacking sounds are much better (softer) than the old one. The whole unit is smaller and fits into the box nicely. It uses 2 c size batteries, one less than the old one.
The Color matching is the same but now the ducks also have shapes to match too!

It's a classic fun game made better than ever!
