This item is worth the few extra bucks to not have to take a metal band watch to some jewelry store to have it sized with this tool you can do all that your self and readjust as needed
Very Easy To Use - Review written on October 03, 2008

I found this tool very simple to use and very straightforward. I was easily able to remove the pins holding the links in my watch.

Now this tool won't push the pin completely out, but it pushes it out about halfway so you can easily pull it out with your fingers, at least I could.

The two extra pins are nice as well, though I doubt it will anytime soon that I will be using them. I pushed it out wrong the first time and bent the pin but was able to bend it back into it's original position.

Overall this is a fantastic tool to remove the pins in your watch and is completely easy to use.
A GREAT TOOL! - Review written on September 25, 2008

I was hesitant to attempt to remove the links in all five of my watches - because of the negative reviews. But, it didn't take long to catch on. The arrows and lining up the pins really are the keys to the whole procedure. (If a retired 70-year-old woman can figure this out, anyone can.) Watches are always too big for my wrist. With this tool the problem is solved. And, it paid for itself after the first watch band was shortened.
Nice to have around, will pay for itself in the long run - Review written on August 26, 2008

Before I offer more detailed analysis, essentially this worked as advertised, and I've sized two watches perfectly with this. It's nice to have, and it's already paid for itself (the Watch Hospital in Boston does excellent work, but the cost per watch makes this product quite desirable).

Now to the less appealing points: the plastic structure does suggest cheap quality and workmanship. The height-adjusting knob didn't adjust the height at all - so that element was essentially useless. To adjust the height, I used thin shims to align the watch band with the removing-pin. This may be another element that could cause a pin break: poor alignment of the watch band height to the angle of the removing pin.

It doesn't take any great pressure to remove the pins from the watch band; a little finesse is in order here. You don't need a blacksmith's touch.

Ultimately, this is a decent little unit that should work fine for you - just be prepared to exercise a little patience and a light touch, and you'll be happy with the results.

I bought this for my nephew to size his graduation watch I shipped to him. The tool worked but he said it was extremely difficult to get the pins out of his Invicta watch. That may have been a testament to the fit of the band pins or the difficulty in using this tool. It was probably the watch pins because the Invicta watches usually have very tight tolerances. Shopping and shipping were excellent. Received the tool in 3 days on regular shipment.

This is one of those things that I normally wouldn't buy, but I got tired of having to go back to store to have a link removed/added to my watches. Came in very handy!!! Easy to use. Great seller!! fast shipping!

I bought this product to adjust a new watch that I've had for months. It worked great. Very easy to operate. I then fixed my wives watch that had been loose for years. Now everything is good in our household. I would highly recommend this product and have it stored away just waiting for the next job.
Horrible - Review written on July 04, 2008

The blue tool is horrible. sure it pushes out the pin, but only by a couple millimeters. So you have to struggle with pliers to actually get the pin out, which I did not succeed in. It would've been good if they provided pliers with the tool set as well since you actually need them to remove the pins.

Don't bother with this one, way overpriced and not worth the shipping cost

I used this tool to remove the pin from my watch band. How easy was it?
- It took me two minutes to do it;
- With a little care YOU WILL NEVER BREAK A PIN.

BEFORE YOU START REMOVING FIND THE ARROW THAT INDICATES TOWARD WHICH DIRECTION THE PIN MUST BE REMOVED.
I LIKE THE TOOL AND I NEVER THOUGHT IT IS SO EASY TO DO WHAT THE WATCH GUYS CHARGE $10!

This is really awesome and it works like a charm. Take your watch to a jeweler or even a pawn shop he is going to charge you 5-10 dollars to do this and you can do it yourself so easily. Just line up the pin and twist and off it comes ! presto...

This watch band tool was very easy to use. I had no problem pushing the pins out with the tool to remove four links from my new Tissot watch. I pushed them out in the direction of the arrows engraved in the band. When I was done, I just reinserted the pins BACKWARDS into the holes by hand and then used the tool to make them flush with the band.

Worked just as expected. You have to be careful and make sure everything is lined up before turning the handle to remove the friction pins... but that should be expected. Highly recommend this product. Now... does anyone know where I can find new friction pins? I hate putting the old ones back in... maybe its just me but I can't imagine they're good for many removals... hehe

This worked well and I now have two watch bands that fit properly instead of hanging off my wrist like some bangle :)

There's a little jiggling necessary to line everything up correctly, and as long as you take care that the alignment is right before beginning to apply pressure by turning the screw, I don't see any reason why this should not give years of use.

It is nice to be able to not have to run to the store to get the band adjusted. The screw mechanism gave me very fine control. Watch pins pop out without problem, but just far enough to remove easily. Why pay more? It just works.

I recieved the product in a timely manner. It works well even though the height adjustment is basically useless. It does remove the pins efficiently once you figure out how to line the band up correctly.

Threw mine away - Review written on March 16, 2008

I threw mine away. It is barely wide enough to handle a 22mm wide bracelet, but I needed to remove the pin next to the clasp - and the clasp made it impossible to align the pin. Also, another model I once owned had a spring-loaded platform so you could align the hole vertically. This one does not, and it makes it hard to get a good alignment.

This is the third one of similar design I've owned (the pins on all of them will break from time to time), and it is by far the worst design.

Great tool but lacks Instructions - Review written on March 01, 2008

Works as advertised for its primary function of removing the pins in watch bracelets so that resizing / removal of links can be done.

But the tool lacks a good instruction manual on how to use it. There are some features, knobs, holes etc... in that tool that I dont know how to use.

A good little tool. I, of course, had 1 watch band that was to big and annoyed that a watch store wanted to charge me $15 to remove a couple links. This worked great! I don't know about durability, I just got it.

Best price on the highest rated tool (on Amazon) that I could find to resize my Invicta watch. Was delivered on time, in new condition, with the two extra pins as advertised.

Simplay lay your watch band across the tool, line up the pin, and twist to remove the link pin from your band. As noted in other reviews, check your watch carefully for directional arrows indicating which direction to push the link pins out. Failure to do so will result in damage to your watch, the tool, or both. If used correctly, this tool is wonderful!

Okay, it is a simple tool. It is not of the highest quality.

However, using it ONCE - I saved adjustment fees that more than offeset purchase price and shipping.

It did NOT break, I will use it again in the future with no additional cost.

I am pleased!

Some of my watches were too thick to fit, so I had to remove the base platform and hold the watch still to use the pin remover. In spite of the awkwardness, it worked eventually on every watch I had. The little pusher pin is a bit bent after doing 5 watches. Just make sure you're pushing the pin in the correct direction and that you're lined up and this tool will work.

After reading some of the negative reviews, I worried that I had ordered the wrong product.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well the device worked. Slip the watch over. Twist the knob. Out pops the pin. It takes very, very little pressure.

For the reviewers who said that the unit broke, or that they twisted as hard as they could but just couldn't get it to work, they were probably pushing the pin the worng direction. The pins in each link all go one way.

If you're twisitng hard, flip the watch over and try the other side.

Heavy Duty Watch Band Tool Link Pin Remover for Bracelet Adjustments Watch Sizing Repair Fix with TWO (2) EXTRA PINS

It does work with some care - Review written on November 10, 2007

Rating: 2 out of 5

I got two of these when I accidently double ordered the kit it was in and I only got one extra pin in each took kit. The little gray unit from Paylak is what I liked better. This blue unit does work and with care I've removed band pins without breaking either the watch or the tool. The tool's components are loosely fitted but do work. For the couple bucks it takes to get it you can do a fine job but take your time. Do not expect jeweler quality while using this thing as the alignment for the push pin is not secure and requires care to use it properly. I would make sure you get some extra pins and proceed slowly. On the other hand the vender is great and has lots of other good stuff.
