Love, love, love, love, love it! - Review written on May 15, 2008
Rating: 5 out of 5
Recently I decided to get new fragrances to replace my old stand-bys -- Clinique Happy and Davidoff Cool Water. I read reviews, got samples, & enlisted sales reps. Still not finding the *right* fragrance, I tried this on a lark and loved it!
It is a clean, light fragrance. The florals are not too over-powering. The EDP also lasts a long time. I couldn't be happier with this choice.
PS - I also wear Burberry Brit & Lavin Oxygene, and I have Escada Magnetism & Fendi Palazzo on my wishlist. Shi is by far my favorite!
Update - I found the 1-oz version at a local TJMAxx for $10. Just FYI if you're interested in trying at a nice price.
Soft and feminine fragrance, stays on all day. - Review written on January 11, 2007

I use Chanel Allure, DKNY Be Delicious, Michael Kors Michael regularly and Shi is fast becming my regular scent too. I needed a fragrance that worked well for day wear and would not over-power people around me yet stayed on all day. Shi works perfectly - it's a modern and clean scent - floral with musky undertones, very soft and feminine but strong enough to linger all day. Just to give you an idea of similar "blue" fragrances there is D&G Light Blue which is great for day wear but a little too light for me, and also Davidoff's Cool water which is fresh but a little less floral than Shi. Shi works perfectly for me, and I love the composition, it has a very calming effect on me.
Top Notes- Water Lily, Fig Leaves.
Middle Notes - Orange Blossom, Fragipani.
Base Notes - Water Musks, Silver Birch
The perfume bottle shaped like a droplet of water balances all aspects of yin very well - metal, wood and water in its design. It even has a dark wood base to rest it on. The companion perfume is Hei (the yang elements) which is for men. This perfume is available for a great price here on Amazon, it's more expensive everywhere else I've seen it.
Classically Modern, Subtle and Fresh - Review written on October 22, 2006

Shi, the fragrance by noted designer Alfred Sung, is reminiscent of his total design philosophy which is classically modern, whether it be clothing, watches or small leather goods. This fragrance is subtle, fresh with a blend of Water Lily and Fig Leaves. Complementing the initial impression is a composition of Orange Blossom and Frangipani, resulting in a soft feminine
scent.
As one would expect the packaging, both bottle and box, is elegant simplicity. Utilizing three of nature's elements, wood, water, and metal, Sung has created a beautiful design. The bottle, a perfectly rounded glass rests on a dark wood base. On top of the cap is the Chinese symbol for water. Viewed as a whole, the bottle reminds one of a perfect drop of water.
The box is a pale blue with the Chinese water symbol on the top panel.
This fragrance would certainly be appropriate for day or evening.
