If you have an Xbox 360 Elite, you're going to need 2 or more of these - Review written on September 11, 2008

This is a given, if you own an Xbox 360, buy these battery packs. I know we can complain how they should come with the system, and having to purchase them is a ripoff. Seeing how Sony's controller comes already with a rechargeable battery within it. However, unlike the shameless ripoff that is the $180 Xbox 360 120GB hard drive, the $12 price for this handy item isn't so bad.
For me, I usually replace them once a week, and I'm a moderate gamer. It has no effect on my gaming though, cause it only takes an hour or 2 to charge on the charger, also sold separately. They are easy to swap in an out, just a click and swap. As far as longevity, we have had the white ones since the first Xbox 360 came out. Meaning, we have never had to throw any of these out in two plus years. Just imagine the cost of batteries, and the impact on environment that would have if you chose not to get this. Sorry to get preachy, we live in Portland after all.
Great at first, but begins to diminish. - Review written on May 25, 2008

Like most people who own a 360, I got tired of constantly switching out dead batteries. I looked for an alternative and eventually settled on the Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack.
At first, it was a great decision. It worked like a charm. Only needed about an hour to charge and it lasted for a good 20 hours, give or take. This was much better than always buying new batteries to replace the old ones.
That only lasted a year though. After that, the time between charges began to shorten. It soon became apparent to me that with each charge, the lifespan of the charge was shrinking. Currently, my battery pack only lasts for about 2 hours and dies. It's very frustrating when I sit down to play and only after about five to ten minutes, I discover the battery needs to be charged up yet AGAIN.
For anyone looking for an alternative to just swapping batteries, you should look elsewhere. Unless you don't mind buying more than one battery pack, this isn't for you. This isn't the worst choice, but there are better things than this.
