Precisely what it claims to be - Review written on November 30, 2007

If you read the product description and then you buy and use these pots, you will realise that they are *precisely* what their description claims that they are. In addition to that, shipment was fast and delivery was faster. And the color, oh I just love it.
The inner non-stick layer doesn't require *any* greasing of any sort. Every food turns out just perfect! They do, however, take some time to heat up (but that's because of the outer lining physical characteristics... it heats up slowly, and it cools down slowly... it's porcelain, and it works the way it is supposed to be, it's NO FLAW) and some more time to distribute the heat evenly (again it's NO FLAW, it's because of how these pots are anodized between the porcelain and the teflon... timings resemble the one you get while cooking on an electric stove). Also, cleaning is very very easy, since nothing (no-thing) sticks to these pots.
If you don't have the patience that cooking requires stay away from these pots... microwave ovens are a great invention... use one.
Kitchenaid cookware set - Review written on November 08, 2007

I have Kitchenaid mixers, both stand and hand), food processor (which I love), blender, two toasters, knife set, a 12-cup coffeemaker, and a set of cookware all in red!! This is the first Kitchenaid product with which I have not been completely satisfied. When I found this one on sale, I bought it for the 12" skillet. I had planned to give the other pieces as gifts. I was disappointed that the pieces were not as heavy as my other cookware. The 12" skillet "bucked" (raised in the middle) when it was heated. It didn't stay flat on the eye. If I had not already been using the original set, I might have been satisfied with it.
Oops... not safe for smoothtops - Review written on April 20, 2007

I just love this set, but buried in the paperwork is a warning that it, like all enameled cookware, is not suitable for use on smoothtop (ceramic/glass) ranges. If the pans overheat (e.g., boil dry), the enamel can melt off and become ONE with the cooktop surface. For my range, that'd be a $400-800 mistake.
I don't THINK the pan-vs.-smoothtop information was readily available in the product description... had I known, I could easily have picked up the very similar hard anodized or stainless versions instead!
For now, I'm paying REALLY close attention while cooking, but I might have to sell these lovely red pans and pick up safer ones.
Looks Great - Review written on March 19, 2007

We ordered these for Christmas. We chose Kitchenaid, since we assumed it was THE brand, and they were going to look great in our kitchen hanging above the island from a rack.
After using them for about 3 months, I am very disappointed in the quality. The bottoms are very thin. I have never burned so much oatmeal in my life. Frying is a pain, since the heat spreads very uneven. Actually, the bottom of the large frying pan is no longer flat, which does not help with good results.
We purchased the matching large sautee pan seperately. It's much heavier, and the cooking results are much better.
Another issue is that on the more frequently used items some of the black color on the bottom has rubbed off, and the red is starting to be banged up. It appreas the finish is not inteded for heavy use.
If you're looking for kitchen decorations, this set is right for you. In case you are planning to do "Gourmet" cooking, do yourself a favor and keep looking.
The rubberized handles have eliminated the need for potholders. The stailess steel lids are great, since we can have them sitting on top of the rack and use them without being concerend about them breaking (most sets seem to come with glass lids).

This is a great set. Among other things, you can cook on lower heat settings with it than with cheaper alternatives because these pots and pans do such a good job of distributing heat.
I noticed that someone said these could not be used on glass or ceramic stovetops and I wanted to clarify--if you use high heat (which you're advised not to do in any event), let a pot boil dry, or leave an empty pot on a hot burner, the red enamel can fuse with the top. All you need, then, is some common sense and a trivet, and you don't need to worry about this hazard.
It is also worth noting that the lids are dishwasher safe. Yes, the pots are not, but I have yet to meet a nonstick pot that really was. All the regular rules of nonstick cookware apply--use plastic utensils only, don't cook with your pet bird in the kitchen, et cetera.
All in all, a lovely set sure to last a long time with the right care--and a great bargain.
