This is one of the most well written and arranged gospel CD's I have heard in a long time. Yolonda Adams has one of the most beautiful and soothing voices of our time. This CD has a mixture of slow and uptempo gospel hits. Some have a jazzy feel and some make you want to jump to your feet and shout, Hallelujah!!! At any rate if you can't find a song on this CD to help you through whatever situation you may be going through whether you are Christian or not than I don't know what to tell you.

There are no other words to describe this CD. God has truly used Yolanda to minister to my soul and heart through her music. My favorite is "This to Shall Pass". I was really going through some things at the time I purchased the CD and hearing this song was just a conformation to what the Lord had been trying to tell me. Praise God!! I love truly every song on this CD. Very Very Well Done!!!

Yolanda Adams releases a very soulful album "Day by Day" On a major recording label Atlantic records.

Yolanda kicks off the album with an up beat party track "Victory". This is an ok attempt at a contemporary track. Production is nice but the vocal production lets it down. The album gets a nice lift with the next track "Tonight" Featuring Kirk Franklin.

The album continues in this direction with songs like "Day by Day" "Be Blessed" and "Show Me." Yolanda seems to "take it back" back to the times of the greats. Meaning that it a very soulful album. The kind of album you sit back listen and relax to. The music on this album is very relaxing. Production is tiptop. You would expect nothing less with super producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis all over the album.

Midway through the album we're thrown a musical treat with "Lift him Up" featuring Donnie McClurkin and Mary Mary. This mid tempo song showing appreciation to God for everything he has done for them.

Yolanda shows us what she does best on this album and that's singing. And boy can she sing. She sings her heart out on "Be Blessed and "This too shall Pass." Only few people can sing there heart out and it still remain about the message and Yolanda is defiantly one of them.

It would have been nice if there was a bit more up beat songs but this is still a strong album

If daily inspiration is what you looking for Day by Day will energize your spirit. Yolanda has combined praise, worship and thanksgiving with her heartfelt delivery. This combination will renew your strength and give you that pep you need to make it through a very tedious day.

This is an excellent CD. Yolanda's voice powerfully takes flight on every song. The songs are great and the music clear. I gave this CD 4 stars only because it wasn't what I was looking for and I wanted others who were looking for the same thing to be aware. I wanted something with a more stirring contemplative quality. This one has faint flavors of it here and there but not enough of it to meet what I was looking for.

This is a powerful praise CD that encourages folks toward Jesus with soaring testimony and thanks. If you are looking for praise music then this is the one for you. However if like me, you are looking for something that digs a little deeper spiritually try some of Yolanda's other CD's.

Mrs. Yolanda Adams has released yet another stellar album. You know its not easy as a reviewer to find artist's that continually refresh and invigorate you. Their arent many artist's currently, or even in history, that can deliver sensationl siging with tremendous soul, Every day I wake up, and I put in one of the various Yolanda Adams I own, and every time...I am shocked by her awe insipring, and spine chilling vocals. When I first listened to this CD, I wasn't that impressed. But after playing it a couple of times, I absolutely love it.

Being autistic and so disabled in many other ways it is not often that I get the real true and profound meaning of most religious songs. Yet I get the full meaning and spiritual impact of Victory perfectly clear. The fact that Victory's story speaks profoundly to issues of faith in a direct context that frames the issues and challenges I either face today or lived through in the past is what makes Victory awesome. The words are beautiful as sung on this CD by this obviously God inspired and Jesus blessed woman on a christian mission lifts this CD up making it a transcending experience to the glory of Almighty God! I cried like a baby listening to the sheer unbridled strength, power and passion she invested in every individual syllable in this song. There is not a single word or vocal intonation wasted in Victory it is ALL GOOD!

I have never enjoyed a religous song more. Ms. Adams sings this song as if she really lived its lyrics. She sings Victor in such a way that it is as if voice comes from your own heart and life experiences in Jesus name. I think anyone who has attempted to live their christian life fully can see themselves in the powerful words of Victory and are moved by how Yolanda Adams heightens their meaning with her voice. I am sure the rest of the CD is as awesome as Victory but just hearing Victory alone forced me to buy this CD it is just that good! Victory is so good it all but stops my heart to hear her sing those GOD inspired words.

Thank you Yolanda Adams you are a life long blessing to me by creating this testimonial to the greatness of Almighty God and Jesus with your beuatiful vocal instrument. This is one of the best inspirational cd's that I have ever heard. I listen to this CD 2-3 times EVERY DAY. This is the first CD from Yolanda Adams that I have ever purchased and I absolutely LOVE IT. BUY IT, you will not be sorry.

This C.D. exudes an extraordinary spiritual resonance! Yolanda Adams is once again a virtual singing sensation and delivers a powerful performance. The songs on this C.D. inspire hope and invoke the very presence of God within the tapestry of one's personal life.

I know that I'm in the majority, but I agree with one of the reviewers who said that something is missing in this CD. I love Yolanda Adams music, and I have all of her other CDs. But when I listened to this one I feel that the sound is good, but the heartfeltness...I can't really feel. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but that's my honest opinion.

The first word that comes to mind when asked about this CD is wow x 2! I mean I love Yolanda's ministry so I bought this CD August 30th 2005 the day it came out. I just put in my CD player and let it player and immediately I was in awe. Here are some of my favorites
#1 Victory OFF THE CHAIN a something that can hype you up immediately.
#2 Tonight- A song that tells of God's love for you even when you do wrong. My favorite part is when Kirk Franklin speaks and then Yolanda sings the next part right after.

I'm not a religious person, but very spiritual, but regardless, whether you are religious or not, there is a message of love, peace, hope and victory here. I can't tell you how many nights I relied on this album to help get me throough the week, the day, the hour. There is healing here, and Yolanda has outdone herself with this album, I mean I have been a fan of Yolanda Adams since the first album, but this album hands down is Yolanda at her best.

Yolanda's voice is beautiful, which is cleary evident on "This too shall pass". I love "Someone watching over you", "Alwaysness" and "It's gon be nice" because they are very comforting and remind us that Jehovah truly cares and wants the best for us. My favorite is "Lift Him up" because it gives absolute praise and glory to Him. "Be blessed" and buy this CD.

Being a guy, I thought maybe Yolanda Adams' CD would be a little too "sweet". I finally decided to order the CD after I saw the movie The Gospel, which was produced by Yolanda. The CD is great!

"Victory" pumps me up, "Lift Him Up" makes me dance, and I like many of the slower songs, especially "Tonight" and "Be Blessed". Yolanda has a great voice and an anointed, faith-filled mindset. I might give in to the desire to order some more of her CD's now.

Well i've got 2 give it 2 Yolonda, she does it good on this "Day By Day" album, it took me a while 2 get used 2 the more R&B style album.

There are some song's that I love and some that I hate, but all and all the CD, was arranged, great, any non gospel listener, will be able 2 listen 2 this CD, and (prayerfully be saved)

I have every CD by Yolanda, and I've just about worn this one out. On this outing, Yolanda sets aside her powerhouse gospel lungs and goes for a more contemporary, R&B-filled praise session. My favorite is "Someone Watching Over You", which is absolutely gorgeous and truly touches the heart. As always, Yolanda does things with musical notes that they didn't know they could do. This was easily the BEST gospel CD of 2005!

I received this album as one of my Christmas presents and haven't stopped listening to it yet. Every song is a prayer - whether it is the funky, uplifting opening track 'Victory' which makes you want to get up and praise His name or the touching, personal 'Alwaysness' reminding us that when we fall, He is always there to pick us up and carry on. I am also inspired by the song 'Someone Watching Over You', another personal anointing song. Every song on this album is inspirational and will lift you up, especially during trying times. Yolanda said it best, "there are times in life when your faith will be tested." This album is one of the best ways to restore your faith in Him and remember that He is always there to carry you through. Check out the other tracks like 'Tonight' featuring Kirk Franklin and 'Lift Him Up' featuring Donnie McClurkin and Mary Mary. I bought this album earlier in the year when it was released, played it a couple times, usually "Victory" and couldn't get into the rest of it. Then this past month I faced bitter trials and dissapointment,and I gave it another try ... all I can say is WOW!. This album is a Word in Due Season for anyone facing the same. I have never come across an album where each song, one after the other, spoke more and more to my situation as this one has. It is the ultimate encouragement CD.

What can i say,this is Yalonda!I have all of Yalonda's music.Not one of her cd's are bad.This is just one more to add to my collection of great cd's.She is simply the best!

I have just become a born again Christian and I have been trying to find good Christian music. Someone at work recommended this cd. It is EXCELLENT! I absolutely love it and will buy it for my friends and family as Christams gifts. This cd is a 10/10!

I wanted this cd when I heard the first two released tracks Victory and Lift him up. I was surprised with it as a christmas gift and all I can say is wow. I loved this cd the first time I listened to it (and that's rare). I love the jazziness of most of the tracks. It's very different from the overly churchy and hip-hop/r&b tracks Yo Yo is known for producing, but you get a lil' of that too. This album is very well rounded and I can't take it out of my cd player in my car. I usually like a variety of music, but for past week this has satisfied my cravings everytime. When I needed encouragement, this cd gave it. When I wanted to get my praise on, it was this cd. I'm telling you, if you're reading this review, you need to be putting this one in your basket. It's wonderful!

I own almost every Yolanda Adams CD/tape since she started in the late 80s. Her music and ministry has been a blessing to my life. Day by Day is no different. I will say the one CD I didn't purchase 'Believe' was due in part to the sense I had that she was getting caught up in the success and fame of 'Mountain High Valley Low'. However, after listening to her in an interview recently I thought maybe this CD would be different. I was right and I know if you want a CD that contemplates life, praises God, and encourages others, this is it. On a technical side, it is well produced and the EPK attached to it is a nice added touch. The collaborations with Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, and Mary Mary are wonderful. She doesn't oversing in any of the songs, which she has done a few times in past recordings. But I will say the most important thing is that 'Day by Day' is a CD that illustrates the love a woman has for her God. If you want a CD that considers God...this one is it!

I had to listen to this CD about 4 times for it to resonate with me. Therefore, for those of you familiar with Yolanda Adams' previous efforts, you must be somewhat patient with this CD. It is different...but in a refreshing way. Yolanda is one of my favorite recording artists. Each song has a wonderful message. I'm sure that a few will speak to you. Go ahead and purchase this CD. You will be very pleased.

I am generally not an avid fan of gospel music - but certain artisits, i.e. CeCe Winans, BeBe Winans and of course Yolanda Adams truly touch me.

I bought this album because of the single "Someone Watching Over You". But I made it through the entire album on first listen - which is a rarity these days, as most new albums have only two or three good tracks, and the rest filler.

If you are new to gospel, her messages are poignant without being pushy. They allow you to interpret them in your own way and in your own good time.

Every time I hear this album I am moved in a different way. The music is timeless and will be among my favorites for a long time.

I was, as many others, was skeptical about this album. But because I got saved listening to Yolonda, Live in Washington, I can't stop listening to her. The first time I listened to the cd, I was like okay. But after the 2nd time, 3rd time (meaning the whole album), I was like...Yolanda is not playing. For those who think she has sold out, I say to you, only to God. The lyrics are real and life changing. The music is different on each song and it truly is day by day. Whatever you are feeling daily, there is a song on this album that can lift your spirits. Yolonda, thanks for being Yolonda. I hope all of your fans are keeping you in prayer. Especially in this industry. GO PURCHASE THIS CD. Truly a blessing. Buy it for someone. Just buy it.

I Love this CD! I have never truly been a Yolanda fan, there were always some songs of hers that I liked. This cd is awesome!!! I bought it for my husband, and now he's begging to get it back. All of the tracks are lovely. My 2 personal favorites are Tonite featuring Kirk Franklin and Lift him up featuring Donnie McClurkin and Mary Mary. There's nothing more to say except that this cd was ordained by GOD!!!

I purchased this album several weeks ago and I have been truly blessed listening to this album. Every track on this CD is truly awesome. I listen to this album almost every day and It's speak to your soul. All the tracks on the album are good, but the ones I love are "Be Blessed", "Someone Watching over You", "Better than Gold" and "Show Me".
