Perfect Dutch Oven for Chili - Review written on December 06, 2007

I'm sure this pan is great for lots of other things, but I basically bought it to make chili, and it's perfect for that. I use about 2 lbs. of meat, a big can of tomato juice, a couple cans of beans, a bag of diced green peppers and a bag of diced onions, generally, plus spices of course. If you are making chili, or anything else for that matter, of roughly that size, this is a great pan. The non-stick works very well so clean up is very quick. I don't remember what I paid, but it was on sale at the time.
I also recently purchased the 4 quart covered Circulon pan for making Hamburger Helper and such, as this Dutch Oven was just too big for that.

I needed a dutch oven, since my Member's Mark hard anodized set did not include one, and I make a lot of one pot meals, that would greatly benefit from a nice sized dutch oven. I was inclined to buy the Calphalon dutch oven at a much higher price, but then I saw this one I thought I would give it a try, after all it is very affordable. I ordered it and it came in a timely fashion, and it was beautiful. It is a lot thinner than my Member's Mark set, but it doesn't have any hot spots, and it cleans easily. I am very happy with it, and would recommend it to anybody.

I knew this pot was not from the infinite line of pots with Circuon's name on it. I read all the reviews and all the contradictive information on the page. Anyways, when I received the pot I gave it away but it did look like a good pot, especially for the price. Has their grooved nonstick, aluminum cooking performance, is lightweight, and durable. I think the handles are heat conductive and not the stay cool metal. I also was looking for the infinite's nondrip rims. btw, when I took a look at my invoice a while after I bought it I was wtf! I thought it was 30 when I bought it but they had charged me near 35 for it. Well it is now 10 cheaper then what I thought. Wasted my time gambling on buying this and I'm too sick to complain but I wanted to tell others of what they are buying.
update from 04/20 review
wow I guess they did fix the product description and put up another picture. I also notice they have a button to report wrong information!

We have owned quite a few dutch ovens, and this circulon dutch oven is the absolute best, it's safe, no teflon in it, & it bakes delicious beef roasts, & I baked a lamb roast also, & it was delicious!!!
We want the whole set, & a little at a time, we will!!!
We will not cook or bake in anything but our circulon cookware,
Thank you
