Very cool!! I like all of the episodes in this game. All of the extras and the player option to drop in and out is fantastic. What a great way to play with others. The sound effects are just like the movie and including the soundtrack. The lightsaber sounds are very cool.

This is a great game for all those Star Wars fans. Like us.

Surprisingly, LEGO and Star Wars go Great Together! - Review written on January 01, 2008

Rating: 4 out of 5

At first glance, LEGO Star Wars may seem like a chilidish game, but it's really enjoyable for all ages. Those who like Star Wars will love this game, and even those who don't probably will. I've only seen two of the movies and only know a little bit about the films, but I am still in love with it!!! Even if I don't know what the heck I'm doing I still have a blast doing it!!! Breaking LEGO stuff is a ton of fun.
One thing that kept this game from five stars was its simplicity. This game is probably the easiest game I've ever played! If you have the time, you can probably beat Episode 1 in an hour, and Star Wars freaks in 45 minutes (without all collectibles). However, to truly "beat" the episodes, you need to fill up each chapter's True Jedi Bar by collecting coins. Don't worry, if you cqan't collect tham all on your first time, you can do Free Play Mode to finish it. Beat each Episode to get Episode 4. The game also gets very repetitive.
An excellent feature that this game has is the drop-in/drop-out co-op mode. Since all the chapters have multiple characters, instead of swapping between characters, you and your friend can play as different characters to beat the chapter together. It really is a unique feature.
LEGO Star Wars is an extremely fun game that anyone can enjoy. I hope they make more LEGO movie games!!!!!!!!!!!
Cool Legos and Star Wars - Review written on December 29, 2007

This is such a great combo. Grew up with Legos and watching Star Wars. Now both together, how cool is that? This a great game with cool story and free play modes. Watching Legos go KABOOM! Awsome. This game is great for families as it's nothing more than toys falling down, unlike all the other Blood and Guts games out there.

As a dad I love being able to play with my young daughter in the room, and hearing "UH oh daddy, legos went boom" whenever I blow something up. Highly recommend.

I got this game for my son last year for christmas and he played it and played it!! He thought it was the greatest game. He is a huge Star Wars fan and the characters in this game are so cute and fun. Even if you are not a Star Wars fan you would enjoy this game. He is 10, and it is right at his level, so younger kids might have a harder time with it.. I would recommened this product to a friend.

I am not really a video game player, but my husband and son love video games. My son plays this game all the time and really, really likes it! However, my husband and he have beaten the game 2x so it is pretty easy, but they still enjoy it, espescially playing it together!
Full Force Legos!!! - Review written on October 09, 2007

I was hesitant in buying this game for a long time because I've purchased other Lego games for my son that were beyond boring and/or too complex for him to enjoy. At the same time I've played more than a couple crappy Star Wars inspired games so the idea of Lego/Star Wars left me apprehensive.

I can easily say now that I regret having waited for so long. I was pleasantly surprised by this game and the amount of fun my son and I have had with it. It has challenges to be figured out but none that are so overbearing as to drag the game down. The game also very closely mirrors the movies for which I am a fan (of most of them anyway).

Using the force, lightsabers, droids and even other characters to complete objectives is a blast. The nature of this game invokes critical thinking and problem solving skills in a way that'll keep you coming back for more. If you're going to have any Star Wars styled game consider this one a must on your shopping list.

this is a very fun game.i think it is the 2nd best game ever. it looks like real legos. it is just like the movies. there is over 30 different characters of 1, 2, and 3. there is 2 charaters from 4, 5, and 6. they are princess leia and a rebel trooper. the only game i think is better is eragon.

My 4 year old girl loves this game. I tell her, if you misbehave, you will not play star wars before you go to bed. Guess what, she is good all day. I can't believe how much power I have over her because of this game. I really recommended this game for all children and parents to play together.

I bought this game because I bought the sequel and wanted the "use old save" extra but I still liked almost as much as the sequel. This game is funny, action-filled and has a great look for the simple idea of playing star wars with legos but on a video game. I would recommded this to anyone who likes stars wars or legos.

I am not a "gamer," and my son (9) is very new to PS2, but we love this game. As other reviewers have noted, there are tons of characters to unlock and levels to complete. Of all the games he has (about 6), this and Lego Star Wars II hold his attention best--he and his friends seem to never tire of these games.

This game is tons of fun. Funny clips, nice graphics, great gameplay, and more. Referring to what Dressi K N D said about this game, I, too, love using the Force to make battle droids go flying backwards and break. Whenever a friend of mine says I have to do something I don't want to do, I pretend to use the Force on her to make her fly backwards (but not break).
I almost gave this game a 4 1/2 or so because I like the second one better, but I didn't. This game is still a winner. I don't care if it's geared towards younger audiences. I'm 25, and I still love it.
(If you would like to, read my review of the second one.)

The game seemed pretty slow at first and I got bored, but my 2 1/2 year old picked it up pretty quickly and after a few hours starting getting into much more interesting parts. Now he's into the second level (don't know how he got there) and the game is awesome. Some parts, especially where you are flying ships, are too hard for a 2-3 year old and he needs me to help him get to the next level or just through a hard or complicated spot. Other times, I've gotten stuck on levels and my son (now almost 3) shows me how to get out!

My other two year old still can't get the very basics of the game, so it's not for all 2-year olds. I don't think he's going to get good at it until he's about 4, but it will still be fun. And my wife and I play it once in a while while the kids are in bed. It is the most interesting game we own!

Expect to spend a lot of time on the game; it's not one you can just jump into right away. We've had it for months and play a little bit each day, sometimes our son repeats levels and enjoys showing what he's learned.

It's a puzzle and a kick butt game. I like the unlimited lives feature and the drop in drop out feature.
Unlimited lives means my 4 yr old can play with me and he can get killed 300 times and still keep playing while I light saber the bad guys. The drop in drop out means I can attend to his baby sister or go grill dinner and he can still play.

Some areas require advanced controller manipulation, such as double jumping onto to a specific spot with a specific player which is a bit advanced for a 4 yr old but he's getting it down and can run thru most levels with little or no help from mom and dad.

Also this game is addicting, my 4 yr old wakes up at 6 am dreaming of Star Wars and wanting to play. At dinner he humms the Star Wars theme, when playing outside he pretends he has a light saber or laser blaster, which is really a stick, and shoots pretend bad guys. I guess my generation had cowboys and indians he has storm troopers and droids to kill. Hasn't changed that much in 30+ years.

This is a terrific game for anyone that is a fan of Star Wars and Legos. The game is not overly challenging. It is perfect to introduce kids to the wonderful world of Star Wars. I have a seven year old and a nine year old. My kids and I are having a terrific time playing through all the levels. The ability to drop in and out during game play is great. I have Lego Star Wars II for my PSP and can see how the game has advanced from this first incarnation. When I complete Lego Star Wars, I will definitely be moving on to Lego Star Wars II for the Playstation 2. For some the game play may not be as challenging as they would like, but I definitely recommend the game. The videos are great and the game play is tons of fun.

I'm not much of a video game person. And when I do play games, I don't really play the games consistently, except *Silent Hill* and *Resident Evil*. Well, my partner got this *Lego Star Wars* game and I was hooked!

This game was a lot of fun! I found myself playing this game way past my usual bedtime. I'd laugh here and there. Overall, it's a game that it not really complicated at all. A bit of thinking and detective work is required but that's the fun part.

The only complaint is that I felt the game was too short. The game pretty much follows the movie trilogy. I was surprised how fast Episode 1 ended. The next thing I knew, Episode 2 was over as well. Then, I dreaded for Episode 3 to end.

However, I found out that you go back and use Freeplay to finish up the 3 episodes in order to play the 4th episode. Freeplay is even better. Freeplay gives you a selection of characters that you can alternate for better results in the three episodes. This is because only specific characters can execute specific tasks.

Just one little problem...it can be a little redundant with Freeplay. To play the 4th episode, you gotta get "Jedi master" status in each chapters in the 3 episodes. To achieve that status is to rake up the coins. You can only earn up so much per chapters. Sometimes, you may have to do it again just to build up your money, especially if you also want to purchase anything at the "store".

Once you've achieve Jedi mastery and collected all the parts needed for a "kit", Episode 4 is unlocked.

Nonetheless, it was a fun game! This game is bound to entertain anyone. Hey, it's Lego! So, nothing in this game can be deemed too graphic. Lego is too "cute" for that. So, check it out and play! I can't wait to play the next one, *Lego Star Wars: The Original Triology*!

CAN'T PULL HIM AWAY FROM THE GAME! - Review written on January 12, 2007

Rating: 5 out of 5

Of all of the games that my son owns, this is the one that he plays the majority of the time. He loves to explore the different levels. They are challenging enough to be fun, but not overly challenging to cause him to lose interest in the game. The violence is animated so therefore when a character "dies", the lego pieces that make up the character merely fall apart. Great game!

This game is great for kids under 12. It starts easy and then gets harder with each passed level. My son is 5 and can play it. The characters never die which is nice so that you never have to start over. Definately fun for kids!

Lego Star Wars I game can be played by children and adults, with equal fun for both. I don't usually play video games, and even I could do it and get caught up in the fun! It isn't too difficult for beginners, but still presents a challenge for the true video gamer. I would definitely recommend this game!

Seems easier than Lego Star Wars II which has more stuff you have to figure out. We beat movies 1 and 2 in the first sitting, and didn't beat the whole game at once because we had to go out for New Year's, but it's good quality entertainment, especially good for people with little to no gaming experience.

My (almost 5 year old) son and I love to play this game together. It held his interest for 6 to 9 months of regular play. We've almost completed the entire game at this point so it has become less interesting to him. We played for 30 minutes to 2 hours at least a few days a week. I like the game quite a bit and enjoyed having a game that I can casually join or drop out of cooperative play with him.
This game is a good purchase if you have younger children.
