Nice chip set! - Review written on November 26, 2007

We were looking for a nice prize for our local holdem tournaments when we found this set. It should fill the bill extremely well. Nice quality, well built case, and fast shipping. We found that the rows in the case are a little loose. I prefer them tight so you know when you are missing chips. I would buy from this company again.

Some of the prior reviewers said they didn't receive the set that was pictured, so I felt like I was taking a chance with this purchase. However, the price was so good, I decided to risk it. I just want to say that I got the complete set as advertised: 500 chips (heavy-weight), 2 decks cards (brand new), 5 dice, Texas Hold'em Buttons, and aluminum case (with hinges that work, and a lid that stays up when opened). So, as of October 2007, this is a great buy!
Great poker set for the price! - Review written on October 08, 2007

Most negative reviews of most poker sets that I saw when shopping for a poker set were regarding the case. This case was perfect when I got it. Great condition, closes nicely, sturdy enough. The locks don't work at all (they seem just for show), but if anyone was going to steal the set, they'd take the case too. So that part doesn't matter to me one bit (plus, I'm sure locks on a $50 poker set are about as useful as the ones you get out of a quarter machine... i.e. not at all).

The chips are fine. If you look close, you can see a slightly visible line where the top and bottom of the chip was joined. Other than that, they're good enough for me. The paint is good overall, the color count is perfect, and they look good to me.

Like any other set, if you're looking for a super professional set, this one's probably not for you. But, you're also going to have to spend more than $50. This set is perfect for me though. I'm very pleased with it overall, and the price is awsome.

But I wonder why there aren't any money denominations written on them. I thought that was strange. Regardless, it's an awesome and cheap kit! The chips feel solid. Replace the 2 decks of cards it comes with (or keep them) with a more expensive and bettter quality one and you're set.

What a great deal! For $39.99 the chips feel really good and have weight. It is a realy nice set, and I highly recommend it! I looked at sets at Target, Wal-Mart, and the toy stores. Although the chips are not clay, they do not feel like cheap plastic.

I bought this poker set after doing a lot of research. I had bought a poker set from Wal-mart but returned it because it felt really cheap. But this one is really solid, the chips are pretty heavy and the cards are of amazing quality too.

The aluminium case is very sturdy.

Overall, a great purchase.
Chips fine, leather case poorly designed - Review written on May 22, 2007

The chips in this set are fine, nice weight and design. But, the leather case does not stay open. The "hinge" is a piece of leather connecting the bottom to the top and it is not wide enough to let the top stay open. This means you have to hold the top open with one hand and take out the chips with the other, which is quite cumbersome.

express shipping was 3-5 days, and it took 5 days! to San Diego, not South Dakota (nice place I hear!) The shipping cost was an arm and a leg, so the present was late!

I would not have purchased it had I know that FEDERAL EXPRESS for this package bought ONLINE with a transaction processed at the SPEED OF ELECTRONS could take more than 2 days to deliver (Its teh 21st Century for crying out loud!) .

i mean cmon, I live within sight of the skinkin Fed Ex Airplanes! no excuse, and was very disapointed! I had to buy another present, and now have these chips in my closet waiting for another opportunity to give them to someone.

bottom line, shipping ruined the present, and I am out dollars from my wallet.

Great chips. Nice and heavy, good quality. The inside of the case is a little cheap feeling. The cards are used cansino cards. Both of my decks were marked with drink spills.

This is a great chip set for the price. So far, the case seems very sturdy and it can be locked. The company shipped it very quickly to me and I recieved it in 3 days with standard shipping. It has high quality chips. I recieved the blind and dealer pucks along with the package, unlike what some customers recieved. For the average and casual poker player, this set is a great deal with a price thats tough to beat. This is the best chip set I saw on Amazon and I'm glad I purchased it.
For those wondering what the exact chip count is:
100 White
150 Red
150 Blue
50 Green
50 Black
Buy this chip set if you are thinking about this and another set, it's worth it.

It came on time, nicely packaged and protected, a great quality case and chips! Out of all the sets I have seen and purchased, this one is a super buy for the price! I have seen other sets for $75-$250 and this set is just as good as those, so save your money for more poker tournies!

I ordered the 500 piece set, paid shipping on 500 piece and they sent a 300 piece set completely different than the one they advertised. They still advertise the 500 piece set on their website at the price they charged me, but wonder which they will ship to you?

The chips they sent are dull and dusty, while the ones they show are bright and clear. Which ones will they ship you?

Amazon should be ashamed to even allow them to promote their products through their service.

If you are looking for a good deal, here it is. This is real quallity. You really get all you need too. You have to rmember thuogh, these are clay composite, not all clay. So if that's what your looking for this is not for you. Otherwise this could probably the greatest poker purchase you can make.

I'm a perfectionist, but I was totally satisfied. The chips mimics the real casino clay chips very well. The previous review mentioned that this set does not have dealer buttons or blinds buttons, but this is not true. You can play Texas Hold'em without a problem. The sales people are wonderful. I always got prompt replies from them. I feel so happy holding the chips now. :)
Good chips and great service from Chipsandgames - Review written on April 11, 2006

Rating: 4 out of 5

For the price, you can't beat these chips. I was very pleased with the quality and feel of the product. The case isn't the sturdiest that I've ever seen, but it is just tough enough to do the job. The chips have a great feel to them and add to any attempt to recreate a casino in your home.

My shipment arrived and I had none of the miscellaneous blind chips that are supposed to be included. I sent an email to chipsandgames and got a prompt response and 2 days later received the chips in the mail.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is just getting started and does not want to spend a lot of money. Great beginner chips!

I could be wrong but I recieved this product and they don't seem like clay composites to me. They feel like and look like the weighted plastic chips. Of course they serve their purpose, but they were a bit disappointing to me. If your not a picky consumer the set will satisfy your needs, but beware if you're strictly looking for the clay feel.

I agree with all of the positive comments made by others. I received this set as a Christmas gift. The most telling thing was when I compared the set to the two others received by family members. This feels professional while the others you would expect to find at a discount department store.

I purchased this set as a gift for a friend and was amazed at the quality of the chips and case, especially since the whole package was only $50!

I have a set of personalized chips that were rather expensive, but to tell you the truth the quality is only marginally better.

Just a note - The dealer button is useful, but I have never seen the other buttons (small blind, big blind, etc.) used is a home game or larger tournament.

This set is well worth the price.

We searched high and low for the perfect poker chips/"outfit" as a birthday gift for our son. Low and behold, I went to amazon, as usual, and found the this perfect set...it just arrived. the chips are EXACTLY what he asked for. Unfortunately, the aluminum "suitcase" was a bit dented, and we reported it to Games and Chips...the VERY NEXT DAY...they wrote an e-mail to us, and guess what...a new case is coming in the mail tomorrow. Now...is THAT great customer service?? YES? Games and Chips has "WOWED" this customer. I will only buy from this vendor, thru amazon.

After looking around on Amazon this was the best deal so I bought one. I was a little ambivalent because they were so cheap and wondered if it would be poor quality, but I am very pleased with the chips, the case, and the cards. When I opened the box I discovered that 25 of the chips were of the wrong type but I contacted the seller and they immediately made arrangements to get me the right chips and they arrived soon thereafter. Between the price the quality and the customer service I have to say that this is a great buy.

I shopped around for quite a while before deciding on this set. The chips are very nice - great weight, sturdy and stylish with nice engravings. The case is solid enough, similar to an aluminum case for grilling tools. It is lined with green felt, has a handle, and can hold all 500 chips and 4 decks. As mentioned in a previous review, the slots in the case are pretty tight and there is room to fit a few more in each, but the chips fit fine. Any looser and there's a good chance that there would be chips all over the place when you opened the case after moving it around. Note that this is not officially a Texas Hold 'Em set, so there are no dealer or blinds buttons. The only factor that made me hesitate when purchasing this set was the high cost of shipping, but the chips are heavy and the item arrived in two business days. Even with the costs of shipping this set beat the price of almost every comparable set of 500 chips I looked at. The only thing that remains to be seen is if the chips stand the test of time but I am very happy with this purchase.

As a last note, the merchant includes a chip in the set as a marketing piece - the actual chips are of a much higher quality, so don't freak out if you see this chip first.

I bought this product and I'm totally satisfied with it. It's just as advertised on this site. The case is sturdy and the chips are very high quality. The 4 decks of cards are also hight quality. The only complaint I have is that it did not come with a dealer button. Other than that, this is a great deal and I highly recommend it.
