Quality set, as advertised - Review written on October 27, 2007

Some of the prior reviewers said they didn't receive the set that was pictured, so I felt like I was taking a chance with this purchase. However, the price was so good, I decided to risk it. I just want to say that I got the complete set as advertised: 500 chips (heavy-weight), 2 decks cards (brand new), 5 dice, Texas Hold'em Buttons, and aluminum case (with hinges that work, and a lid that stays up when opened). So, as of October 2007, this is a great buy!
Great poker set for the price! - Review written on October 08, 2007

Most negative reviews of most poker sets that I saw when shopping for a poker set were regarding the case. This case was perfect when I got it. Great condition, closes nicely, sturdy enough. The locks don't work at all (they seem just for show), but if anyone was going to steal the set, they'd take the case too. So that part doesn't matter to me one bit (plus, I'm sure locks on a $50 poker set are about as useful as the ones you get out of a quarter machine... i.e. not at all).
The chips are fine. If you look close, you can see a slightly visible line where the top and bottom of the chip was joined. Other than that, they're good enough for me. The paint is good overall, the color count is perfect, and they look good to me.
Like any other set, if you're looking for a super professional set, this one's probably not for you. But, you're also going to have to spend more than $50. This set is perfect for me though. I'm very pleased with it overall, and the price is awsome.
they charge to much for shipping to slow for my purposes - Review written on May 14, 2007

express shipping was 3-5 days, and it took 5 days! to San Diego, not South Dakota (nice place I hear!) The shipping cost was an arm and a leg, so the present was late!
I would not have purchased it had I know that FEDERAL EXPRESS for this package bought ONLINE with a transaction processed at the SPEED OF ELECTRONS could take more than 2 days to deliver (Its teh 21st Century for crying out loud!) .
i mean cmon, I live within sight of the skinkin Fed Ex Airplanes! no excuse, and was very disapointed! I had to buy another present, and now have these chips in my closet waiting for another opportunity to give them to someone.
bottom line, shipping ruined the present, and I am out dollars from my wallet.
Excellent chips, great set - Review written on December 20, 2004

I shopped around for quite a while before deciding on this set. The chips are very nice - great weight, sturdy and stylish with nice engravings. The case is solid enough, similar to an aluminum case for grilling tools. It is lined with green felt, has a handle, and can hold all 500 chips and 4 decks. As mentioned in a previous review, the slots in the case are pretty tight and there is room to fit a few more in each, but the chips fit fine. Any looser and there's a good chance that there would be chips all over the place when you opened the case after moving it around. Note that this is not officially a Texas Hold 'Em set, so there are no dealer or blinds buttons. The only factor that made me hesitate when purchasing this set was the high cost of shipping, but the chips are heavy and the item arrived in two business days. Even with the costs of shipping this set beat the price of almost every comparable set of 500 chips I looked at. The only thing that remains to be seen is if the chips stand the test of time but I am very happy with this purchase.
As a last note, the merchant includes a chip in the set as a marketing piece - the actual chips are of a much higher quality, so don't freak out if you see this chip first.
