Have had the watch about a month. Very satisfied with the prompt processing and delivery by Amazon. The watch itself has performed well, inasmuch as one can determine that in such a short time span. Had no trouble setting day and date, as instructions were clear. Getting the stem in the right position to set day and date was a little tricky, but I've never had a watch where that wasn't the case. Very happy with the appearance of this watch. No frills, but solid in look and feel. I believe that Seiko is the parent company of Epson. Since I've had a Epson printer (R1800) with which I've been extremely pleased, going to Seiko for a watch was almost a no-brainer (have to be careful using that expression - comes too close to the truth at times).

Smart, unfussed, classic black faced design. Matt s/steel bracelet with shiny bevel. Nicely weighted, perfect size. I love it - it is my "everyday" watch. My one criticism lies with the date display - I have been struggling to set the day in English. Everytime I set the date and day in English, then later that day it ticks over to Spanish!!! Most frustrating. I have read similar complaints from other reviewers. I hope that my local jeweller can rectify this... This is why I have given this exquisite watch 4 stars.

Update: The date problem mentioned above was sorted out the following day. Don't ask me how I did it, but the watch is now keeping perfect time, date and day, and most importantly, in English!

Great looking watch and a reasonable price. But little, if any, mention is made of the need to check for the proper date at the end of the month and correct it if the month has less then 31 days. I didn't realize this when I bought the watch as I'm used to digital watches that always have the correct date. Still a great looking analog watch. Just remember to check the date when the month changes.

This is a great watch. I love the way it looks, but there were a few minor problems. First, I had trouble setting the date. It was a bit confusing, but once I got it, there have been no problems. Also, the links on the band are large so adjusting the size has been annoying. Right now, it's too big, but if I remove a link, it's too tight.

Ok, I'm going to be as straight to the point as possible. I don't usually write reviews about items I owed or used but I ran into this watch on this site and thought I can write about it. I've had this watch for well over 4 years...I'm not exactly sure when I purchased this watch but it really has to be well over 4 or 5 years. I wear this watch 4 or more times a week since this is my "work week" watch. Sometimes I even wear it or regular ocasions. I'm very happy with this particular watch. It was a cheap purchase, that I thought would serve its purpose for work. Yet this watch looks and feels hundreds of dollars more expensive. On several occacions I've had a few people at work get it confused with a Rolex. Still ticking under the same battery...that's wright I haven't had to replace the battery yet. Always on time, never gets ahead or late. The date feature works just like its supposed to work. Very little scratches overall...just some on the bracelet locking mechanism and one small scratch in the crystal face that is hardly even noticable. I really recommend this product with all my faith. Specially if you are just looking for a cheap in price, expensive in style watch for work.

Perfect for those of use who just want a simple, day/date analog timepiece at a very affordable price.

I bought this as a christmas present for my boyfriend since he mentioned he needed a watch a few months back. It came just in time, thank god. He was so surprised, he loves it. Its looks pretty snazzy and comes in handy so it really makes a good gift.

I gave this to my husband for Christmas. He loves it, and it looks great on him. Very sharp, not too dressy or too casual.

be careful, it got scratched easily and the battery would be dead the first week you got it if you are unlucky

and the customer service are not very helpful either.
if it works fine, no problem. if not, it would be a pain to deal with the customer service, as all the online retailers.

I'm a watch lover. I've got 20 watches in my "common rotation." This watch is one of my favorites. It feels as solid as my Rolex. It's not too heavy. It does its job perfectly. This is very similar to the watch I have been wearing for some time, I like it a lot.

I purchased this watch for my husband as a stand-in while his usual timepiece was being repaired. We were both amazed to see how sharp this watch looks in person. It keeps time very well and I don't think he even misses his regular one. He wears a suit most days and the watch complements his attire. The styling is classic and very well done at that. I have been pleasantly surprised by this Seiko. You get a really big (understated) bang for your buck. At a glance it looks like a Rolex. Upon closer inspection, the design still looks like a Rolex but with Seiko's signage. If you like clean lines you'll love the looks and performance of this watch. It's definitely sharp.

I bought this Seiko watch for my husband's birthday. I did a lot of research before I made up my mind that this is the watch I want to give him. My purchase was influenced by the high rating and good reviews I read from satisfied customers of Amazon who bought the same watch.

I gave it try and ordered it. After 5 days the watch was delivered. When I saw the watch I got all excited and I can't wait for my husband to wear it. He too loved this watch and I'm very happy. For less than 80 bucks, I should say it's all worth it!

My husband loves this watch. I managed a jewerly store years ago and am very familiar with jewerly and watches. I couldn't believe I could buy a mens Seiko watch this cheap. The watch was exactly as I expected. Clean, elegant, accurate, and easy to read. I have 100% confidence in Seiko. My previous watch I had for 12 years. In the time I owned it I never changed the battery once and it never lost a second! Simply a quality, reliable timepiece.

I bought this watch when it was on sale thru Amazon for 57 bucks and have been impressed with it. It's a great everyday watch, that is both stylish and functional. (The fossil with the velcro band doesn't quite cut it for those impromtu client meetings). For those trying to adjust the band, try moving the clasp link first. I did this and after a few notches up, the watch fits just fine. No need to remove any links.
The only thing I don't like is my days are off, so when it reaches 12 (noon or midnite) either the date or day change. I'm thinking about setting the date exatcly at midnite to solve this problem.

I bought this a little over a year ago. It works well and looks great. My only complaint is that the date/day change control seems a little sensitive.
Every couple of months though the day reads wrong. I don't think it is from the watch failing to change days, but instead, it seems that my sleeve or jacket will rub against the control causing a day or date change. You see, changing the day or date requires pulling out the knob on the right hand side of the watch and then turning it. It appears during normal wearing of the watch, ever once in a while, the knob gets pulled part way out and the day gets changed. However, all I need to do is catch the problem and push the knob back in.
Other than that, the watch is clean, and wears great. At night reading the time is easy, as the hands and number markers have precisely manufactured glow-in-the-dark sections. Because the sections appear to be made to exacting standards, only the wearer can see the glow. (Real important if you don't want people being distracted by your glowing wrist...)

The new watch is bigger &heavier than the old seiko but is similar otherwise.I had my old seiko for over 25 yrs. and it worked perfectly untill it was lost so thats why I bought a new seiko to replace it.

This is my third Seiko watch over a 34 year period. This watch is exactly as described and keeps excellent time. The style is classic and the lines are clean and unobtrusive. I really like the brushed finish on the link band. Being a conservative dresser, I was looking for something clean and simple, yet elegant. As a short man (5'5") I found most watch faces too large, making it look like I was a little boy wearing 'daddy's watch'. While this may look like it has a large face, the size is in proportion with the band and does not come across looking big.

My first Seiko lasted almost 25 years before the mainspring went, after a nasty fall. My second Seiko is a Kinetic that I've had just over 10 years. It's still running beautifully, however, I was looking for a lighter weight watch, hence, this purchase.

My Seiko is everything you could ask for in an inexpensive watch. My identicle Seiko was purchased 25 years ago for the same price and all that was needed was a battery every 5 years. Great value!

6 months ago I bought an Invicta diver-style watch (for a few more dollars!) and, while attractive, it was cumbersome ("heavy") on the wrist, hooked on things a lot (finally broke the band at the pins, twice), and had a date window that was nearly impossible to read due to a "magnifying window". This Seiko has similar size of dial/look/feel to the Invicta, but is absolutely svelte in comparison. Feels great on the wrist. Time setting knob is smaller and MUCH easier to deploy (the Invicta had a an O-ring seal that was difficult to set). Band is same style/link design as the Invicta's but about 2/3 the weight (plenty strong!) and has a much nicer squeeze-latch on the clasp. Day AND date are large and clear. The Seiko automatic movement, like the Miyota on the Invicta, has a trasparent back. Hey at $75 shipped, this Seiko is a steal. The Invicta with the broken band goes in the drawer....

I had the exact same watch for 5 or 6 years and the stem got snagged and broke. I was very pleased to find this at the bargain amazon price. In stores the watch goes for around $100 + tax which in NY equated to $8.00.
The black face is really stylish and keeps time perfectly or as close to perfect as a battery watch gets.

I'm just out of college and working and wanted to get a watch that I felt was professional but good for everyday use (buying multiple watches while paying off student loans isn't practical). I like the classic look that doesn't seem dated. I'm not into all the bells and whistles, just something that looks good and tells time. Also I was happy with the size of the watchface, full but not overbearing, because I am a runner, not a baseball player, hence smaller wrists. I feel comfortable wearing this to work, out on a date, or at formal events. I'd still use a digital for working out or strenuous outdoor activities, but this is good anywhere else.

Good weight, tasteful look, great watch. If you want a quality watch without breaking the bank, I highly recommend this one.
