I bought this model on Nov 29th 2007 and was required to use it immediately in 1st week of Dec 2007. If you are resident of Midwest or Northeast region (IL, WI, MN, NY, MA, NJ, CT, IN and many other states) then you must have experienced that often we get 'lots of snow in few hours' and this is not the equipment which can handle it. It also can not clean/unefficient cleaning wet and slushy snow higher than 3 inches. Which means that if snow advisory is more than 3 inches or more than 3 hours, you will be going out almost every hour to clean the snow, which obviously would not be possible if you are working full time and if you need to catch-up some sleep after working whole day. Hence, pl. save money on this and get at minimum Toro 1800 Electric or better.

Although some other reviews said this product is not good, my experience with it is just fantastic! I quickly spent 5 minutes reading the manual (yes, although I'm a guy, I do read manuals... I've got burned out so many times that I learnt my leason. :) ), and out of the box this thing was ready to do some damage. I have a good size wood deck to clean, and this "portable snow blower" did the job pretty welll. I had over 6 inches of snow and I needed to do double passes to reduce the hight of the snow because the clearence of the machine is 6 inches tall. But since it's not heavy at all, it was pretty easy to lift it up, remove about 6 inches of snow from the top, and then pass it again to remove the other 4-5 inches I had on my deck. The tip to use is is: don't let snow accumulate over than 5-6 inches! Because it does the job very quickly, I'd have my deck cleaned in about 15 minutes if I had not left snow accumulate. The other cool thing is that it really cleans the snow out and doesn't leave much residual on the ground. And the blades are made of some sort of plastic that didn't scratch the wood on my deck. Overall, I'm very happy with it and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a mini snow blower for decks or other small areas. But if you need to clean your driveway or have a big side walk, go for a regular gas snowblower because you don't want to mess around with long extention electrical cords. This is what I do anyways...
