Bought this set based on reading reviews off Amazon because as a steak lover, it was about time I got knives that don't make cutting through meat a chore. I've had these for a few months now and so far am not disappointed. I use them on a daily basis, run them through the dishwasher sometimes (I usually hand wash my good knives) and so far they are still as shiny as the day I got them. Awesome.

The steaks knives are bright stainless steel and tolerate dishwasher use. The cutting edge is sharp and effective. The quality, appearance and style of this knife set is very high. The price is a bragain. I would highly recommend for anyone on a meat diet.

I got this steak knife set to go with a 45 piece flatware set from JA Henckels and was not disappointed. I am extremely happy I purchased this set along with the Henckels flatware set and both sets should last for decades. The knives are sharp, have a sold feel, look great, and are reasonably priced as it appears this set will provide years of cutting meat with ease. I highly recommend this set and thoroughly enjoy them myself. After friends have used them they usually ask where I got these because they are so impressed with the solid feel and ease in cutting meat they want a set of their own. If you get the woodblock too they look great on the counter.

Excellant set.Well balanced. Cuts effortlessly. I saw some comments about the handle being too small on this set. I wear XXL size gloves and was a little apprehensive about the comments on the size. I do not think it is an issue at all. I am very happy and comfortable with this set.

These knives are a great value, i have had an original set for over 10 years and they remain sharp. One piece design so they are great for the dishwasher too

I got the knives to go with the new flatware. I went with a name I trusted and they are great.

We use these knives every time we have beef or pork for dinner and they are so smooth cutting meat without being dangerous. They are on the small size though; for us they are fine but porbably they are small for someone that has big hands.

I only got this set because it was a special value. I would have preferred that the handles were more rounded. It makes me feel like I'm using plastic knives.

We have used these knives for over 2 months now, and really enjoy them. We don't seem to have dishwasher problems. Would certainly buy them again.

These knives are beautiful, high-quality steak knives. The best part is that they are all one piece of stainless steel so you don't have that part of the knife where the metal meets the wood where food can settle. They look great and cut very well.

These knives are very sharp and well balanced. They are plain in design and a little narrow on the grip. The slight roughness on the pattern makes them easy to hold. Overall a good buy for the money

Nice knives. Can cut heavy duty food like steak and yet delicate things like tomatoes with equal ease.

They are cheap for henckels and pretty solid and heavy.

My dad gave me a set of stainless steel knives made in Brazil similar to Henckels knife set which I purchased for a Christmas gift. I love the beautiful sculptured one piece design, the weight & especially the price! Most knife sets are 6 pieces. I haven't used them but I'm certain they'll cut well. Am thinking of buying more for Christmas presents.

I purchased these knives to replace another brand that I was unhappy with. For the price, I did not expect much. However, I am very pleased with them! They look great and have a very nice feel when you are cutting with them. I have had them for almost a month now and have no problems with them at all. I put them in the dishwasher every time they are used, which is very often, and they are not discoloring or anything. They look great after repeated washings! I would buy them again and would recommend them to anyone.

Well.....it is now December 29, 2007 and these knives are still great! I have not had any problem with them being washed in the dishwasher. They still look like they did the day that I received them. I would still recommend these knives to anyone!

This is just what I have been looking for. They can be used in the dishwasher with no danger of rivets being lost and damaging the machine.
They cut very well and I'm thinking of purchasing another set. Would recommend them to anyone!

I am the kind of person who cooks alot. I am constantly using knives to cut or chop this or that. I have used many knives in the past, but I have never come across a set of knives as perfect as Henckels.

Last year, my husband kindly bought me a very nice set of Six Star cutlery knives complete with a block. The set is for all different kinds of knives, including 8 steak knives. The very first time I used these steak knives, they rusted. So, I recently bought an 8 piece set of Henckels serated steak knives. (Henckels International Stainless Steel 8-Piece Steak Knife Set). Let me tell you, they cut like butter! Usually steak knives are huge and way too long, but these knives fit perfectly in my hand. And they are so lightweight. The best thing about them is that usually when you buy steak knives, they have the couple of "stainless steel" circles on the outside that are imbeded into the handle and are extremely hard to keep clean & dry. Well, these henckel knives are all one piece, so it is a breeze to clean. They look gorgeous in my knife block and I'm sure would go with any kitchen decor. This will not be the last time I buy Henckel knives. I would highly recommend these knives to anyone!

I initially recieved 4 as a wedding gift. They worked so well, beyond other knives I have used that I had to buy 8 more for a 12 piece set. Highly Recommended.

This is the only set of steak knives that I have ever owned. That being said I can tell you that these knives are sturdy and up to the task of cutting meat superbly. $30 is dirt cheap too.

Purchased 2 sets (8-Piece Steak Knives) for a wedding shower for an awesome price. I found the same knives in a department store for a higher price and there were only six in the set! I have owned a set of these for 11 years and they are great. They dress up the dinner table nicely - the ones with the big bulky black handles are not as elegant on the table. Can't wait to purchase these again for the next bridal shower I attend!

I bought these knives at Target several years back. Although they *occassionally* get dishwasher stains on the handles, the blades themselves never get dishwasher stains on them, which is important to me; my girlfriend bought a different set of stainless steel steak knives (different manufacturer) that consistently come out of the dishwasher with massive rust stains on the blades themselves, which makes me not use them (who wants to eat rust). This makes me appreciate the Henckels set even more: I would definitely recommend this Henckels set.

However, they are smaller in size than what I expected. They are the same size as my butter knives. I expected them to be some what longer. They cut beautifully and look sleek and clean.

These were sent instead of the black-handled set I ordered so I thought I would give them a try. They are listed as "dishwasher safe", but evidently are not. Brown stains (rust?) appeared on the tops of all the handles. I cleaned them with silver polish, but the stains reappeared with subsequent washings. I have returned them and received a refund.

These are all show and no go!!! The butter knife in flatware set cuts a steak easier then these. Even the 29.99 price is high cause these could be had in a dept store for cheaper.

I received a set of these knives aboout 5 years ago as a wedding present and bought another set to complete 12. These are great quality, durable and I've even used them combined with more formal silverware. I highly recommend it.

These are absolutely by far the best knives I have ever used. They are perfect to cut anything! They are a little expensive for my taste, but are worth every penny. You will not be disappointed at all when you buy these!
