Good for the price, reasonable durable - Review written on June 28, 2008

Normally I dont write reviews but this product has inspired me to do so.
The pluses:
Easy to assemble, takes about 30 minutes at most if you are really slow
Faster than you would assume, the 12 mph speed is definitely plenty even for an ADULT
Can run with a 175lb adult no problem on a flat grade
Construction is reasonable durable for the price. The frame is very good but the tires/wheels are a little cheap and i could see them wearing out fairly quickly.
Low center of gravity, impossible to tip/flip, unless you are doing some kind of stunt.
The negatives:
Ground clearance is NOT a lot just a FEW inches so object in the road and quick Grade changes could cause a scrape. One of the lower parts is a drive sprocket so this could be an issue in the long term.
Steering is a little loose and requires a bit of force and the brake is very hard to pull for a child even 10-12 years old.
Unit WILL not drive with any slippery surface, my son drove on the grass in the evening and it immediately started spinning its wheel
Unit is SMALL, even my 10 year seems a bit LONG, and the driver will be sitting almost butterfly style with the legs spread. It is sized more for a 6 year old.
I agree with most reviewers this unit should NOT be for any child under 8 years old without adult supervision, my son is 6 1/2 and he had to be prompted to turn harder and slow down while i was RUNNING along side. I think any 9-10 year old could handle it though with some initial close guidance.
hope this helps.
Will fit in the back of any midsize SUV (honda pilot, explorer, etc
Great go kart - has held up very well for us - Review written on December 01, 2007

Bought this go kart nearly 1 year ago for last christmas. My sons have ridden the daylights out of this go kart, really some hard use. It's held up well and continues to be a hit. A couple maintenance items are required, esp. if your kids turn hard or peel out on the go kart. The tires will wear out, but are easy to buy (ebay) and replace (if I can do it, anyone can). Also I've heard from 2 other parents that have this same go-kart that the drive chain can break, but it's also repairable. Just like a normal car, there will be some periodic upkeep particularly if your kids ride it hard like mine do. But the go kart has really exeeded my expectations and the fact that it's still flying around the cul-de-sac 1 year later now, after all the hard use, means we definitely got our moneys worth from it. Good kart, would recommend.

I bought this item 4 weeks ago for my 11 year old, and he loves it, all his friends ride it ranging from 80lbs to 125lbs and they get good speed out of it. rated at 12 mph and it seems to do that. I rode it 210lbs, and it's slower but still no problem.
it looks really small when you get it out of the box, but once you put your feet on the front rail, it's not that small. Its very low to the ground, so you have to have the flag on. but you can't turn it over, so much safer than the ATV's. i bought a second one for our 6 year old last week, and it works great again.

My 8 year old daughter had her heart set on buying a power wheels Escalade as she began to save her money for the purchase. As the time got closer we knew we needed to come up with something more for her age and size. When we found the Razor go cart online, we were excited to read all the reviews and how well it went over with the kids alike. Now that we have it, we are very pleased with it. We have two daughters 6 and 8 and although the 6 year old needs reminders to hold the throttle half way instead of full on, they both love to drive their go-cart. Many of the neighborhood kids come out whenever the girls take it for a spin. The Razor has a smooth ride, it is quiet, it goes as fast as we would want it to go, any faster it would be scarry, the battery does last longer than the 45 minutes stated, the turning radius is a little tight but the girls are learning to adjust their timing. To drive it in wide open spaces like a black top is the most fun for the girls or on curvy paths at the park. We are very pleased with our purchase and thinking of buying a second one but as of now it gives the girls good opportunities to share and learn to be considerate of eachother's time. My younger daughter does complain of dizziness after riding it for about an hour, but she is probably prone to motion sickness in general. We highly recommend this product for kids in this age range as well as having an adult (oh shucks) drive it with the younger kidos. Enjoy!
