I remember seeing these cutting boards a while ago in an expensive kitchen catalogue. I am now in my summer quarters with limited kitchen storage and needed new cutting boards. I went to Amazon and put in the description. Success!! Just what I wanted, easy to clean and storage is less that 1/2". With my Amazon Prime I had free shipping also.

Not flimsy like most I find in the stores. I love the color coding, and wrote on one side with a permanent marker so we do not cross-contaminate which one is what. Package has it marked, how cool is that. I just copied it and easy wash up and this probably will last alot longer than most! Love em!

this is a great set of five dif colored thin plastic cutting boards. They are convenient to place anywhere in the kitchen and do not take up a lot of spce. they also roll up nicely if you secure with a rubber band. They are a bit stiff, so dont expect anything that is as flexible as silicone would be. The different colors are convenient when slicing and dicing different items. Overall, a great value! would recommend to anyone

Easy to clean. Very Flexible. Green for veggies, red for meat, blue for fish, You make the designation. Lessens cross contamination of foods. How ever I use this in concert with a wood cutting board for more heft.
These mats do not stand up to the ruff stuff. You will leave cut marks on the mat. How ever I don't think they are designed to last. But they keep my wood board clean and I can just fold my chopped items in the mat and transfer it to my pots and bowls. Very Convenient. Plus if you have lots of helpers there is enough to go around. Nice for picnics too. Please keep in mind these are plastic not silicone! And yes when these wear out I will buy them again. These are far easier to wash and sanitize than that heavy cutting board. They keep my very nice wood cutting board looking very nice.

This is the second set I bought. They are very durable and are well worth the money. The different colors make it easy for you to seperate which ones are used for chicken, beef, vegetables, etc.

Worked like a charm. They don't take a lot of room up in my drawers. The color coding helps if you're trying to separate for specific reasons (i.e. vegetables, meat, etc). For what you get for the price, definitely worth picking up.

This is not a miracle product, but it'll do. For light applications I always remember to grab one (before I'd resist using the wood board and would sometimes use the corner of my sink, which was no good for the sink or the knives), and for heavier stuff I put one over a wood cutting board to protect it and keep it clean. If I chop chicken and veggies, I can move one to the sink (with the stuff still on it) and grab another.

I mangled one chopping ribs with a meat cleaver, and another got warped in the dishwasher (though it survived several prior washes). I'm not sure what these are made of, but they aren't that 600 degree silicon stuff, and shouldn't be treated as such (the one I mangled was already warped on the corner from a hot pan).

That said, they are cheap, and several months after I bought them my sink, counter tops, and wood cutting boards are showing no wear. That's worth buying a set of these every year or so.

Horrible cutting boards - Review written on March 17, 2008

I bought these hoping to have a dishwasher-safe, easy-to-store cutting board for small jobs. However, on my formica counter-tops, these things slide around so much that they are completely unusable. Luckily I didn't waste too much money on them.

There are alternate cutting mats like these which have a little silicone on the back side which prevents slippage. Those are much better.

At this price ($1.40 each), they are hard to beat. Very good cutting surfaces and outstanding, large mouse pads. Would also work well for kids' working with clay, and as colorful, durable placemats.

I wanted to have separate cutting boards for meats and vegetables. So I bought this item. But when I used it to cut meat with bones, the sheets were getting deep marks of the knife. I think that they may serve as use and throw but not for long term. They are ok for vegetables but still leave the scars of the knife.

I ordered a set of these in early May. I was told they were in stock and would ship in 8 to 10 days. Well, first of June comes and I have not received notice that they have shipped, so I check and find an estimated delivery date of OCTOBER now..... who knows if I will ever get them!

My only problem was removing the glue from the sticker attached. I love the convenience. I have corian counter tops and these flexible cutting boards are perfect for protecting the surface and then funneling, so to speak, the chopped food into a pan or bowl.

These cutting boards, with the three different colors to prevent cross-contamination of food, are terrific. Having worked as a cook in health facilities, I am familiar with the problems of food poisoning and how easily it is spread. These cutting boards really help to reduce the dangers of that in my home kitchen. Their flexibility makes them easy to store when they are not in use and they are easy to wash and care for. I wouldn't want to be without them!

I use one of these on top of a heavy synthetic or wooden cutting board when I wanted to avoid cross contamination when working with the likes of raw meats or seafood. I order two or three sets of these at a time, and with heavy use, I find they last about six months or so. A regular home cook could probably keep them for a year or more with frequent use.

They really can't go into a dishwasher; instead fill your sink with warm, soapy water and a small dash of bleach. These do not last over the long term, and very sharp knives will cut through them eventually. They're way too thin to use on a countertop, if you ask me. However, they're very useful for using atop another cutting board to keep it clean/free of bacteria.

I use these boards multiple times every day - Review written on April 25, 2006

These flexible cutting boards do exactly what I purchased them to do.
1. eliminate cross contamination by making it easier to keep the meat off the vegetable board.
2. keep me from scarring my counter or wooden board.
3. make it easy to transfer cut food directly into the pan without getting my dough blade dirty (I used to use this to move chopped items from the cutting board into the pan or bowl).

These boards are reasonably thin, which is why they are flexible. I have had two sets for approximately 5 months and will be replacing them soon because they are starting to show significant scarring which I am concerned is accumulating dirt. For those that aren't as obsessive compulsive the boards would probably last twice as long. My wear patterns are from extreme use. I cook everyday and usually for all meals for my family. Since we began concentrating on eating more fruits and vegetables, these boards have gotten a serious workout and have held up better than the other flexible boards that I have tried.

I use these so often that they never make it into the dishwasher. They are easy to wash by hand, and I like to soak them in a weak bleach solution (10%) every day just to be certain they are clean. I wasn't certain these would hold up to the daily bleaching, but they have.

My only complaint is that these slide around a little on the counter. I have found that if you place them on top of a wooden cutting board they do not move around so much. It also works if you place a silicone pastry mat (Silpat) or a couple of silicone potholders under the mat.

I highly recommend these to anyone that is concerned with cross contamination.

I got these when they were on sale for $4.99, and at that price, I am satisifed with the product. They are a little thinner than my prior plastic cutting mats, and I don't expect these will last as long. I use the plastic mats over a wooden cutting board which provides cushioning to the plastic & the knives.

These mats are not particularly flexible, and flexability would be helpful to funnel chopped chopped vegetables into a pan.

At their current $8.99 price, I would suggest buying a better, cheaper product at Ikea if you have one close.

I really like the color coding on these mats. They also store easily (do not roll them, just tuck them behind an appliance such as your toaster) and clean up easily. They will definately protect your countertops from nicks and scratches. I often take mine out to cut a bagel or a piece of fruit, then lift it to prevent crumbs or food particles from falling on the countertop/floors and easily rinse them off in the sink. If you cannot afford a good set of wood cutting boards this set will definately do the job. I do not use these too often for meats since I prefer wooden grooved cutting boards, but they will work for that (although juices may run onto your countertops) but these are used multiple times a day in my household for at least the last 6-9 months and are just now needing to be replaced due to a couple of cuts through the mat. They will get a bit stiffer/brittle when washed in the dishwasher so I would not recommend it, but it can be done. What a fantastic invention!

For the price this item is well worth it to provide a clean and sanitary working surface. It is a lot cheaper than having to pay the doctor bills if you were to get sick from working in unsanitary conditions. YOu can use them to cover the table, or the cutting block, or the counter. Whatever surface you want to work on and want to be sure is clean enough to work on.

I agree with many of the reviewers in that these warp, bend & curl too easiy. And I didn't even stick them in the dishwasher. They look and behave like an ordinary plastic sheet. I don't like that they slide all over the place when in use. And I also don't like that they don't bend easily to 'funnel'/transfer your chopped up bits into a pot/plate/etc. One star for the relatively reasonable price and another for easy storage.

For the price these cannot be beat. I use these types of "cutting boards" to protect my nice wooden cutting board from bacteria when preparing meats. I have used several brands and they are all pretty similar, none of them last a long time. I wouldn't honestly recomend them for use on a countertop without something else underneath them.

All of this type of cutting board will curl with use, even more if you put them in the dishwasher. Some more than others though. If you buy the $10 version you might get better results, but when you consider you get 3 of these for $5, its hardly worth buying the more expensive version. Especially when you consider that even the best ones are only going to last a short while with regular use.

Curls too easily - Review written on February 07, 2005

Though these claim to be dishwasher safe, i can say that they are not. After one trip to the dishwasher these have curled so badly that they have become useless. To use these right now i have to put weights in all four corners of the board, and if i try to pick them up, they snap to curl shape so fast whatever rememnants are on the board fly into the air. Avoid these.
Flexible, sort of - Review written on November 23, 2004

I thought these would be much more flexible than they are. We do use them regularly, but they are not nearly so pliable as just picking up and easily curling them to create a funnel for your food. They have a tendancy to snap back, and I wouldn't dare store them rubber-banded up as they would never go flat again. Indeed, our biggest complaint with these is that they just require too much effort to bend one way or another - be it rolled up for moving items to the pan or flat on the counter for chopping.
And don't even think about putting them in the dishwasher, even on the gentle cycle, regardless of what the description says! They get even more brittle in the dishwasher and lose what little flexibility they have.
At the end of the day, I wouldn't buy them again.
