I've been listening to this cd over and over since I got it. I'm not a big Norah Jones fan, but her voice blends perfectly with this music. The music blends jazz, electronic, a tiny bit of hip-hop, and world beats. It's laid-back and perfect for summer. Most of the tracks have a female vocalist over the music.

Track 4, Angels, is definitely the highlight of this album. There really isn't a bad track on the album.

Wax Poetic's "Nublu Sessions" is every bit hypnotic and sensual as it is danceable and profound. With guest appearances from the likes of N'Dea Davenport to former band member, Norah Jones, Wax Poetic has weaved an intricate web of neo-jazz, chill-out, microhouse, folk, reggae and soulful music sure to please. Every song is well-produced with layers of texture and delightful rhythms. A+

Nublu Sessions is a great sounding record fusing jazz with electronic and worldbeat flavors. Norah Jones' two songs that appear on Nublu Sessions were ones she regularly sang with Wax Poetic while she was in the group. Wax Poetic is a revolving door of talent with contributions from U-Roy, Saul Williams, N'Dea Davenport and others. The vibe of this CD will defintely help you to chill out - without putting you to sleep :)

A few years ago, I happened upon wax poetics first cd in a used cd store. In fact I bought the disc without a jewel case, disc inserts or anything else, except the music and I must say I was simply blown away. That disc played so much until it was scratched so much that it couldn't be played any more!! Needless, to say, I bought a proper copy the second time around. Which brings us to the Nublu Sessions...I read a review in the paper that rated this disc an A-...Now, can I tell you that I REALLY do not listen to critics, nor buy what they recommend, but, let me just say that the critic who rated THIS disc an A- should be prosecuted for doing Wax Poetic a grave injustice!!! It should have been rated an A+++!!! The song selection and placement is virtually perfect, the instrumentation...WOW! It's an intoxicating cornicopea for listeners that uses sounds from unusual instruments to draws you into the vibe and maintains your interest. There are two songs from the previous album that are still oven warm and fresh. It's as if I'm hearing Norah Jones sing them for the first time. YOU MUST BUY THIS DISC PERIOD

This is the perfect CD to turn down the lights, light up a candle or two, and just chill out! It has a wonderful mix of warm earthy vocals (Norah Jones's two tracks here are especially stand out, as well as excellent work by the resident vocalist, Maria Turner) with live jazz instruments and chilled laid back beats. The music envelopes you in a warm wash of sound and doesn't let go until the last track.
