I bought these for my niece and everyone loved them. Some people told me I should get bamboo but I like durability and cleanliness of stainless. Turns out all the young adults thought they were very cool and asked where I got them.

These are well made but I find I don't use them a lot. Instead, I use the wooden or bamboo ones. I think it's the psychological fear of biting on something hard or perhaps it's just resistance to change.

Great product, just be sure to order more than one set, as you will be surprised at how fast you use them. The stainless finish holds up well and looks great at any placesetting.

One word of caution: Get yourself a dishwasher rack, or be prepared to hand wash: Chopsticks will usually fall through the rack in the dishwasher, as we've learned already in our house.
Great Sticks!!! - Review written on March 31, 2008

I purchased these sticks after getting fed up when our local Chinese food place would never put chopsticks in with our order. To put it simply, I get excited to eat with these chopsticks. They are light, fit well in your hand, and best of all are super easy to clean! I just noticed the other day while using them that they have a slight octagonal shape to them for easier gripping.

I may just have to buy another set for my apartment. The other set can stay at my office.

These chopsticks are quite nice and very reasonably priced! Not sure if they are labeled 'dishwasher safe' or not, but I put them in my dishwasher and they do well. Just take precaution, as they easily can slip through the silverware basket, so I put a little cup it the basket first.

if you are good at using chopsticks I don't find them difficult at all and I love that I can put them in the dishwasher with all my other silverware. I don't find that food slips off as someone else mentioned and even my 7 year old uses them with ease.

Very nice, but, don't be fooled. Not the same as the "Yoshikin" global line. And it works. You can eat with them and or even use it as throwing sticks; with some practice of course.

Best metal chopsticks I've ever used - Review written on December 08, 2007

The biggest problem I've had with metal chopsticks is that they are too thin and hard to use. However, since these are made of hollowed stainless steel, they are of similar proportion to wooden chopsticks and are about as easy to use. My only complaint is that the grips are rounded, not squared, which I think is harder to use.

They are more slippery than wooden chopsticks though, and since they taper to separate points it is a bit hard to eat noodles. Secondly, they do heat up quickly if you're eating hot soup, so don't leave them in your soup (just rest it on top of the bowl). These are problems inherent in all metal chopsticks though, so they aren't really a con.

Pros:
-Lightweight
-Same size as wooden chopsticks
-Stylish
-Easier to clean

Cons:
-Heat up when eating soup
-Slippery
-Rounded grips

These are nice looking. They aren't very pointed at the ends though and they are hollow making them very very light. A real good pair of chopsticks will be solid. That said, they're usable and I just make sure to lay a spoon across them in the top rack of the dishwasher. They will go everywhere if you don't. They are nicer than bamboo sticks in a paper sleeve.

I bought these for someone else as a gift because I have them and they are perfect. Don't have to worry about wood ones chipping and paint chipping off. They are sanitary, don't soak up oil or other things like wood chopsticks would.

Steel chopsticks are more difficult to use. These are lightweight and must be hollow. I've used other steel chopsticks that had groves and were just a bit longer and heavier. Nevertheless, for the incredible price these are a great deal.

Oh yeah they are nice indeed. They look and feel cool, I haven't had any problems with food slipping from my grasp with them. Trust me I have eaten a few foods with these. No rust or any other blemishes so far neither, and they have been put in the dishwasher. Overall a good buy.

I was a bit skeptical about getting these, after hearing the slippery noodle reviews, but decided on them anyhow. They are beautiful, hygenic, dishwasher safe, you don't have to change flatware for guests (great on occasion and everyday use), and the noodle slippage isn't as bad as I once supposed. It just makes me work that much harder to perfect my coordination... LOL! Great product

i grew up eating with wood/bamboo chopsticks bc they grab your food better, but metal/plastic chopsticks are more sanitary.. so i have made the conversion. i like that it's stainless steel so it matches with my flatware. they are a good weight and length. only bad thing is, they dont fit in the utensil tray in the dishwasher... fall right out - but that's not really that big of a problem.

8 metal sticks, nice. Although metal, they're lighter (than a piece of silverware) than one would expect. Kind of ~hollow feel, but they won't bend/break on you.

All in all they're a good buy.

I actually really like these chopsticks. They are a little thinner than normal chopsticks as others have mentioned, and they are a little shorter too. What surprised most of my friends when they saw them though, is that the chopsticks are not solid metal. They are hollow and light. They don't have the gripping ends like other metal chopsticks i've seen on Amazon, but for the price, these are very nice.

Not a bad set of steel chopsticks - Review written on March 08, 2007

Unlike some reviewers on this site, I find the metal chopsticks easier to hold than wooden ones. I didn't have trouble with the smooth nature of the metal vs noodles either. I find that if I hold the bowl close to my mouth in the traditional Japanese fashion, they work just fine. This is even true of thin pasta noodles like Raman.

Not a bad buy at all.

Well I'm not certain what to say about chopsticks! Since they're stainless steel, they will last for decades. They are dishwasher safe, which makes them more sanitary than bamboo. Over all, I'm very glad I bought these because they're safe and convenient.
Nearly perfect! - Review written on December 04, 2006

I really like these chopsticks a lot - I have purchased many sets for myself, my extended family and to give my friends. Wooden chopsticks will develop cracks and fissures over time between the laquer and the wood and also within the wood that are hard if not impossible to really get clean, especially if you wash them in the dishwasher. I would think that ancient bits of food can get lodged within the crevices. These steel chopsticks feel like the a cross between japanese style chopsticks (tapered towards the tip) and chinese style (blocky on the top and rounded at the tip). They are hollow so are very lightweight. Nice and smooth, very comfortable in my hands. It would be nice if some texture were applied to the bottom couple of inches to add some friction so eating noodles was bit easier. With this change, these chopsticks would be a perfect 5 stars but are nearly perfect as they are!

First of all, they aren't really intended for the novice user, but they are perfect for the long run. The wooden ones WILL rot before you ever get skilled with them, but these stainless steel ones will take a licking and keep on picking.

One thing the description doesn't say, is that they ARE made to be used as chopsticks and they can really function like them.

Maybe on the descriptions from before they said they are slippery and they don't have any grip. I never had any problem with that depending on what I tried to grab. I was able to grab chopped steaks and even some vegetables with these utensils, though I haven't tried noodles yet.

Another thing I need to point out that the description doesn't. These utensils aren't round. The handles are square, as the points are rounded. The tips are blunted so grabbing things becomes awkward until you learn to get "around" the item you want to pick up. If you know how to use chopsticks and pick up things with them, you'll only have a very slight adjustment to make with these.

All in all, for their originality and how they are made, I give them a four and a half out of five.

If you wanted chopsticks to replace fickle and often unwashable wooden ones, these are the kind you want to get, definately.

My mother is Korean and so I grew up using stainless steel chopsticks. Apparently they're quite popular in Korean households...as well as stainless steel rice bowls. You might have seen them, the ones with the stainless lids?

Anyway. These are just like the ones I grew up using. There are some drawbacks (like the noodle comment made earlier) but it's not a product flaw. Yes, wooden chopsticks are going to grip better, but they also tend to mildew if used repeatedly and have to be restocked. Lacquer coated wooden chopsticks tend to flake after a while. And besides, when eating asian food you don't really pick up individual noodles (which would have you slipping and sliding). You sorta grab a large portion and bring your face close to the bowl and slurp them down. I think the Japanese actually bring the bowl to their face instead. Trust me...it all goes where it needs to.

The main thing is getting use to their diameter. These are much more slender than the wooden chopsticks you see in restaurants. Not for the novice chopsticker.

Stainless chopsticks sound like a great idea, but they just don't work very well. They're hard to eat with because they're slick - noodles especially just slide right off (and I know how to eat with chopsticks; no problems with other kinds). Also, they get way too hot when you eat hot foods.
I wouldn't buy them again. The dishwasher-safe thing doesn't mean much if they are never used.
