Too often there is nothing presented to the purchaser of a new tool about available options as with the Folding Table extensions for the DW735. Folding up only works on Power Switch side as I have my dust collection hose permanently attached. Works well, will never take them off. Six inches longer for each table would also work well.

The DW735 Planer is a nice little machine. Though the machine is readily available the folding tables are a bit harder to find. One might look to an online source to locate them and perhaps some better knives. The machine probably should have come with the tables for the price...however, since they don't they are a worthy investment. (Giving your wood a much cleaner surface). I got a lot of my advice from reading reviews myself. Infact, I found the Planer itself for $100 cheaper at Lowe's, though I went to Home Depot for a price match. None of the Lumber, or hardware stores I found did carry the tables...for that stick with Amazon.
Essential upgrade - Review written on April 26, 2008

They install easily and significantly reduce snipe. They are an essential upgrade to the DW735 planer and should really be part of the basic package.

The only negative I can think of is that the outfeed bracket on the DW735 should have been located a little farther out so that the outfeed table could remain folded up when not in use if a dust collector fitting is not permanently attached to the DW735. But as this is not the fault of the outfeed table, I did not gig the table for this.

Planer tables are high quality. I would suggest purchase with planer. Easy to install. Good support. Glad I purchased them.

The extensions really make the Dewalt portable planer a top-notch tool. I had tried roller stands for the in-feed and out-feed, but was never satisfied with the amount of snipe until I added these. My only complaint is I think they should come standard with the planer.

Great product, easy to install and remove. My only problem is that if the planer cost between $500 and $600 to purchase, these tables should already come with it. And you NEED them if you want to truly use your planer.

I just received my tables so I can't write a report on how they function. However, I don't understand complaints about their price. I paid only $35 and don't think that's high for what I received. Also, I'd like to make a request -- some of you have mentioned various 'tweaks' you've used with your tables but stopped short of complete explanations of how to accomplish the respective set-ups. I'd really appreciate any detailed info since this is my very first plane.
Thanks!
A must-have for most - Review written on January 19, 2008

As has been said elsewhere, they're a must-have unless you're building a dedicated workstation. But if you were going to go through that kind of trouble, a floor standing planer would make more sense. I think they're an appropriate size for the machine. For the size of the machine and these tables, it is pretty easy to keep snipe to a minimum. The only complaint I have is the inability to fold up the rear with dust collection in place.

While others might not consider it "portable" I do, and would appreciate tables that fold up and lock into place. I usually fold up the outfeed as best I can and put it against the wall of my trailer. It's enough of an inconvenience to give it 4 out of 5 stars.

[rant]I still believe these should have been packaged with the planer, but they weren't. [/rant] That being said, if you have a DS735 planer, these are a must-have item. Figure that in the price when you're comparing other planers.

Extra smooth for sliding wood. This is a necessary attachment. Easy to install. The main table needs to stick out at the rear by at least an inch or two to allow the table to fold up.

No muss, no fuss; just put them on and they work perfectly. Prevents snipe, easy to install and they fold-away, out of the way, easily.

There are well designed and made of good strong material. Its nice to see a product built to be used and for durability.

These are not optional. If you are planning to use your planer regularly for any kind of real work, you need to have them.

The only negative is that these are not standard equipment.

The folding tables receive a 5 star rating because they greatly reduce snipe. DeWalt receives 0 stars for not including these with the purchase of the planer. The only thing I can suggest is to periodically check to make sure the tables are still level.

I don't know why DeWalt didn't include the infeed/outfeed tables with the planer, but after installing them on my DW735, I notice a large decrease in snipe. The tables ensure the wood is parallel to the blade the entire time. I would like to see them a bit longer, but installation was easy--just insert tab A into slot B.

This item is a must for anyone owning the DW735.

They work ok. They are smooth so there is no friction and they seem to be level with the bottom of the planer so nothing catches. My only complaint is that you have a hard time using the provided hangers for wrapping the cord if you need to put the outfeed table up as I do when I store the planer.

I am new beginner of woodworking, and I needed something to keep the wood leveled as I was planning. Buying these tables worked for me, they hold the wood in place from the beginning to end. I truly love them, for what I do, thanks again Dewalt.

The only tools you need for installing these table is the wrench supplied with the planer and an adjustable wrench. Easy to install and level with the bed. Made entirely from stainless steel I think they are a great deal and compliment a great planer well.

The folding table accessory for the Dewalt DW735 planer is a great add on. Easy to install. Requires adjustment so as to make the front and rear folding tables perfectly parallel with the planer feed table. This was easy to do using a reliable straight edge. It took about ten minutes for each table. Once adjusted, everything stays put. When folding up the tables for storage of the planer the outfeed folding table bumps up against the dust collector fitting unless the fitting is removed or the planer is raised all the way up. I simply raise it up a little and then use a bungee cord with light tension to keep it out of the way. This is a must have accessory if you're planing anything beyond about three feet in length. A little car wax on the folding tables helps keep your wood sliding easily.

I ordered these tables just after purchasing the planer and boy am I glad I did. When you start trying to plane down oak boards that are 10' long it's imperative that you have support going in and out of the planer. I would't consider using the planer without them. Good fit and takes only a couple of minutes to install.

These are sold in combo with the Planer stand. Be careful they mount on the Planer not on the stand.

This is the best planner I have ever used. I got the planner about 2 weeks ago. I used it without the extension table and has a little bit of snipe, barely noticeable. The tables went on without much work and are dead flat, they are a must have to make a great planer better.

This is a must have if you do not have outfeed tables built for your planer. Without it you will wind up with snipe at the end of your board....

This is a no-brainer. These mount easily, fasten securely, are sturdy, and then fold up out of the way when the planer is not being used (or you can easily press a spring-loaded pin and take them off without tools). If you have this planer, you definitely need these infeed and outfeed tables. ...a good design.

DeWALT's 13" planer does need some kind of infeed and outfeed support, but these extension tables are not sufficient. They are formed of thin sheet metal, and easily deform/bow in the middle when planing anything stiff enough to need the tables. Both are made to fold up out of the way, but only the one on the infeed side can physically be folded up. The outfeed table will hit the planer if folded. Neither is made to be secured in place after folding up. However, both can be easily removed without tools. Also, adjustments are easily made with screws that use the planers integral hex wrench.

The product is well made, and looks as if it would be a great addition to my Dewalt DW735 13" planner, if I had received the unit. I was promised a reconditioned unit, a an advertised cost, brought a few accessories to go with it, then was told by Amazon, that the unit was no longer available at the advertised cost. Now I have the accessories, but no planner! No good business Amazon! So in closing, The extension tables would work great if I had something to attach them to. Frustrated, long-time customer, JV from Media, Pa.

I find these tables very beneficial to eliminate the snips on boards being fed through the power planer. I was very surprised to find that the top of the line DeWalt Planer did not come standardly equipped with the table extensions. I was glad to be able to obtain them from Amazon.
