I was so busy listening to this CD, and loving it, I didn't even know they came out with a new one! (The Art of Breaking) But I'm not missing out on The Flame In All of Us(the one thats coming out this summer).
The songs on here all all great. But here's my review:
Phenomenon - 9/10 - Took a while for it to grow on me, but now I like it a lot. It's got a very...different sound.
Step to Me - 9/10 - Good drumming in this one. The beats are cool, too. This is one of my favorites.
Last Words - 9/10 - Dramatic and kinda epic sound. It's awesome.
This is a Call - 7.5/10 - Eh, it's alright. A little slow for my liking.
Rawkfist - 10/10 - All right!! This is the one that introduced me to TFK! This song is just so full of energy!
Faith, Love, and Happiness - 9.5/10 - A kinda loud song about paranoia. Reminds me of "Papercut" by Linkin Park. It's got a cool, mysterious beat to it.
I Climb 10/10 - I love this song. The drum patterns in the chorus (I climb/so high/it blows me away sometimes) are simply amazing. This song rocks. ^_^
Quicken - 10/10 - "My life's just like a prison. We shout but no one listens." This song is like my anthem. I love it so much, and the music's great when combined with Trevor's vocals.
New Design - 9/10 - This is the song I listen to when I feel sad or angry. The "sometimes I feel so alone" line in the chorus is just...awesome.
Bounce - 8/10 - More of a dance club song, not really meaningful. Nice beat though.
Ordinary - 10/10 - Don't be fooled by the first few opening notes. They're really mellow, but then it goes into a metallic riff. The way Trevor raps is ill. And the kinda mellow stuff in the middle is cool, sorta like a ballad. This song is definitely one of my faves, too.
Break the Silence - a bazillion/10 - This song is so cool!! ^.^ It changes tempo kind of a lot, but that's what makes it so great. The "no holds barred" part is great, along with the part with the guy at the end (Is he British or something?) Saying "...Bring it on, Bring it on." This song is one of my favorites all-time, for any band. It makes a great ending to the CD.

This CD gets my blood pumping! My favorite tracks are 1-5, especially the title track "Phenomenon", and "Rawkfist". The latter has a bit of a rap vibe to it, as does "Bounce", another one that I like. All the songs are good, but some of them I had to listen to a few times before I liked them. But not the first 5.
An underlying Christian message, but not obvious. I gave it to my stepbrother, just telling him they were a metal band, not Christian, so that he would actually listen to it. You have to listen a few times before you hear it, but it's there. So you can listen to it with your kids in the car, no guilt.
If you like to listen to hard, loud rock but don't like cringing at negative or profane lyrics, PICK IT UP.

Thousand Foot Krutch has changed their sound from album to album, and I think this one sits best with me. The riffs are sweet, the bass lines are catchy, and the drums are anything but typical. And what to say about the vocals... simply put, this guy sings like no one else out there!
I love that they did not write anything on here that they hoped would be a single, perhaps with the exception of Rawkfist, which is my least favourite song on the CD. It just tries too hard to be catchy. That song aside, here's what I think of the rest of the album, song-by-song:
Phenomenon - Good opener... slowly builds from verse to chorus. A lot of rhyming makes it easy to remember!
Step to Me - I love that the entire verse is bass, drums and vocals only. No crunching guitars until the chorus!
Last Words - A song that was inspired by, and will likely impact, those who think about committing suicide. Great message!
This is a Call - The only slow song on the CD, it touches the heart of today's adolescent mind. Uncertainty, insecurity, in search of something strong and true to hang onto.
Faith, Love and Happiness - Another great rocker. Not the most original song, but still a great listen.
I Climb - Written in a minor key, this one's a little on the somber side but very catchy!
Quicken - My favourite song on the CD, perhaps. Great bass line. Awesome lyrics! "The way Your words connect my thoughts!"
New Design - This song rocks! I love the whispering behind the actual vocals... adds a lot of depth to the song!
Bounce - Originally released on X-2003, this one was redone (and improved, might I add) and fits in perfectly with this release.
Ordinary - My favourite part is the "Laugh if that makes me ordinary!" just after the halfway point of the song.
Break the Silence - Good end to the CD. The first couple minutes of the song are somewhat ordinary, but the last minute is sweet!
So there it is, folks. If you don't have this album yet, you're missing out. It is a fine work that can be enjoyed both by Christians (the lyrics hint strongly at the band's faith) and non-Christians (nothing preachy or corny to turn anyone off) alike.
Just plain good - Review written on May 18, 2006

Lets face it; today's music scene is awful. I've pretty much stopped buying records on a regular basis since 2003, and for good reason; almost nothing is worth my time anymore. I don't want to hear a million and one rock/emo/pop bands that ALL sound the same and ALL post cute pictures on their myspace to compensate for their lack of talent. Thankfully, though, there are still a few bands out there worth a listen, and TFK is most definatly one of them. I actually got into this band through their thrid record, the art of breaking, and to this day it's still my favorite tfk record. Phenomenon is a close second though, with an equal ammount of energy and diversity. My only complaint would be that the last three songs are too heavy on the hip-hop (something not found on the art of breaking), but other than that, it's a 5 star listen. Trust me, if I actually think it's worth spending 10 bucks on, it's gotta be good. Buy it.

TFK is an AWSOME and totally underrated band. I mean they're right on top there w/ linkin park even though they're just slightly different. Trevor mcnevan (the singer/songwriter/ guitarist) is one of the most influential and talented artists out there,, way more talented than most of the more well-known artists anyway. He's a kick-ass writer and rhymester, I mean if u ever heard him freestyle rap u would know what im talking about.
So anyway when Rawkfist first came out, it was on the radio ALL THE TIME, and I totally loved the song so I bought the cd basically just for that one song, but when I got to listening to all the other songs I was like "dude, this band kicks ass!!!" they're totally songs u can rock to until u sweat but its not just the music that's good, its also the lyrics, especially Phenomenon, Break the silence and This is a Call, which also is a song that shows the band's softer side. The one and only song that I weren't really into lyrically was Step up to Me cuz I didn't really get it. the lyrics to the chorus were controversial. But other than that, the song is something that u can totally rock to. This band and this cd kick ass.
I recommend this cd to basically anyone who's not stupid. TFK is hard rock meets metal meets alternative rock w/ a side of hip hop and rap and just about anyone can listen to them.
I LOVE U TREVOR!!!

This CD is one of the most controversial I have. It goes from Good rock to slow, from good rythm then to absolutely horrible. All the songs they have are pretty much the same, adding to the annoyance. they do have some good songs though- "Faith,Love and Happiness" , "Last Words" , "New Design" , "Step to Me"
But despite this, the lyrics are extremely controversial such as a line in "Step to Me" -
'I've been as Far you can go, I've learned alot and now I know. You're never gonna get me on the floor again, I"M PREPARED TO TAKE YOU TO THE END. Bring Your whole team and all your friends, but I hope your listenin' Haunt me if you want me, but I'll warn you, If you ever step to me(Again). (Chorus) I sometimes wish that I could fly, HOLD ME TIGHT IN YOUR ARMS TONIGHT, sick of living inside a lie. Alright I can't count the times I've tried, stand alone just to lift you high, YOU"RE MY ANSWER TO THE QUESTION WHY '
HMMMMM.....if you didn't see that as controversial, then you probably never will.
I gave this band's album a 3 cuz they actually do have some good rock in there (despite the lyrics of course).

As most people have probably never heard ot his band Thousand Foot Krutch, I view them as one of the best bands I've ever heard. Their album entitled Phenomenon is just what their music sounds like. Being a Christian rock band in the world today, they are not viewed on the popular places of Tv such as MTV or VH1.
However, that has not stopped one famous song from being heard by many people on this album entitled "Rawkfist". It has been heard by religous people, everyday listeners and could probably be used at a party for drinking music. the sound of this song "Rawkfist" is explosive and gives you the same feeling when you're in the middle of a mosh-pit.
Other songs such as "This is a Call" or "Ordinary" display their views upon life and are not quite as heavy as "Rawkfist". These two have more of a mellow-rock sound but still nothing to try to fall asleep to.
Being a religoius groud, they include messages in their music instead of your death matel yelling and screaming band of how they hate life and are all doped up on drugs. They write songs about living for God and growing up as a Christian. They explain siutations of teenagers and some of the outcomes they choose when they're faced with hard choices in life.
On this album, Phenomenon, their music ranges from hard rock, to light guitar and drums to some screaming. Songs such as "Bounce" and "I Climb", have some of your typical screaming, but in a controlling state, which acually sounds decent. Even then, however, when they're yelling, Thousand Foot Krutch is still trying to send a message, but in a more powerful state of singing perhaps to get the point across a little heavier.
Being viewed as a Christian rock band does not give anyone the right to view them as your stereotypical alleluia, praise the lord type of gospel music. It's not gospel and they are not trying to convert people. They play rock music and most of their songs are about life choices in which most teenagers can relate to and therefore listen to them. I give them a 5 star rating on lyrics, music and performance. These guys are good.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THis album is an amazing album. I only got their album a few months ago, as I heard their song "Phenomenon" on Launch. I thought it was amazing, and I still do! THis has to be one of the best albums I own!!! I mean it, if you're looking for a new album to buy, or a new band to listen to, it should be Thousand Foot Krutch!!! :-) Their music is different and interesting, and I think appeals to people who like different kinds of music, e.g. I like emo/punk/alternative rock/metal and I find this album great to listen to!!
I don't think TFK are a very well known band, I know they're more known in America, which would figure, seen as they're an american band. I just want to say that this band ROCKS. It really does, if you don't believe me, click on a sample track, preferably Phenomenon, Step to me, Last Words, Rawkfist, I climb or New Design. THese are truly amazing songs, and Thousand Foot Krutch are an amazing band!!!!!!!!! Listen to their album!!
To go on some more, it shows in the reviews that people like them as both this album and their previous album got really good average customer reviews. Obviously this album will not appeal to everyone, and this is just my personal opinion, but I would strongly recommend you listen to this album, it really is worth listening to. Also, what is the point in people moaning about the fact that this band are with a christian record company, big deal. Some people should just grow up. ANyway, enough said.

Ok first i saw these guys at Icthus and they rocked. Awsome live show band. Now this CD is good for alot of reasons. Hard Hitting, Deep Meanings, and Catchy as crap. But for every good reason to buy this CD, there is a bad reason. One of them being its good for a while, but gets old. I bought it in January and its now June and im tired of it.
I bought this for the fact of RAWKFIST. Yes the song you been hearin in videogames and on commercials is Rawkfist. At first it was fun and a lively party song. now... old and annoying. I wish i could go to them when they recorded this CD and tell them what to do.
Now for the reason i think its played out. While the drums are good, the other parts of the bad are kinda annoying to me. Guitar and Bass follow each other too much and and vocals are childesh at best. Vocals are flowing every where sometimes jumping notes in the middle of verses. Sounds like an adolecent trying to prove something. Also the songs are alike, if you took the vocals from one song and put it in another tune it would sound the same.
The CD is good for some things, but falls short in the long run and will either make you want something more or try something completly different. I do recomend buying though just, be sure to share it with your friends and family when your done.
