I purchased this item to make it simple for myself to make coffee at my desk and this product accomplished that purpose. Yes, the mugs are dented and they are rather chessy. I don't like "thermo" mugs with plastic instead of stainless steel. But for the price that I paid for this item, I can't complain -- it does make my cup of coffee every morning and afternoon!
GARBAGE! - Review written on January 11, 2007

I picked this coffeemaker up on the "Remanufactured" deal on Amazon. What I did not know was that "Remanufacturered" meant "obvious warranty returns jammed into a new box and resold".

The mugs were FILTHY. With DRIED COFFEE ON THEM. At least I HOPE it was coffee.

The mugs were both dented as if a car had run over them, yet the shipping box and product box had NO DAMAGE WHATSOEVER. Obviously they had been damaged before the "remanufacturing" process.

I'm dissapointed in Amazon for selling this trash.
Nice little machine - Review written on January 11, 2007

I received this machine (non-refurb) as a gift for my birthday. I finally starting using it about a month ago and I am rather happy with the machine. It quickly makes good coffee and is easy to take care of.

Like other reviewers have noted, if you pop open the top lid of the machine after it's done brewing, but still hot, you'll occasionally get a blast of steam out of it. Although the noise suprised me, it hasn't burned me yet....

I usually only make one cup of coffee at a time, but when I did make two at a time, I didn't notice any odd distribution between the two cups.

Speaking of the cups/mugs, they are of good quality and seem to clean out easily. My cuisinart mug is sitting on my desk next to me as a I type this.

Great quality. The cups are awesome. It's got a bit of trouble releasing steam so you gotta be careful not to burn yourself. But it does make a trouble free and quick cup of Joe. BUT garunteed you'll forget the cups at work or in your car.
returned it due to "electrical issues" - Review written on October 23, 2004

I am still waiting for my refund or replacement, as I returned this item immediately as the problem with the electrical (on/off button) were a serious safety issue. I returned this and have heard nothing from Amazon or the manufacturer.

The power switch would give you a slight shock when touching to turn the item on or off, at first I thought it was just me, but after checking it several times my husband and I decided "two-to-go" although very convenient in thought was not worth risking electrical shock, or possible fire due to shortage.

It has been nearly a year since the item was returned and I have had no luck from anyone in regards to a refund or replacement.
Not hot enough - Review written on May 25, 2004

This coffee maker lasted about 8 months for me, and then I started getting luke warm coffee. While it worked, it was great, very convenient and made good coffee, but luke warm coffee is awful, so I have to give this three stars.
Great tasting coffee at a low price - Review written on March 25, 2004

My 23-year old coffee maker finally died, so I purchased a Krups Automatic for about $50. The Krups made either burnt or weak coffee. After two weeks, I gave up and ordered this Cuisinart, knowing that it might not fill the bill. Wow, was I surprised! The coffee taste is great; the construction is excellent, and it performs as advertised. First, I ran plain water through it to see if it leaked or if it filled the mugs improperly. Both tests passed with flying colors. Then I ran a two mug test using ground Melitta coffee. Perfect! Then I ran a single mug test using Savarin medium grind. Perfect again. The 14oz. stainless steel mugs are well made and keep the coffee warm, not hot, for about two hours. (4 stars, not 5 because of this). I like the fact that the unit shuts itself off automatically after it brews the coffee. At $20, it's a steal.
A great coffeemaker - Review written on January 22, 2004

Because of its design, this coffeemaker isn't subject to the kind of clogging that plagues most one-cup coffeemakers. The arrangement of drip holes in the cone is downright ingenious -- no buttons to push or levers to press. And it turns itself off when it's finished. I think it's terrific.

works good, very convenient, grounds do clog it, so you need to spread the filter to eliminate grounds from getting in the mechanism

Dear, don't buy this hunk o' junk. I got one over the summer, thinking it'd be really convenient, but it doesn't work as it's supposed to, hence the reason a Cuisinart product has gone way down in price to $15.99. The whole brewing mechanism gets very clogged, and even repeated washings with vinegar don't clean it properly. You end up with unevenly distributed cups of coffee (one cup with 10 oz., the other with about 4-6 maybe)with grounds floating in them. Yecch! Try another brand instead or get a more traditional coffeemaker.
So far, not so good - Review written on October 16, 2003

I bought this because I read the good reviews, and figured, for the price it was a great deal, even if it's reconditioned. Five minutes ago I went to use it for the first time and all of the water I filled it with started pouring out the bottom. Unfortunately, I have already disposed of the packaging materials, so I can't return it to Amazon. Cuisinart requres me to pay the shipping to send it to them, plus include money for the shipping back, so it will be cheaper for me to try to order another rather than fulfill the product's 90-day warranty(which is not the three year warranty which Amazon is advertising--that seems to have been whited out in my instruction booklet). And also, it does NOT include two paper filters. Hopefully, I can get this worke out, but so far, I'm not impressed
Is there a more convenient coffee maker? - Review written on September 26, 2003

I am used with this coffee maker for over an year now and it just broke. I can't think of buying any other coffee maker because of how convenient this one is.
- No pot to clean
- No transfer of coffee to other container hence preserving heat
- lets you make even one cup coffee
- takes less than 3 minutes to make 2-cup coffee
- easy cleaning

They could have made this a better coffee maker if they used standard starbucks size mugs to fit under instead of having to use only Cuisinart mugs. Well, I can't survive with any other coffee-maker, so, I am grabing my second one!

After only a few days of receiving my Two to Go coffee maker, I knew that it would also be perfect for my office at work. So I quickly purchased a second machine and now I can have a fresh brewed cup of coffee at home and work when I want. The coffee is so hot when it comes out of the machine that unless I am taking it on the road with me, I brew it without the lid on, thus it cools down to a more drinkable tempature. I am going to purchase several for christmas gifts today.
Convenient but cups are not so good - Review written on August 30, 2003

My husband received this item for Christmas of 2002. I love the fact that he can make just 2 cups of coffee to take with him as he walks out of the door and not leave me with half of a carafe of coffee. The only thing that I don't like is that the cups are cheap and have come apart. I don't wash them in the dishwasher but nevertheless, the plastic liners have come away from the steel holders...which means every time I wash the cups I have to dry both the liner and the steel outer shell and then push the plastic liner back into the steel sleeve.
Cheap and Fantastic - Review written on July 10, 2003

As my other purchases - I am always looking for a bargain! This coffee maker makes great coffee. I love it!

Easy to make just one cup as I normally do. Two cups would take a mucho longer time but for 1 cup its perfect for the morning. No fuss maker. Just put water, coffee and mug and hit one button after you are are dressed for work. By the time you put on your shoes and collect your accessories (car key's, wallet, laptop, etc) the coffee would be ready and good to go.

The Covers latch on easily and despite my crazy driving the coffee does not spil out when kept in my cup holder.

Cup is too big for the font cup holders of my jetta which can only hold soda cans. But it fits just fine in the cup holder between the two front seats (behind the central storage compartment).

Cups keep the coffee warm. Though the maker itself does not make the coffee hot enough for those who like to spill it on themselves and then sue Starbucks. Its hot enough that I can start sipping immediately. Do not purchase if you wanted super heated coffee.

.... The coffee does not come out steaming hot like I like it! The coffee is not equally distributed in each cup due to a slight tilt in the filter basket. The filter basket constantly gets clogged even when using the required Melita cone filter.(I tried the natural and the white filters.) When it gets clogged, you have a mess on your countertop if you are not there watching it. All around, this product is mediocre.. and probably the stainless steel travel cups are worth the price of the item.

I am back to my commercial Bunn always ready coffee maker with fresh ground beans with my 2 glass pots(one decaf and one regular) and loving it! It takes about 2 minutes to brew each pot with no wait time. My wife and I drink a lot of coffee.
