The best rotary tool ever!!! - Review written on August 08, 2008

This is a great product. I highly recommend it. It's very powerful and there are so many different applications for the flex-shaft adapter (which is the main reason I purchased this kit). The price on Amazon.com was great because it was an open box item but this is easily worth about 50% more than the highest price you can buy it for.

The only downside is that you're really only buying the dremel, flex-shaft, and case. There isn't a very wide variety of tasks you can perform with the included accessories. So an additional accessory assortment is a must.

In my opinion, rotary tools are very useful. I have both the rotozip and the dremel tool. I can't say for the rotozip but I can say for the dremel is that is meant for light duty (Both are made by the same company). I bought this kit but my storage box was a bit different. As with most bosch tools I have found that if they give you a storage box... it barely holds what comes in the box, don't buy anything else for the tool and expect to store it in storage box enclosed. Mine lasted about 5 years but I rarely used it. When I did use it, I typically used it pretty hard. I had it running for about 15-20 minutes cutting off wooden dowels when mine died. I would recommend this tool but be sure to let it cool off and don't use it for long periods at one time. Use the rotozip for the heavy stuff.

The Dremel arrived promptly and was easy to use. The instructions were clear, and the tool worked as described, no complaints here.

I love my MultiPro - Review written on March 09, 2008

Rating: 4 out of 5

This tool have a nice range of applications, most of which I haven't had a chance to try yet. Available accessories (sold separately) include router bits, router table, and plunge attachment. I currently use my MultiPro for routing, and I look forward to trying engraving in the future, as well as other features.

Most of the accessories that come with the kit are for grinding and sanding. I would like to see a wider range of bits come with the MultiPro, because to the consumer making the initial purchase and reading the product description, it appears there would be more. That is my only complaint so far.

Although I know this is a very specific market niche, I would like to see a Dremel-sized jig for creating dovetail and box joints. I make wood boxes and found that available ready-made jigs are intended for the standard full-size routers. So I have learned to get by making the boxes without box joints...but box joints would give a more polished look.

I recently purchased a new dremel series 400. My old black style dremel lasted for 7 years of abuse and finally wore out . During 2 minutes of light duty with the new 400 series dremel it started to smoke and get extremley hot! FIRE HAZARD?! Needless to say it diddnt work anymore. Thinking this a fluke I went to another hardware store and purchased a 300 series adjustable speed dremel. Guess what? SAME THING!!!!! I would highly not reccomend dremel tools because they obviously have gone to cheap components with this new generation. PASS IT ON!

As a visual artist working in paper mache i have found this tool to be invaluable in my work. detail work or rough hack and slash, whether or not i am sculpting or fixing a piece there is a head suited for my purpose. I keep the precision i had with hand tools and gain speed.
as far as carving gourds, except for rare occasions, i will never carve manually again. the dremel makes my work accident free, precise and speedy!

I gave this item as a gift so I can't personally vouch for it's functionality. But I've promised to borrow it sometime and I'll update my remarks at that time. Nevertheless, the recipient was very impressed and he's a man who knows his tools. Dremel has a reputation for being a very good product.

By now everyone knows that a rotary tool like the Dremel is a great tool to have in your shop. Since I bought this I've used it for dozens of things I never imagined using it for. Detail sanding, cutting sheet aluminum, smoothing rough edges on metal, cutting bolts, freehand routing, the list goes on. You'll be amazed at how often you find yourself reaching for this tool.

Dremel is the top name in rotary tools. In my opinion, this is the "serious duty" model of the dremel line. AC power means you'll never have to deal with a partially charged battery, and you'll always get the same delivered power. The variable speed is a necessity to perform the different tasks you'll ask it to do.

My Dremel has performed very well for the few months that it has been in service. It is constructed of quality materials and built within tight tolerances. Don't be fooled by the "77 Accessories" part of the title...most of these are pieces of sandpaper, polishing wheels and grinding discs. However, you need these pieces to get the job done. The flexible shaft attachment is very nice to have for those hard to reach places. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I bought this for my husband who was less than thrilled by it. I used it a few times and it worked okay. The packing case was a big dissapointment, very poorly designed and one of the cutting tools arrived broken which was not surprising considering how poorly they were packed. I was happy when my husband finally took it out to use it and it died halfway through the job. Just stopped working for no apparent reason. Let's hope the warrenty is better than the tool. Update: I sent the product to the manufacturer to get it fixed or replaced. I had given up hope of ever seeing anything returned after more than 6 months of waiting when finally a package came with the replacement for it. Very, Very slow response!!

I bought this for a special job and it worked perfectly. The set included a special guide and stone to sharpen rotary mower blades. I tried it and it made a world of difference in the cutting power of my 4 year old blade.
Be sure to wear hearing protection because it does put out sound that can damage your hearing!!!

I purchased this after borrowing one from a friend a few times. This one has enough power and variable speeds for all of my projects. I have even cut glass with it. One negative is the chuck has stripped so I can not use the little wrench that came with it but need to use pliers instead.

This tool has very high build quality and is extremely versatile. Very useful for those annoying situations where you need to get into some tight corner or do some fiddly work that heavier tools can't do.
I've punished this tool and it's held up quite well so far, though it's a bit llight on power and the accessories can be a bit expensive. Some of the cutting bits do not perform as well as you might like but overall it's pretty good.

The tool itself is nice, and the flex shaft is nice, but for the most part, I found the accessories to be useless. I got the tool for wood carving and there wasn't even a wood carving bit in the batch. I had to wait till the hardware store opened to actually use the machine for what I intended. Once I got some bits, the machine worked to expectation.

Best price of anywhere that I found was here at Amazon.Great little unit, works great and comes with a lot of accesories to get you started. The only weakness I found was in the case design, should have been made to lock the unit securely into place inside, other than that a great unit.

I got this basically for free from Amazon. One of those $75 off $200 deals. I bought a $125 item, then tacked this on at a cost of $75... so basically free.

In my opinion, this thing is practically useless. I've tried to use it for various tasks, but have found I already have a different tool that does the job better. Maybe if you don't have a good assortment of grinders and polishers, this would come in handy.

The quality of the tool seems to be very good however.

The actual tool itself seems to be quite good but the quality of the accesories are quite questionable. The cutting blade broke on me 45 seconds into using it. I used it to cut a baseboard! Not like trying to slice titanium rebars or anything.!

Great little tool that can save you time and aggravation on many little jobs/projects around the house. Easy to use but the only warning is to "GO SLOW", when cutting or grinding. For two reasons, 1) it will work faster than you expect, so you may overdo what ever you are attempting to accomplish. 2) if you put too much pressure on the work surface, you will wear out whatever attachment you are using, really fast. I went through a bunch, that I just have to toss now, as the abrasive surface is gone. I guess I am partially to blame for being overzealous, but I feel the quality/longevity of the individual grinders, cutters could be better.

I have had this for a little over a month now and have found it worth what it cost. The case is nice and the accessories are a nice added benefit. Too bad its 'hecho in mehico' though. I am not sure if I would buy it again, but as I have used it so far, it has been handy. Might buy for gift.

Its a Dremel, what else is there to say. My low rating comes from the package arriving with no handle on the box and a number of the small disks to grind things broken in half.

It turns fine. I wish the RPM speed went a bit lower for my use.

This is my first Dremel tool purchase. Up till now, I didn't feel the need to buy one. But after getting it, I have used it for a few tasks like sanding wood and cutting plastic, and sharpening my mower blade. I purchased the right angle attachment to this dremel and I find that is very usefull to have. I am very pleased with this purchase.
