Good music... - Review written on February 09, 2005

This CD is great...just as well as the first one. I love "These are the Days" I think it is my favorite song on the CD. The CD is not as boy bandish as the first one but it is still a boy band so it will have that sound to it. But I think they grew up and were heading in the right direction before they ended it. If you liked the first CD or liked any of the boy bands that came out at the time Backstreet, Nsync, etc. Then I would recomemnd this CD to you.

Give it a CHANCE - Review written on August 21, 2004

1st thought for everyone. GIVE IT A CHANCE! Despite all the speculation they've gotten and crap from the critics, you'll never know until you listen for yourself. Going into this album of course I expected the best, because I have been a fan of o-town since the first days on MTB.. But despite all that I will give you an honest opinion from a big o-town fan.

WORD OF ADVICE: purchase the album and see for yourself. Also.. Go see them in CONCERT.. if you weren't a fan before or only a little big of one I bet anything you'll have a lot more respect for them by the time you walk out of that door.

(( From The Damage )) Amazing song. Lead vocals by Ashley are amazing. Live its even better.. Yet again all O-Town songs are better live! lol
(( These Are the Days )) wouldn't be my choice for first single, but still an incredible song. Has true to life lyrics "these are the days / when all that I can do is dream / but I don't wanna spend forever / living in the in-between..." awesome open by Jacob, middle by Erik, and Daniel finishing it up BEAUTIFULLY!
(( I Only Dance With You )) great beat. Makes you wanna get up and 'dance' ironically.. Remake of George Michael.. You know he would be proud ;]
(( Favorite Girl )) at first I was skeptic about this one.. Sounded very different. After seeing it in concert I was hooked. Fantastic energy. Trevor's verse is well-needed. yeahh for trev!
(( I Showed Her )) first time hearing left me stunned with no words to explain. It is an amazing song and very heart felt. Dan and Erik-Michael - you guys did an amazing job! Only down-fault .. Where's everyone else?? lol
(( Been Around The World )) Ashley "lookin for my baby but she's nowhere in sight" your voice is incredible. just that line alone makes me love this song even more. Seems very true to O-Towns crazy life. overall it makes you wanna sing along.
(( Make Her Say )) ..weird opening. the lyrics could have had more depth, but still this song is very catchy. EME - Erik Michael Estrada - you did your thing baby! yehhh ;D
(( The Joint )) awesome! I can see it being played at a club. again great job Erik!
(( Suddenly )) absolutely LOVE this song. This is one of the strongest songs on the album. The opening verse by Ashley is very very strong and makes you wanna listen even more. Dan your voice on this song is amazing! it gives me chills up and down my body. SPECTACULAR JOB GUYS!
(( Craving )) holly.. WOW! this ones EVEN BETTER then Suddenly - if that's even possible - this one really leaves me speechless. Defiantly should have been a SINGLE!! The one chorus when the music dies down and its just o-town singing is the most incredible part. while listening it makes my mind wonder into much deeper thought, which is a very very good thing. OVERALL: BEST SONG ON THE ENTIRE ALBUM! in love with it.
(( Over Easy )) again great vocals by Ashley. flat out it's just a very good song. ;] great job live!
(( Girl Like That )) after hearing Dan, Trev, Ash, and Rich puttin it together on MTB ive been waiting for this one. It's even better than I expected. Daniel you open it up beautifully! again your voice is amazing, even in an up tempo song. good job Trevor!!!! I love hearing your voice.
(( You Can't Lose Me )) wasn't really feelin this one at first, but after reading the lyrics I see that it does have depth. What can I say Diane Warren is an amazing composer!

Pros of Entire album; overall it is everything I expected and more. GREAT JOB by every member of O-Town. GO AND SEE THEM PERFORM O2 LIVE.. it's even more amazing! YOU'RE TALENT AND VOICES WILL ALWAYS SHINE THROUGH!!

Cons of Entire album; disappointed that American Game and Death Wish were cut from the album. They would have been hits. with those songs the album would have been even more spectacular! .. TREVOR WHERE ARE YOU!!? .. also Death to Clive.

RECOMMENDED!

I've been a fan of O-Town since their Making The Band days and I loved their debut CD initially but I eventually grew tired of it and I haven't listened to it since November 2001. O2 is such a refreshment from their old work. This CD definitely has a rock element to it but there are some of your usual pop songs that remind you of their first CD like Favorite Girl and Girl Like That. Can they not stop recording songs with "girl" in the title and all through the chorus? On the first CD their was Girl and Shy Girl... Though there are a couple of songs on here that I don't like(The Joint, Make Her Say-I HATE that one) the ones I do like are so great that the others don't matter. These Are The Days is the song that prompted me to buy this CD. That has to be one of my favorite songs in the past five years. There are many others that I love but From The Damage is absolutely the strongest song they've ever done. Girl Like That is your typical pop song and it sounds great but the tongue ring lyrics etc turns me off. I give these songs:
From The Damage- 5/5
These Are The Days- 5/5
I Only Dance With You- 4/5
Favorite Girl- 3/5
I Showed Her- 2/5
Been Around The World- 5/5
Make Her Say- 0/5
The Joint- 1/5
Suddenly- 5/5
Craving- 1/5
Over Easy- 4/5
Girl Like That- 4/5
You Can't Lose Me- 4/5
I know some of the songs only garnered one star and I didn't give any stars to one of them. But I absolutely love this CD as a whole and the great songs deserve more than five stars!

When this cd first came out, I immeadiately rushed out the mall to buy this cd. The cd came w/a bonus dvd. So as soon as I got in my car I popped in my cd player and turned it up all the way. I loved it. Each song was so awesome!!! I especially loved Jacob's solo's. He sounded so much more matured. In fact, each one of the guys did on each song. The songs were completely different from their debut cd. They definietly grew with this cd. My favorite songs are From the Damage and Craving. They definetly gave each group who was on the billboard charts a run for they money!!!!!

When the boybands themselves start realizing that the "boyband era" as we know it is dead and change the style of music they sing, it leaves little doubt that the genre's days are severely numbered. "O2" is perhaps the most striking shift in sound that I've ever witnessed between two consecutive albums by the same artist. Ashley, Jacob, Erik, Dan, and Trevor did a very smart thing by trading in the "same-old lame-old" hormonal high-school synth-pop droning that plagued their debut album, in favor of the guitar-and-drums foundation of a more rough-around-the-edges, r&b/rock hybrid sound. The result is a much better album, not just in terms of the music, but in terms of the vocals as well. This music better complements their less-than-perfect (but still good) voices, and the guys sound like they know it. The passion they put into their vocals this time around tells us that this is the kind of music they've wanted to make from the start.

The album starts out strongly with the mid-tempo rocker "From The Damage" and their first single "These Are The Days". The album does seem to "re-lapse" into boyband pop occasionally, with unremarkable tracks like "Favorite Girl" and "Girl Like That", but bounces right back with the top-notch soft ballad "I Showed Her", and the excellent power ballad "Craving". And the O-Town boys also prove that they still have a good dance-pop tune in them with the surprisingly catchy "The Joint".

One of the disappointments on the album is "I Only Dance With You", which incorporates part of George Michael's "Careless Whisper" (the music of the chorus, with approximated lyrics). Sorry, but I just don't like these "half-covers" like Sean ("P. Whatever-He-Calls-Himself-This-Week") Combs does. I'd rather have a straightforward cover, thank you ... and I get one on this album with the fairly decent "Been Around The World". It's not 100% faithful to the original tune, but just different enough to keep my interest.

I suppose that if there's one thing we can thank Lou Pearlman for, it's for giving these young guys who want to be pop stars their big break. As schmaltzy and unimagintative as most of these boybands' first albums are, they have invariably gone on to make better music, and O-Town is no exception. This album may not be fantastic, but I'm hoping that we'll see a third album from them, to see how much closer to fantastic they get.

When I bought this album I was already a huge O-Town fan. I really liked their first album. But being the big fan that I am, I knew that most of the guys were really into rock and I also knew that the O-town guys worked really hard in order to make this album great. They wrote as many as 30 or 40 songs to be potential tracks on the album. But Clive Davis weeded through them to find the best ones. And they eventually got half of the album to be written by O-Town themselves. So knowing all of this, I figured I knew what to expect from this CD. But I can't tell you how much it surprised me. This Cd is such a mix of different types of music that I really feel almost anyone could enjoy this album. My favorite song would have to be Craving. It seriously gives me chills. I also love I Only Dance with You, The Joint, and Girl Like That for the more popish sound that makes you want to dance. And then I Showed Her is such a beautiful song with great vocals. I really recommend this CD!! Also if you ever get a chance to see them live, you really should, they put on a great show.

This CD, unlike the 1st effort by O-Town, has SUBSTANCE. There are far less sexual references (if any at all), and the sound is just totally different from the 1st CD. Can you believe it- There many tracks on this album that could pass as soft rock! Beautiful guitar playing mixed with beautiful voices (and no cheesy pop ...!) makes O2. This CD is a must have. I advise you to listen to "Craving". This is by far the best track on this CD. Yearning for that special someone? Listen to that song while you are "craving" that person and I promise you wll get chills. Favorite Girl is also heart-wrenching and has substance.

I give it a 4 out of 5 because "Make Her Say" is not such a good track. It's the only rap song on here and I can't stand rap. I was surprised that this was put on here. I love this CD. Get it!

When I first heard O-town's new CD O2 is coming out, i did not really care for it, but when I actually borrowed it from a friend, it seriously blew me away. The songs they had were not too pop, and not too alternative, creating a balance of the two; I guess you could say it is Alternative-Pop. Seriously, O2 is perhaps one of the best created PopRockAlternative CD ever (or maybe it is just one of the few). The lead singer has a great voice with a very well composed band to back him and the others up. This beach, Dashboard Confessional Feel is exactly the type that i was looking for and expected no less.

This CD earns 5 Stars only because It is a CD I cannot stop listening to, and will increasingly listen to it constantly. I have had this CD since I last borrowed it from a friend, and that was the day it came out (perhaps months). Personally, I never listen to a CD more than a few weeks since I get tired of songs fast, but for some reason, not this one. I recently gave the CD to my friend to borrow (uh-oh), and even though he is in to just plain Hip-Hop/R&B, he likes Otown - O2, what can one say about that? Every person that listened to Otown - O2, regardless of what they say before even listening to it ("i dont like Otown" or "what in the world? I don't listen to pop" "hahahaha" or even "I listen only to Rap or Hip Hop" LOVED This CD.

Songs Recommended (even though all are great or excellent) are:

From the Damage : 1st song i heard from the CD and when i heard it, I wanted to hear more.

These are the Days : Hit Song; yet i say more?

I showed Her : Great Slow Jam, almost impeccable and beats out many Ebony Slowjams.

Suddenly : Breathless, will relate to many with relationships

Craving : amazing, This song will definitely create a craving mood.

Over Easy : This Song solidified my belief that this CD was one of the Greats, original beginning, perfect tempo, beach lyrics, what more do you need?

Girl Like that : Personally, my favorite PopSong; its funny and has lyrics like, "Aint gotta stop at in-n-out, and get a #3, but hold the onions please." Quite Hilarious with a dancing beat and catchy chorus.

I was a big fan of O-Town's first album, as derivative as it was... The second album shocked me in a very good way! With the exception of two songs, the cd is something I listen to on a very regular basis! There are very few cds in my collection that I can say the same thing for. "I Showed Her" is one of the most heartbreaking songs I have heard in years, "Favorite Girl" makes me want to dance everytime, and a couple other songs could even pass as Goo-Goo Dolls- which speaks volumes about how this band has grown!

All right. I've read through some of these reviews and many of them just seem kind of cheezy and unreliable. (Basically, they seem to all be written by little girls). I'm just saying, if you want an honest and real opinion about the music on this CD from a real musician, keep reading.

When O-Town came out the first time, i have to admit i was watching with the rest of the world. This kind of stuff is interesting and good entertainment at that. My personal music tastes range from A to Z - You name it, i've probably got the CD. Anyway, O-Town's first CD was clearly a basic pop record that I enjoyed. Standouts for me were Sensitive, Shy Girl, Love should be a crime, and We fit together. However, like most pop records, it had its cheeziness but overall a good CD.

This new one definitely puts them in a new category but as many have expressed, we don't know exactly which one! There is a great diversity of music on this record. Overall i give it about 3 stars. It has some really great tracks along with some really cheezy ones.

The guys definitely practiced their writing skills, some of which were better than others. Ashley Angel's songs "From the Damage", "Craving", and "Suddenly" (my favorite tracks) are clearly the best. They have an edge to them that is not the typical O-town sound and the lyrics are clearly better than those of the other tracks. He definitely shines on this record and dare i say outshines others like JC Chasez and Jennifer Love Hewitt by far. Personally, I think Ashley's rockier tracks (no doubt comparable to the sound of one of my personal favorites The Goo Goo Dolls) are the best of the CD. Like others of you have expressed, I too wonder why "American Game" and "Deathwish" did not appear on the album. In concert, these songs stood out to me as it did to many of you. Those would have been great songs on the album that may have persuaded me to give it 4 stars. The Music on this CD is excellent. The lyrics are where the album falters. If one was available, i would buy a CD of just the instrumental music from this album.

Songs like "Over Easy" and "These are the Days" have a different sound but are overall enjoyable (basic pop with some new stuff added). I don't think "These are the Days" was the best choice for the lead single. Although it seems to be the logical one. Its new and different but not too new for their original fan base. "Days"'s lyrics could improve some also. . contains some cheezy overused pop phrases.

The Hip-Hop/R&B sounding tracks like "Favorite Girl" and "Girl Like That" have decent beats but again the Lyrics just aren't that great. Slightly better, "I only dance with you" has an excellent beat (similar to something Usher sounding) but the lyrics leave me lost. Same with "Been Around the World." Each of these has their good lines and stories but to me they just aren't expressed the best way. Although to some appealing, to me its just not the best they can do. Again the music outshines the lyrics.

"Make her say" is very interesting (sounds very Nelly-like). I actually like this track. Its just one of those great party songs. A great concert opening song. The pop fans will like this one alot!
"You can't Lose Me" is a basic pop track also. Pop fans will like this one as well. The lyrics to this one are very sweet and sincere (Basic Boyband material). Good way to end the record.

The only ballad "I Showed her" is a great pop ballad and will most likely be a single. It easily could be called The Return of "All or Nothing" but better. I love the piano, which goes great with Erik and Dan's vocals.

Speaking of vocals, simply my opinion, but i believe that Dan, Erik, and Ashley should work together just themselves. Ashley is clearly a born musician with great talents and Erik and Dan clearly have the strongest vocals and can write great beats. As for Jacob and Trevor, again my opinion, i'm just not feeling the music that they're bringing to the table. (Not to mention in the show, both of them just got on my nerves - of course so did the whole Ashley/Shelly drama - I think he can do better that her!)

As for Clive Davis, the man certainly knows alot about the music business so i wouldn't be dogging on him. The Business makes mistakes but overall, we all know that this man pretty much knows what he's talking about.

Improvement? I believe anyone can improve in whatever they do (Especially in music). For the guys, overall a great record. You can't really compare it to the first because of the different sounds (I'm actually going to make an O-town mix with my favorite songs, leaving out the cheezy ones). My advice for O-Town, better lyrics which hopefully will come with growing as musicians. (Note to Ashley: I like your stuff alot. Keep it up) I can't wait to see what the guys put out next. Hope this review was helpful to all of you - but its just my opinion.

I haven't listened to the whole c.d, only the clips shown here on Amazon. But I have listened to "These are The Days" and "From The Damage", and I really love both of those songs. I think O-Town has grown a lot since their last album. I did enjoy their last album, but it was too "boy-bandish". They've really grown since then, and it's refreshing to see a band that can grow musically and come out the better for it. The only problem I have with this album is their knock-off of "Careless Whisper" by Wham, in their song "I Only Dance With You". That was a good song, and no offense, but their version of it (or whatever that is) is not so good.
O-Town, O2 - Review written on February 03, 2003

Rating: 5 out of 5

After releasing their debut MULTI-PLATINUM album, O-Town is back and better than ever with 'O2'; an amazing sophomore album, showing new abilities from O-Town and proving they are NOT a "boy-band" anymore. O-Town consists of Ashley Parker Angel; 21, Dan Miller; 22, Trevor Penick; 23, Erik-Michael Estrada; 23, and Jacob Underwood; 22.

After watching them on "Making the Band", every Friday nights on ABC, I picked up their debut album, entitled "O-Town", on January 23rd, 2001. After listening to it, I knew they were going to be a smash hit, and I continued to follow the guys through their long journey in O-Town.

Waiting for 'O2' was a difficult process, but the end result was amazing. After being changed almost 10 times, O-Town finally released their sophomore album, 'O2', on November 12th, 2002 (2 days after my b-day!). I bought it the first day it came out, and realized what they were talking about when O-Town said "they've taken a new direction with their music".

Songs like "From The Damage", "Suddenly", "Craving" (ALL written by O-Town's Ashley Parker Angel), and their first single, "These Are The Days", are amazing tracks, with hard/soft rock sounds to them. "I Showed Her", the guys' NEW second single, is an emotional ballad, sort of a continuing of "All Or Nothing". "The Joint" and "Make Her Say" are hip-hop songs with a bit of rap to them, written by O-Town's Erik-Michael Estrada. O-Town has successfully written half their 'O2' album; 6 out of 13 songs. The guys show determination, passion, and a love for music, as it shines through in their new album. O-Town member, Dan Miller, says that "if you listen to this album, at first you won't recognize that's it's actually O-Town, and that's what we want".

The album comes with a free movie pass, it is enhanced, and comes with screensavers, icons, skins, and more! Plus, you get a sneek peek at their new DVD, entitled, "O-Town: An Exclusive VIP Look", which is IN STORES NOW!

In closing, all I can say about 'O2' is, "absolutely incredible". This album not only shows the "new" O-Town but it shows how they've grown; as songwriters, and as artists' that I've learned to respect A LOT. If you pick this album up, it's one album you WILL NOT regret! Go get it, in stores now!!

O2 is a collection of what?? After listening I'm not sure where this band is headed. It's obvious they have moved in a different direction from their first album and it's evident from the albums place on the billboard charts. O2 will fade into oblivion without a strong single to back it up. These are the days is not it.
Lou Perlman gets dumped and the band soars to new heights - Review written on January 13, 2003

All right, I am not afraid to admit that I, a full grown adult, like a boy band. But hey, I am a musician, and I love what is on this album. And all I can say is, thank goodness O-Town dumped Lou Perlman. While I liked the first O-Town album (popcorn as it was), it was obviously very strained as the "boys" were forced to yield to Lou's idea of what O-Town should be. This album represents the liberation of O-Town with music that is more relaxed and un-boy-band, marking this band's split from the traditional NSYNC and BSB formula. Therefore, it is my great pleasure to review this album.

One striking accomplishment on this album is that fully 6 songs were co-written by members of O-Town. And unlike other bands which have a few, mediocre, token songs on the album written by band members (sorry JC), these songs are actually credible.

To start, Ashley Parker Angel cowrites 3 songs. His are the best. "From the Damage" is a driving rock song with plenty of guitar action. Ashley has the primary vocals on this song. This song gets an A. Ashley also writes "Suddenly" and "Craving" which receive an A- and a B respectively. Actually Craving is a great song if you ignore the lyrics which are just plain scary. Ashley, are you trying to tell us something? Suddenly is much better with a more laid-back feel, a pseudo-Beatles musical composition, and a great vocal mix.

Erik Michael Estrada cowrites 2 songs on this album. These two, "Make Her Say" and "The Joint" get a C- and a C+ respectively. Make Her Say is just kind of loud and chaotic and not well organized. It just did not quite make the grade. The Joint is a little funkier with an average dance beat, but I think I just prefer Ashley's songs better.

"Girl Like That" is cowritten by Dan Miller, Trevor Pennick, and Ashley. This song is the most "boy-band" of the 13 songs on this album but it is still very catchy. Since it gets stuck in my head, I will give it an A-.

The absolute best A+ song on this album is "These Are the Days". I have been listening to that song about 4 times a day since I got the album. Despite the corny sounding electronic organ at the beginning, this song quickly progresses into a very laid-back guitar base with lyrics I actually like. Clearly O-Town's best work to date.

Other tracks include:
"I Only Dance with You": Progeny of George Michael's Careless Whisper. A valiant effort = B+
"Favorite Girl": I can't get this saucy song out of my head either. A-.
"I Showed Her": The token ballad on this album and a good one at that. Decent lyrics. Catchy tune. Cudos on vocals provided by Dan and Erik. A+.
"Been Around the World": Great for the car. Nice vocals by Ashley. A.
"Over Easy": Great Song. B+
"You Can't Lose Me": Another ballad by Diane Warren, of course. Tolerable, but not as good as Baby I Would. Gets a B.

All in all, this album is far superior to O-Town's first album. This album exhibits innovation, vocal and musical quality, and fun. Sure, this is a boy band. Sure, the music is corny. But get over it. Pretend you are young again and have fun with it. Congratulations Ashley, Erik, Dan, Jacob, and Trevor. You have come a long way!

This cd is great! It has a much rockier sound than their last one. This new sound is them. They want to show the world that this is the real O-Town. At first when I heard that the new album was going to be a lot rockier than the last one I was thinking "will it be any good?". I previewed some of the songs from it online and was blown away! Their new sound is unbelievable! It is rock mixed with pop,r&b,and even hip-hop! There is something for everybody on this album. You've got your rock:From the damage, you've got your pop:I showed her and suddenly, you've got your r&b:these are the days, you've got your hip-hop:girl like that-one of my favorites. Great party song.I love it! Wonderful album! Definetly buy it! Well worth your money! Trust Me! Don't listen to those haters!

This is one of my favorite CDs ever! :) This shows that O-Town isn't "O-Town" anymore if you know what I mean. This shows that O-Town isn't just a "boy band" (this music isn't "typical boy band" music). *Applause for O-Town*

1. These Are The Days-nice, rock song. This song gives the alert to listeners "this sound is different".

2. From The Damage-similar to #1. Part of this is confusing but it's all good. One of my faves!

3. I Only Dance With You-I like the storyline in the lyrics!

4. Favorite Girl-gosh I love these lyrics! :)

5. I Showed Her-I don't like this song. It's too...slow. Not to mention "pathetically sad."

6. Been Around The World-LOVE THIS SONG! Lyrics AND beat! :) End is sad! :(

7. Make Her Say-LOVE THIS SONG! It kind of sounds like something B2K would sing. This song is HILARIOUS! :)

8. Joint, The-so-so. Catchy! :)

9. Suddenly-THIS IS ONE OF MY TWO ULTIMATE FAVORITES ON THIS ALBUM! THE LYRICS ARE PERFECT! :)

10. Craving-the chorus for this song ("...I've got this CRAVING...") goes through your head when you're bored. LOVE THIS SONG! :)

11. Over Easy-before I bought this album and listened to sound clips, I loved this song and this song was the only one I liked. Now it's one of my LEAST favorites! But it's still good! :)

12. Girl Like That-"typical boy band" song but still good! :)

13. You Can't Lose Me-THE SECOND ONE OF MY TWO ULTIMATE FAVORITES! THIS SONG IS SO SWEET! WHOEVER WROTE IT (DON'T HAVE THE ALBUM COVER WITH ME) IS TALENTED AND ROMANTIC! MY MOM SAID, "AWWW!" WHEN SHE HEARD THIS SONG! THIS SONG IS LOVED BY MY MOM & ME! :)

GET THIS ALBUM! :)

OK...I'm into the whole pop boyband thing, and I liked the first album a lot, I mean A LOT. With this one, I don't even know where to begin. They tried to take their music in a completely different direction, and if you ask me, totally failed. They were really good, and now I can't stand them. It seemed as though they were forced to write music, and tried way too hard. My sincere advice to the consumer reading this is buy the Justin Timberlake album instead, you'll be much more satisfied.

I really like O-Town's new CD. I liked their previous one as well. Their sound in O2 is new and different but you can still hear the spirit of the band coming through. Some people say that O-town needs to find their "sound" and that maybe then their albums will be of higher quality but I don't feel this way. I think that the mixture of different sounds (types of music) makes the O-Town sound so special. O2 is definitly not leaving my CD player for a long time or at least until O-Town once again blows us away will yet another hit CD.

This album is absolutely awful music!!! This album is music for pre teen girls, but certainly not anyone with a mature taste in music. I really find it hard to believe anyone could actually stand to listen to this stuff! This is bland, boring, pointless, tasteless, immature music.I hope these guys never make an attempt at music again!! Your money is better spent elsewhere.Stop massive-musical decline and buy something with flavor (like Justin Timberlake)

When are we going to be able to rate albums with zero stars? This doesn't deserve the 1 star I gave it!!!

This is a good Cd as me and friends say but there isnt much advertising for it. Yes it is on the radio but a good CD like this one needs more publication than it has. I ask my friends in different states it they have heard of it they say yes but only one song and they do not want to buy the whole CD for one song. So it is a great CD but needs more publication.

I agree with the other person who pointed out that the boys needed more control! I can list 5 tracks I genuinely like on the album, 3 were written by Ashley (a member of the group) and the other 2 have a very very similar sound to those. The 3 tracks written by Ashley are "From The Damage", "Craving", and "Suddenly" all wonderful pop-rock tracks trying to take a step towards Goo Goo Dolls or The Calling instead of a step the other way. The other 2 tracks that I like are "These Are The Days" and "Over Easy". TATD has unlimited potential to be a huge hit if only people would give it a chance I agree that it wasn't the best choice as a lead off single but I also think another mentioned single "A Girl Like That" is much to weak and similar to other songs to hold the public's attention!
Clive needs to stop messing around he left 2 tracks off the album ("American Game" and "Meant For You") that were both good songs written by Jacob and Dan (group members) that were well recieved by the fans when they were played on tour? Why? AG would have been an awesome lead single and MFY is a cute love song that is really truthful! Listen to the guys they know what their saying!
P.S. The Diane Warren Ballad it sucked lets leave her off future O-Town albums!

Ok as many o-town fans know the release of O2 was pushed back 10+ times the original release date was sometime in June or July. Clive Davis seems to have lost his touch in music. The boys of o-town having submited 38+ songs for this album, only recived 6 out of 13 songs on the album wiritten by them. Two song that i know were worth of O2 , that disappointed MANY fans were 1. American Game, which yes is on the These Are The Days single, but it still should have made it to O2. 2.Death Wish, death wish the guys preformed as part of their O2 Preview tour and was much much much more rockier then any of the songs on O2 now. Clive Davis i think was afraid to put the guys into one Style of music and tried to please too many people on O2 some of the songs are just plain old corny pop. For o-town fans all we can do is hope and pray that either the guys DO get driped from J records and picked up w/another lable who will give them the freedom to write what they want. or that Clive Davis will see them for their real talents because they are very talented writters and their talents need to be seen.

I love O-Town, don't get me wrong but in comparison to their first album this one is BORING! The only song that held my interest is "I Only Dance With You". It seems as though they tried harder on their first album than on this one. When I was listening at first I thought I bought a heavy metal CD. All I'm saying is that if you want this album wait until it hits the "Bargin Bin"!!

I loved their first CD, but this one is even better. The guys have really proven their talents on this album. My personal favorites: Song 4 - "Favorite Girl" is funky and awesome. Song 5 - "I Showed Her" surpasses "All or Nothing," which is not an easy task. It is such a beautiful song. Song 13 - "You Can't Lose Me" is sweet and uplifting. This is a great CD. It speaks to a variety of people. I would definitely recommend it.
O-Town Takes Their Music To A Higher Level - Review written on December 04, 2002

O-Town's sophmore album [J/BMG records. Not JIVE as Joel Rose stated] shows great dedication towards music, and showcases talent in the voices and writing skills of these five young men. Not only does this album make it easier for one to look past the innocence of O-Town's first album, criticism based mainly off of their television show, listening to O2 turns one into a fan. From ballads like "Craving", to the r&b groove, "Girl Like That" to rock-influenced "From The Damage", this album has been well produced, and songs well chosen. O-Town has co-written half the album, and the songs they contributed are some of the most strongest on the album. This album embarks a higher level on which O-Town can perform at. O-Town as a group and as individuals have grown up and is shown in their singing, writing and overall presence of the whole album. If one is hesitant to give O2 a chance, then all you need to do is listen to "Over Easy", or "Favourite Girl". The latter track written by Nelly, he even gave them a chance! Your mind will change quickly, as this album is easy to listen to from the opening notes of "From The Damage" to the closing notes of "You Can't Lose Me".

This CD is the best. I have not taking it out of my CD player since buying it when it first came out. People should not put this CD down just because it is made by a band who was on TV. The songs on here are up beat and really fun to listen. You should buy it.
