Not 5mm - Review written on March 26, 2008

These are not 5mm thick they are about half that. Despite bubble wrap, out of the 50 I got, 6 of them were broken and a few more had cracks in them from the shipping. It would have been easier to go to the store but then you'd have to take time trying to find it and all.
NO DISPENSER -- THE ITEMS ARE LOOSE - Review written on January 18, 2008

Rating: 4 out of 5

My recollection of buying other items like this is that they were packaged such that when I removed a wrapping what remained was a dispenser of some sort. Not with these. Take a close look at the picture. Note that when you remove the yellow band (which is under cellophane) all the items are loose. Very disappointing. Other than that, how can there be much difference between plastic disc cases?

These slim jewel cases are nice .. and I'll be using them... but I ordered the wrong item. I wanted to order DVD covers, the slim ones .. guess that was my fault.

Fine media jewel cases - Review written on July 23, 2007

These slim jewel cases by Memorex provide sturdy protection for CDs and DVDs as well as CD-Rs, DVD-Rs, and more! I have been fortunate in that the cases I bought never cracked when I tried to open them. Could that be because I'm a 90 pound weakling? SMILE Well, I doubt it--I think these are well constructed. They hold together for years at a time and that's great.

Moreover, these slender jewel cases provide excellent storage for media and they measure roughly half the width of the older, original jewel cases that seem far too wide and "fat" today. You can stick a "post-it" note to the front of the jewel case to indicate what's on the disc inside, too.

Moreover, these jewel cases are affordable--and that's great in these times. Each case costs roughly 40 cents which is great considering how long these will last for you. Years' worth of storage space! These jewel cases can be storing discs on bookshelves, cabinet shelves or whatever. They are not ugly, either.

Overall, I highly recommend this CD/DVD jewel cases for anyone who wants compact yet sturdy storage for their media. Use these in good health!

The cases are fine but extremly fragile even if dropped on capet they break,so if you drop them on the floor or any hard surface forget it it's gone. I estimate about 20 to 30 % you may break. I don't see anything else better on the market so you just have to deal with it. "Oh I will buy this product again".

These are good jewel cases.

I have used a lot of them from this 50 pack to store DVDs in that I have burned movies on via my DVD set top recorder and they have served the purpose very well.

The only complaint about this item is that one of the jewel cases on one end was cracked when I opened the package.

Other than that I was satisfied overall with the jewel cases.

Just a note to those who've been having trouble opening these cases, without breaking them. If you use an emory board to slightly sand the top knob which is holding the case together, you'll be able to open and close it ok. Don't sand too much, and just do the top knob, or it won't hold together. I like the fact that these cases are clear and fairly inexpensive, so I wanted to make them work. Hope it works for you.

It is difficult not to break them when first trying to open them. On the flip side once they have been opened once, they don't reclose very well.

Cheaper than thick CD cases and less prone to breakage, these "slim" cases by Memorex protect your CDs. Most buyers will get them for use in CD or DVD burning, and these are an affordable choice from a quality company for that purpose.

You may want to consider larger cases depending on your tastes, but otherwise these will probably satisfy your needs.

This pack offers a cheap pack of 50 slim jewel cases. Buying this package with a spindle of DVDs or CDs is much cheaper than buing CDs or DVDs ready in a case. The look is cool, and these will not break easily!
