This product definitely makes the lifting seem much less, especially if it hurts your fingers to lift heavy furniture. You get a great hold on objects. It's really hard going up and down stairs or ramps, though, because you can't seem to get the right posture.

These straps are pretty cool, and once you get them set up properly on your arms, you'll be surprised how easy it is to lift dressers and other heavy furniture you previously had to struggle with.
I agree that these do work very well, and for a product under $20 they have saved me a lot of hassle. My dad couldn't stop laughing the first time he used them- a previously troublesome cabinet became a breezy 1 minute move. The ease of maneuvarability made our footing much better as we had to step over rolled up carpets and other construction equipment (you should always make sure your path is clear... you know, for safety.)

However, here are things the Forearm forklifts cannot do or issues I've noticed:
1) It does not make you instantly super-strong. You're still going to be team lifting a very heavy object- if you couldn't lift it before, you won't be able to lift it now. The product helps you lift with larger muscle groups, saves your hands the stress of holding up the object amd allows you to move furniture in a more "back-safe" way, but it doesn't grant the user super-strength (duh).

2) The straps really make it so that you need a third person to help with doors and or navigation (especially up and down stairs). Y'know that trick where you prop the object with your thigh while you turn and push a door open? Well these handy lifting straps essentially lash you to the object, restricting your hands from doing anything but guiding the object you're lifting (which is probably safer, anyway).

Really, a great moving product. Every able bodied group of friends and family should have a pair or two.

I used them to move furniture around, helped friends move furniture, washers dryers and we I love it. My girlfriend had no problem helping me move a heavy wash machine!!! Don't try to use them up/down the stairs as it's not practical. My friends are now asking to borrow them when moving heavy stuff around. This is a great find and I'm extremely happy with them!

I probability would not have bought this product if I would have known its limitations. It works well for large items that are taller than their width. The strap length can be adjusted for three discrete lengths, i.e., the adjustments are limited. I used it for a few items, but in my view the straps are not worth buying.

i was skeptical but this makes moving awkward items easy for two people. moved a rear projection TV and a Treadmill with ease and just with my father. Without these it may have been a three person job or a lot of scuffed walls.

I used these straps during a big move, and boy am I glad I bought them! I have a history of back problems, so I was a little nervous lifting the heavy items, but these straps make it a breeze. They really help emphasize proper lifting techniques, as you must squat with your legs and keep your back straight to get your arms in the straps properly and your hands against the item you're lifting. Really heavy items will STILL feel heavy, but the leverage you get with these straps is amazing.

They are not too useful for really short items though, as the lowest arm strap might not be low enough to get a good grip on the item. I found that they worked best for matresses, tall dressers, appliances, and my big sceen TV. It helps if the item has feet underneath...that will help prevent the straps from sliding out. If not, cross the straps as shown in the instructions, and you will have no problems. Stairs can be a bit tricky...you might need to have the person going up the stairs first to get a lower grip on the item so you remain level as you go up.

These things really work! I highly recommend them....

I bought a set of these in preparation for moving a piano. Since we were a little short handed (only 4 guys when you should probably have 8) I thought it was a good solution. But when I tried to use them I found them to be completely worthless. I couldn't get them to stay on my arms at all. They kept slipping no matter how often I readjusted or tried a different posture. Because these are supposed to stay on the forearm, they're going to severely limit your ability to adjust your hands and maneuver whatever your lifting even if they do work for you. In the end, I ended up throwing them away and just lugging the piano bare-handed.
I think something like a the "Shoulder Dolly" or "Teamstrap Moving Strap" would work a lot better because it anchors to your body and lets you do whatever you want with your hands.

I bought this one for my moving (1 br) and was the mostly used (and useful) tool. 3rd floor, easy.
The holes could be bigger, though. There are 3 of them - for different length - and they're all the same size. I guess this is to prevent the arms slipping out.
We actually used this more than the heavy duty straps.

Maybe my wife and I weren't using it right, but we found it hard to use. It puts a lot of pressure on the back and you have to walk like a penguin. We ended up not using them. We found it easier to get the items on a dolly and then roll it.

If you buy the Forearm Forklift directly from the company, they charge one-third the price of the merchandise for shipping and handling. Thatsa lotta shipping for a pair of nylon straps. And if you return them, you lose the $10 S&H. In other words, "We're selling this for $30, chump."

I bought these when my wife and I had to move out of our house with out any help. We had about six pieces of furniture that were extremely heavy. I'm a big strong guy, but she is 5'4 110 lbs. While she might be strong for her size, I would have much rather had another guy help me. That is why I am so happy we bought these straps. It distributes the weight of what you are carrying so well. My wife did have bruised fore arms at the end of the move, but without these we would have never been able to move our HUGE entertainment center. My brothers helped us unload the truck using the straps, and they loved them (which reminds me...I need to get them back from Chris).

These worked out really well. My fiancé and I moved our house by ourselves this go around, and we couldn't have done it without these straps. The refrigerator was a breeze. My only complaint: if the item doesn't have feet, the straps are a little slippery. But all and all, I'm very happy with them!

I purchased these lifting straps not knowing if they would really work or not. After trying them on a refrigerator, washing machine and an old cast iron gas stove, they have made a believer out of me. You can forget the hand truck and all that pushing and shoving because these straps are so easy to use and no strain on your back. I'm glad I purchased a set and may get another couple for gifts.

We recently purchased two sets of 'lifting straps'---one for our personal use and one for some friends moving to another state.

These were ordered after attempting to move a queen-sized mattress and box springs -- just the two of us---ages 67 and 75. (We may never recover!)

Upon receiving the set, we used ours to move a freezer and refrigerator. It was almost effortless. Our friends thinks it's the best gift they have ever received

we were also most favorably impressed with the short time between order and delivery.

To sum it up! Fantastic product and service!!

I purchased this product based on how useful it is.
But, when I was deciding if I should purchase it, I saw the title as: " Above All Company Forearm Forklift Lifting Straps, 2-Pack". I thought, hey, not bad. Two pack for such a great price. Once I received the product, almost a month later. I only received ONE Pack.
2 PACK usually means 2 sets, 4 straps!!!
Very misleading.....please rename the title or just remove the words, "2-Pack"

This is really worth $20. It saved my back. We had to move a fridge, oven, dishwasher, armoires-- on stairs. We could never had done this without the straps. They took a little getting used to and if the item isn't "tall" enough for you to have your hands on it, supporting the upright stance, they don't work. For instance, we had a very heavy TV. Since it was such an awkward shape, and all the weight is at the front, and you don't want to ruin the screen- it didn't help for that item. But, they are really useful.

I do a lot of work around the house and farm and was skeptical that this product would work, but my friend had a pair and swore by them. Together we move a solid oak entertainment center that previously had to be dismantled to move. The well known quote "give me the right lever and I'll move the earth" is applicable here. The person who rated this one star because they had trouble getting the straps around the piece they wanted to move must have trouble zipping up.

I've used these only a handful of times and they work great, but there are some things you should know before falling for all the hype and marketing:

- You still must obey the laws of gravity. These straps help to stabilize large, awkward objects while moving, but a 300 pound dresser is still a 300 pound dresser.

- The infomercial shows women using these straps with ease, but my friends who've tried it felt uncomfortable using it, citing that it relies a lot on upper body strength which they lack.

- These are straps. Imagine them strapped to the 300 pound dresser that I mentioned. Those straps are strapped to your arms. Now imagine that dresser tipping over or sliding in any way. Basically, wherever it goes, you're going with it.

The best experience I've had with this product was with a buddy of mine who was open to figuring it out. We spent a minute or two going over how this is supposed to be used and what we were going to do with what we were moving. It helped out a lot and made the move much easier and safer than it would have been.

But mostly I've been in moving situations where I had to spend time convincing someone to use something new or having someone try it who felt unsure about them. In those cases, these straps did not go over so well and things went better when we ultimately moved the object by hand sans fancy orange straps.

The bottom line is: I think these are very useful to people who are willing to use them, learn about them, and take the extra time to set them up properly on the object to be moved. I think the marketing of this product puts a dangerous thought in people's heads that "anyone can lift anything as long as I have these magical straps!". This to me is clearly untrue. You still need a certain amount of strength to move large, heavy objects and these straps, while providing a superior way to move heavy objects, do not give you that strength. You DO NOT want to be strapped to something that you shouldn't be attempting to move in the first place!

Bought this item to move a bookcase up a fairly narrow and winding staircase. The problems were weight and lack of a good handhold. My wife and I got his up with no scraped knuckles, broken nails for her and no strained back. On stairs each person can use a different one of the three hand holds to get a diffent carrying height. Well worth the $20.

i own a small logistics company so we transport many different items. we are responsible for getting some of the items into houses, offices or apartments. and with the these straps, the only thing they are really good for is heavy mattresses. which are usually very awkward to carry even w/ handles and many have none. these make it very easy even if 1 of you doesn't have enough slack to set up correctly.

the first and main problem w/ the straps is they need to be far longer or come in different sizes. as im 6'1" and my guys are 5'10" and 5'11", and even a 6' couch if 1 of us is set up correctly the other 1 cant even get enough length to get both loops around his wrist and usually just ends up grabbing both loops w/ your hands. which is far more painful on your back and defeats the purpose. so we really don't use these any more except for heavy mattresses.
the second problem is these are useless on tight stairways where items need to be tilted or on doorways w/ tall items. or really just tight spaces in general. i mean on flat walkways they have worked aright on some smaller items, but thats dolly territory anyway(why carry something when you can roll it)
so i suppose for a home owners special they might be aright for rearranging a room. but for business i think there more of a novelty, unless you move alot of mattresses. but in the end their only 20 bucks so...

Initially I thought 20 bucks for this was silly to spend but was concerned about the weight of the dresser we were moving. This product was incredible and made both carrying and maneuvering easy and non-straining. In short, a good use of 20 bucks.
