This music is good for the soul. How sad that this great talent is no longer with us but what a legacy he left.

If the music doesn't put love into your heart, then maybe this gentle giant can make you only wish like he did. This is by far, on of his best collections ever. I loved it and listen to each and every day. Sure am going to miss this man.

"Over the Rainbow" is worth the price of the album because it is simply priceless. I smiled in tears when I first heard it in Europe on the Connery film "Finding Forrester". The big teddy bear on his "uke" reaching the world in its more urgent time of need ...with a remake, ha! Your sweet soul shines from heaven Izzy, like the child's gift of pure innocence that became the eastern star. Ke Aloha ai no hoana ke akua i, kana hele hele. Meke aloha pumehana "ipo". -Pila

The CD was very well done and the artist had a very unique talent and he will be missed. I found the the picture on the front unique as well. It is a very soothing and inspirational CD. His verson of the song Over the Rainbow is one of a kind! I found it interesting at the end of the CD where IZ talks very candidly about his illness. A must have for your CD collection!

The main reason I bought this albumn was the YouTube video sent to me of "IZ" sing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". This collection shows he was so much more than that. Do yourself a favor and enjoy this Albumn.

Bought this item for a friend who recently honeymooned in the islands. First trip to Hawaii brought fond memories and I wanted the memories to be everlasting supplemented with the beautiful, majestic, and haunting voice of Braddah IZ. Support Local Music and give this gift to close friends...what da hell, even your enemies would love this as a gift.

This album, with the selection of rarities shows us how the power of human voice can evoque other lands and times, Over the Rainbow is the best song in this album.
May Iz rest in peace, his voice will live forever.

How could it be I never heard of IZ before now? My only regret with this cd was that it didn't include the lyrics (and translations), because when Iz sings, I feel as if I know what he's saying, but would like the lyrics anyway. He's the Pavarotti of Hawaiian music, and is also sadly gone from this world. I can't recommend this, or any of Iz's cd's highly enough. It's just one of those 'must have's'.

It has a version of "Over The Rainbow" we keep hearing in commercials and movies. The music tugs at you, creating a sense of sunshine and well-being. You won't be disappointed.

I don't know Hawaiian, so I can't understand many of the songs. However, the soft ukelele music and harmonies are so peaceful. Just what I need to help me calm down during the long ride home in traffic!!

If you like Hawaiian music, IZ is the man. I love his renditions of Hawaiian and traditinal music. He has a beautiful voice. "Over the Rainbow",in his unique style, is a definite favorite. I play his CD's over and over again - a vicarious trip to the islands.

This was the first Israel Kamakawiwo'ole cd I had listened to. I think despite the fact that at least one of the songs (Mona Lisa) wasn't finished it's an excellent CD. The song "Somewhere over the Rainbow" is a beautiful Hawaiian rendition of an old Classic. The CD is lighthearted, fun, and introspective at times, offering a track with audio from Iz talking about his battle with obesity (something hardcore Iz fans might enjoy). The word: if you have all of his CD's and love IZ get this one, if this is your first purchase, buy another and work your way up to this one later.

This is a special type of recording that not everyone would care for. It is what I would call a Kamaaina type of CD; i.e., if you like down home Hawaiian style, it's great. Having lived in HI for over 18 yrs, I really dig it. The reason I say this is that it's the type of recording that's rather "off-the-wall." There's false starts, talking and just plain uke strumming and picking up words as he goes along, but it's real. These are recordings as they actually happened rather than having been rehearsed. For those that have sat around a bonfire eating pig and poi, listening to uke players, I'm sure they will enjoy it!

The tracks on this album are beautiful from Iz's rendition of "Mona Lisa" to the now familiar "Over the Rainbow". What is most haunting is hearing Iz speaking on several tracks, especially his views about death and losing his family members. A definite must have.

I love this cd. I've owned it for over 5 years. I bought this copy for my mom, whom adores his version of "Over the Rainbow". If you ever want to mentally transport yourself to Hawaii, this is the way. Love it!

Since I am not from Hawaii I don't profess to identify with the political and cultural aspects of IZ's music, so all I can really say is that I find IZ's music just plain nice to listen to, especially when its just him and his uke. Need to relax, need to kick back and drift away to the Islands then this will do it for you. Get rid of the pills and pick up a dose of IZ to calm the tensions of the day. Of course you'll have to resist going out to purchase a one way ticket to Hawaii.....or will you?

I was first introduced to IZ from 50 First Dates. The song "Over the Rainbow" was hauntingly beautiful. I just had to hear what else he sang. And, boy, I was truly impressed! IZ has such a beautiful, mellow voice that I can listen to him time and time again. And, I do!

If you like Ukulele music then IZ is one of the best. I had heard his "Somewhere over the Rainbow" on a commercial and hunted for weeks to locate the person that sang the song. I finally found this album, in the process learning a little about IZ. What a wonderful voice, such a shame his life was so short. If you like Hawaiian music you won't be disappointed with this album.

It was during the movie Finding Forester, that I was first overwhelmed by this amazing soul: IZZ. I began a quest to find out who this magnificent sound belonged to. After searching AMAZON I discoverd the man behind the sound. His life and his music changed me; made me a better person. I feel the music more: ALL music! Thanks to this wonderful man who has gone to a better place. I can hear him singing with Angels now. He just keeps getting deeper into my heart. RMA

The gift - the purity of this man's voice - makes this CD great listening. When you listen to music from IZ, you want to hear MORE. There are far too few of his recordings available. His death was a tragic loss to the music world.

A collection of cuts compiled and released after Iz' untimely death, Alone in IZ World is not as polished as his CDs that were edited for commercial release. Alone in IZ World provides a delightful "behind the scenes" glimpse of IZ' playful personality.
As I listen to IZ stumbling over the words of Mona Lisa, I recognize that English is his second language and I appreciate his mello and effortless renditions of traditional Hawaiian melodies all the more. It is a perfect companion CD to Facing Future.
