Not Much Different From Any Other Boy Band, Average Material - Review written on September 25, 2004

Unlike other boy bands that tried hard to establish themselves as actual musicians and not just manufactured groups, O-Town does not even have that option. The group, consisting of Ashely Parker Angel, Erik-Michael Estrada, Trevor Penick, Jacob Underwood, and Ikaika Kahoano (who was later replaced by Dan Miller), began on the TV series Making The Band, which showed exactly how boy bands were created. (Note that I have never watched the show). Though I don't remember seeing any promotion for these guys, they've always seemed to be shown, similar to other boy bands, as "squeaky-clean". However that is debatable based on their song titles. The group suffers from the same problem as most other boy bands: lack of individuality. Even with popular groups like N*Sync and Backstreet Boys, you never see much of the boys' individual personalities.

The album starts off with the first single, "Liquid Dreams". I'm not even going to get into what this song's about. In this song, the boys sing about what their dream girl would look like. The chorus is catchy and sounds great, but the overall meaning of the song kind of ruins it. Vocally, the boys do not sound much different than other boy bands and In an attempt to save the song from being completely shallow, the boys throw in the line "looks ain't everything, she's got the sweetest personality". Next up is "Every Six Seconds", which is not better topic-wise. (If you can't tell what this song's about, think it over. What is it guys are supposedly thinking about every six seconds?). The song is more upbeat than the first song, and though I do not like either song, I would take the first track over this one any day. "Girl" comes next, and proves that the guys are not much better off when they slow things down. This is a mid-tempo, not a ballad but it is simply awful (and very repetitive).

After that song comes "Sexiest Woman Alive", which is sung in a completely odd way (in the verses anyway). Also, the boys mention Haagen Dazz (ice cream) and MTV in the song, which makes it hard for me to take them seriously. The song also drags on for too long, considering it isn't even that good. "Love Should Be A Crime" has lyrics that just make no sense ("we got nothing to say, but the words got in the way"). The vocals do not even sound good on this one. "Shy Girl" is up next and my first reaction was "That's more like it". This song describes a guy noticing one of the shy girls instead of the ones who are always the center of attention. It is not a topic that is done very much, and while it does not fit at all with the other songs (which talk about girls the band thinks are hot), it is a definite highlight (though vocally it is nothing special).

After that comes the other highlight, "All Or Nothing". It is nothing more then your typical boy-band-sappy-love-ballad but it actually fits the guys impeccably. I actually thought it was either the Backstreet Boys or N*Sync when I first heard this song, but it is still the best song on the album."Sensitive" is up next, and it is not a ballad as many would probably expect. Instead, it is a great mid-tempo/upbeat track I'm not sure exactly what the song is about but it is sung really well and the lyrics are good enough. Also, it (along with the two tracks before it) does not get boring halfway through. "The Painter" is up next, and is a sappy metaphor but it is the vocals that really keep the song from being horrible. The harmony on this song is great and the lyrics are sweet even though they are not that great.

"Take Me Under" is up next and is mediocre at best. In the middle there is even a (laughable) part that goes "can I get an "o", can a get a "t"." and so on until the word O-Town is spelled out. The singing also seems digitally sped up in some parts, which really takes away from the already floundering song. "All For Love", the next track, is another mediocre song that reminds me too much of N*Sync (not a bad thing). The song is pretty forgettable and could have been done by virtually any boy band however the way the boys sing the words "all for love" sounds great. "Baby I Would" is a typical ballad and does very little to distinguish itself from the rest of the material. It is average, both vocally and lyrically and is not all that memorable. Lastly there is "We Fit Together" which resorts back (unfortunately) to the sexual themes of the first two songs. I believe this is a bonus track (I don't know since I don't own the album) and really, I wouldn't miss it if it had been left off.

Overall Mark: 2/5

Pop music is generally geared towards young audiences, so the material on this is not really appropriate for younger listeners (I'm not saying they don't listen to this kind of thing, just that they probably shouldn't). However, the material is mostly too juvenile for older teenagers, so I am a little confused as to whom this was geared towards. O-Town's debut suffers from the same problems that are typical of all boy bands. There is no sense of individuality among the group members and the material isn't great. Lyrically, the album is nothing new and I do not think any of the boys are vocally exceptional. Only the four songs in the middle ("Shy Girl", "All or Nothing", "Sensitive" and "The Painter") are really worth listening to off of this album and even those four are standard pop ballads. They are nice to listen to once in a while, but mostly forgettable. The first single is a guilty pleasure, but mostly the album is mediocre, undistinguishable pop.

In the late 1990's,the Backstreet Boys and NSync were the hottest groups in the pop music world. So were the New Kids On The Block from 1988 to 1991. Here is another all-male quintet called O Town. I know a few girls, now in their early twenties, who attended one of their concerts. The first track,LIQUID DREAMS,makes mention of Destiny's Child,Madonna,Janet Jackson and Jennifer Lopez. EVERY SIX SECONDS features precise calculations(10 times a minute,600 times an hour). These guys are superb mathematicians,I must admit. SEXIEST WOMAN ALIVE is really cool. The adult comtemporary hit from this album is NOTHING AT ALL. All the other songs are very good. These guys didn't gain as much attention as The Backstreet Boys and NSync.

Hey y'all!! I got hooked on Making the band int he middle of its 1st season. Originally I was a hater. But a friend told me to watch. So I watched one friday and I got hooked. OMG! JAcob! Yumm!! Them Dreads of him just melt me! He's a 20! Ooh yah! This cd is the best as a debut because it has awesome harmonies, shows what they can do, and how far they have come from the start of Making The band in 2000. I looooooove you Jakey!!

But that's not bad if you like pop a lot. I like this album, cause I like that boy band pop. Just don't tell anyone at school. But actually to tell you the truth, O Town and LFO are the only boy bands that I like (currently). I don't like the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync. Even though this album does sound like it. So if you like N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys this album is all for you. It incluides the three singles "Liquid Dreams" , "All Or Nothing" , and "We Fit Together". There's a lot of tracks on here, and the boys of O-Town wrote most of their songs. Which is really refreshing since most bands and artists these days don't and just have some pop writer write them a lot of "single songs".

Oh yeah, did I mention that this band was put together by MTV? A little while ago, they had this show called "Making the Band". You know the original version of Making the Band. Not the P.Diddy had, where he made that hip-hop group. By the way it hasn't had a hit yet.

Seeing as O-town was formed on tv, you couldn't expect anything else but manufactored pop music, but i think they did a damn good job in their first attempt. I dont think anyone was expecting a monumental masterpiece by the guys, but this is a good cd overall (a bit cheesy at times, but hey its pop music, what do u expect?) and they showcase good harmony. The one thing that sets O-town aside from other boy-bands is that all 5 guys can and do sing on the record. Trevor doesn't sing much, but when he does he sounds good. Their new cd leans more towards a rock direction (although I showed Her in my opinion is one of the best ballads ever produced by a boyband) with most of the songs like this cd's "Love Should be a Crime." This cd has many catchy fast R&B songs ("Shy Girl" "Girl" "Sensitive" are all great songs) and 3 good ballads ("All or Nothing" kinda got played out but its still a great slow jam, and "Painter" and "Baby I Would" are also great). All in all, some of the songs are kinda lame, but not bad enough to completely skip over. This is one of the few cds i own that i listen to all the way through. So if your down for a good pop cd, without expecting some musical breakthrough, look no further than this cd, or O2, from O-town.

About as saccharine (and as fun) as an Ameretto hangover. This fey ensemble's sole pitiful attempt to assert some 'edge' can be found in the lyrics of the lead-off track, "Liquid Dreams," which appears to be about nocturnal emissions.

My ex-girlfriend used to play this CD in her car all the time, and fortunately, I use to bring my Discman to avoid listening to this drivel. I'm so glad I will never hear this CD again. It's just awful!! No talent, terrible lyrics such as, "like Haagen-Daas, you hit the spot?????" Who decided to add that to the song?? It sounds like the person who wrote that line couldn't think of anything else, except eating ice cream and drinking 7Up!! Also the song "Liquid Dreams" is just offensive and disgusting!

Anyway, to review the music, it's typical boy band stuff with super syrupy love songs, bad, bad pop songs such as "The Painter" (by the way, what does the title have to do with the entire song?? There's no connection!!!!!) (bad lyrics, as said before) and terrible, terrible production (drum machine intact with boring beats and untalented background instrumentation)

If you are into this boy band phase, listen to N Sync, or better yet, open your minds to more intelligent music with boy band appeal, like early Beatles (they were a boy band, and had much more appeal), or early Rolling Stones.

Okay, I must admit, being a big fan of GOOD music (of all genres), I was intrigued by the concept of the show...I wanted to see what (if any) talent these guys had so I watched a few episodes once the group had been whittled down to a handful. I must say, I was VERY disappointed in the "talent" that I saw. What's worse is that they got rid of the only one with a decent voice (Ikaika - great name, too!).

As for the CD...this "stuff" is not music. This is a bunch of notes thrown together that any 3rd grader with a toy piano could have written...and don't even get me started about the lyrics. These lyrics are almost as bad as LFO's (let's not go there) and that's about as bad as you can get!

If you want to check out some REAL talented "boy bands" (not these pop-craze groups), you should check out something like Tony! Toni! Tone! (okay that's probaby before you guys were born) or even Hanson! The Hanson guys are quite talented depsite the fact that their music isn't really my style. Oh I forgot, the whole reason people buy something like O-Town is because they're supposedly "cool" or "in" and I guess Hanson isn't "cool" enough......

I am quite certain there are worse albums than this in existence, but this is definitely NOT something I'd ever listen to again by choice. They are not totally untalented, but I do not believe that they are worthy of some of hte high praise they've gotten!

in this world of poppy artists such as Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel we all need some death metal don't we?

Of course we do...can't get enough of Backstreet Boys? well here's a new band that should get you head-banging.

unlike that Made For TV band "Blood For Blood", O-Town formed while they were in High School, they were all outcasts and they all decided to form a death metal band.
they practiced all the time and they released some Independent cd's which got banned from most record stores.

they got a record deal from Jive Records, the biggest record label dealing in all metal bands. they made a new single called "Liquid Dreams" which was very sexually exclipt and got banned from MTV. then after that incident, they released another underground single called "All Or Nothing" which is so heavy it hurts your ears.

if you are interested in hardcore music then pick up a copy of O-Town.

available at all independent record stores (for now).

I mean alot of boy bands and rock groups are mad because other famous people call them "put together crap" be these hoes actually ARE put together crap. And thier single Liquid Dreams?!?!?!?! are they scared that if they actually say that they Jack off to African American women (and they're all African American wich the fact that maybe one is African American is kinda racist)while they're sleeping someone will get mad at them? And so they make a song about it?!?!?! i dont know about you guys who bought this CD, let aloneliked this CD disgust me and you should all be ashamed. For Shame, For Shame.

I may come off corny but saying this, but I love O-Town. Yeah, I'm a guy, but I still love them. Their debut album experiments with pop (of course), R&B and rock. Ok, enough talking, lets get to the review:

1. Liquid Dreams- Their first single. This song set it off for O-Town. As you can tell from the title, the boys sing about what gets their water runnin': girls. Everybody is involved, including Halle Berry to Janet Jackson. Radio and TV blew this song up, so I don't really listen to this. Still cool though.

2. Every Six Seconds- This could be called "Liquid Dreams Pt.II". This song gets me hype everytime I listen to it. It's kinda dirty (Jacob even said it was), but I think that's what makes it cool. They aren't afraid to be a little sexual.

3. Girl- When I first bought this CD, this was the only song I was playin'. Warryn Campbell (Brandy, Gerald Levert, Kelly Price) produced and wrote this song for them. O-Town sings about a special girl that nobody can have but them. This track has an R&B feel to it. At times, it's very repetitive, but the chorus gets stuck in your head.

4. Sexiest Woman Alive- This track also has an R&B vibe. This song sounds unlike any other song I've heard from a male pop group before. The production is sexy and so are the boys' vocals. The chorus and verses are sung kinda fast, but soon you'll find yourself singing along.

5. Love Should Be A Crime- Now, this song should have been released as a single. It has a soft-rock tinge to it. If I'm not mistaken, Ashley sings lead on this song, and he sounds pretty damn good. This is probably my fave song on this CD.

6. Shy Girl- This seems like a song that a pop group would sing. The words and production are pure pop. But you know what? I like it!! Play this song while having a good time with your gal pals.

7. All Or Nothing- This song I could do without. When I first heard it, I was like "yeah, this is cool." But radio blew it up, and the video was everywhere. The chorus will get stuck in your head, but unfortunately, it didn't work for me.

8. Sensitive- It's nice to know that guy's can admit that they are sensitive. This pop song finds the guys telling the girls that yeah, they are sensitive, but don't take it for granted.

9. The Painter- This romantic love ballad is, in my opinion, better than "All Or Nothing". It may be cookie-cutter, but it has its romantic moments. Dan takes the first verse and tells his girl what he would do if he was a painter and sculptor. And I think Ashley sings the second verse, and again, sounds pretty damn good while singing lines like "But as soon as I see you/I'd forget all my lines/And you'd never know what I feel inside.." I really like this song.

10. Take Me Under- O-Towner Jacob co-wrote this track, which is an energetic fusion of pop, R&B and hard rock. The verses are solid, but it's the middle that has everybody jumpin' jumpin' for joy. The boy's take on a mini-rap while talking about their infatuation with a girl. I also like the concept of this song. A girl has placed O-Town under hypnosis, so whatever she says, they do. Pretty neat.

11. All For Love- This is probably the first track that people have heard from O-Town. (That is, if you have been watching Making The Band). This track is pretty bland, and lacks oomph. But the boys still hold it on as much as they can. Remember when Ikaika tried to sing this song after his little disappearance? Jacob got mad, and soon Iky found himself out of the group. But he's in a group called LMNT. (Check their CD out also!!)

12. Baby I Would- O-Town scored a hit with the ladies with this Dianne Warren- penned track. I listened to it like 4 times, but never again.

Overall, this CD is worth buying. It has all different types of flavors for your ears to savor. Also check out: LMNT, Take 5, A1, and Natural.

I can't hate on O-Town. They all have good looks and equally good voices. Actually, I can't wait for their 2nd CD to come out. So, here's how it goes...

1.Liquid Dreams: This is their first single. The beat sounds like an old song, but the lyrics are really interesting. Not a favorite of mine though. (7/10)

2.Every Six Seconds: I was so in love with this song when I first heard it. This is my 3rd fave song. (10/10)

3.Girl: Warryn "Baby Dub" Campbell produced this song. The chorus is kinda annoying, but the verses are cool. Don't you get sick of hearing "girl"? (6/10)

4.Sexiest Woman Alive: This is my fave song on this CD!! This is a mixture of dark pop and R&B. It blends well together and the vocal arrangements are crazy!! (10/10)

5.Love Should Be A Crime: This is the rock song on the CD. This is my 2nd fave song on this CD. The guitars add the rock feel to this song. (10/10)

6.Shy Girl: This is the kinda song you'd expect a boy group to sing. But O-Town pulls it off. (9/10)

7.All Or Nothing: Oh no..lol. The love ballad of the year. I didn't like it when it wasn't a single and I still don't like it. Sorry. (4/10)

8.Sensitive: I think every man (or guy) can get a little sensitive at times and that's what they are singing about. This is a mid-tempo song. (8/10)

9.The Painter: Most people think this song is cheesy and really cookie-cutter, but I think its sweet. The words are really good and I think its better than "All Or Nothing". (10/10)

10.Take Me Under: This song is really good. It has a dark R&B vibe to it. Jacob Underwood co-wrote this song. (10/10)

11.All For Love- Even though I should be used to this song (by watching Making The Band all the time), but I always skip this song. It has a really lame beat. (3/10)

12.Baby I Would: Diane Warren wrote this song, but I usually don't listen to it. It's still good though. (7/10)

Overall, this CD is good, but I hope their 2nd CD is much better than this.

I used to listen to this CD a lot, and I thought it was the best. After hearing their new songs such as "I Showed Her", "Death Wish", "Over Easy", "From The Damage" etc. performed on their recent tour, I see they are capable of much more than some of these songs which are not very good. Without a doubt, their new album, "O2" will surpass this album mostly due to the fact that they have written many of the songs and have better producers. The songs that I am almost sure will be on the album are:
"American Game"-A great anthemic rock song written by Jacob and Dan.
"Death Wish"-Another great rock song written by Dan and Erik-Michael, one of my favorites.
"I Showed Her"-A beautiful ballad written by Shep Crawford, 10x better than "All Or Nothing".
"Favorite Girl"-Written and produced by Nelly, it has a bit of an R&B and urban sound to it.
"From The Damage"-A great rock song written by Ashly.
"Suddenly"-I haven't heard this one, but it's written by Ashley and LFO's Rich Cronin.
"Over Easy"-A good mid-tempo rock song written by Jamie Houston in the style of Vertical Herizon.
"A Girl Like That"-This is a great upbeat song. It would be a good album opener. It's written by Trevor, Ashley, Dan, Ali D and LFO's Rich Cronin.
"Easy Way"-Written by Dan. It's a pretty good ballad, but not as good as "I Showed Her".

As much as I like boybands, I have to say that this is one sorry album. But then, how much can you expect from something so blatantly commercialized, prefabricated, and marketed as "Making The Band", the TV show? I'm afraid that "Papa Lou" Pearlman has lost his touch. This is a far cry from the glory days of Backstreet Boys and NSYNC.

Not only do we have just slightly better than average voices, but the songs are completely devoid of originality -- just retreads of all the standard boyband cliches, over and over again. I should have seen it coming from the track listing, seeing as how almost half the songs on the album have the words "girl", "woman", or "baby" in the titles. A couple of the songs are good: "All Or Nothing" is a beautiful ballad, and their cover of "Love Should Be A Crime" is just as good as Swirl 360's version. Also, I sheepishly have to admit that despite its seemingly endless overplaying on the TV show, "All For Love" is still a guilty pleasure. But that doesn't make up for "Liquid Dreams" having the most insipidly stupid lyrics since LFO's "Summer Girls" (how in the world the respective band members were able to sing those two songs while keeping from laughing I'll never know), and the overal blandness of all the rest of the tracks.

Perhaps O-Town's next album, "O2", will be better, seeing as how they've joined the LONG list of groups that have cut the umbilical cord with creator Pearlman. But honestly, I'm not holding out much hope, and I'm not likely to be purchasing it.

Lou Pearlman has done it again, and this time he's flaunting his latest creation in our faces with a TV series documenting the creation of yet another boy band.

Someone should tell O-Town that they should be writing songs about having love for a girl no matter what she looks like, instead of stuff like "Liquid Dreams". Oh, that's right, they didn't even write it. Heck, they were practicing the songs on this album before the groups members were even finalized.

To me, that tells me this album was made for the singular purpose of making money. There's nothing wrong with making money in general, but this wasn't meant to be anything else than another cash cow for Mr. Pearlman.

I really hope everyone will buy this CD coz these guys are full of talent (they r so cute!!) and they need this to succeed and continue with their great careers.

The album is full of different rhythms, that's why it's so great. I promise you won't throw your money (well it also depends on what type of music u like) O-town is better than any boy band!!!

I admit I was a music snob, my CD collection boasted artists such as Nick Drake, American Music Club, The Red House Painters, Hank Williams, Elvis Costello and many other mopey songwriters. The truth is that you become what you listen to and I realized i had become a cranky bitter 47 year old with bad posture. Now, I was watching TV one night and I caught an episode of Making the Band. What struck me was how truly unique O-Town was. I had never heard music so uplifting and original. It was like hearing music for the first time!! Whoever thought of putting together a boy band, was a genius (it made me think "why didn't I think of that) but alas I digress...
Besides being hunks in the highest degree (critics admire c##p like Elvis Costello, because generally they look like Mr. Costello), their dancing ability belies an untapped talent. Oh and did I mention they actually sing on their own records..
There's even talk that they might write a song or two for their next release...
Run don't walk and get this CD now!!

I think O-Town is a great band. They are definitely not the Backstreet Boys, but they are certainly the next best thing! I got this album way back in January or February of 2001 so my copy doesn't have that extra track--"We Fit Together". I wish it did though, because "We Fit Together" is one of my favorite O-Town songs! And even though I am way over-age to like boybands and teen pop music (I'm over the age of 17), I still love them! Here's the track-listings:

1. "Liquid Dreams" - great song! I love the beat 5/5

2. "Every Six Seconds" - one of my favorites off the album 5/5

3. "Girl" - I used to like this song a lot, but it kinda got tiring 3/5

4. "Sexiest Woman Alive" - not my kind of song 2/5

5. "Love Should Be A Crime" - everyone loves this song except for me! It's not that great 3/5

6. "Shy Girl" - another favorite off the album--I really love the beat and the lyrics are sweet 5/5

7. "All Or Nothing" - beautiful ballad! The guys' vocals are awesome on this song! 5/5

8. "Sensitive" - great upbeat song! This is good for dancing 5/5

9. "The Painter" - a very nice ballad 4/5

10. "Take Me Under" - an okay song written by group member Jacob Underwood 3/5

11. "All For Love" - I just love this song! It's one of my favorites! 5/5

12. "Baby I Would" - my absolute favorite ballad on this cd--Diane Warren wrote it 5/5

13. "We Fit Together" [Extra Track] - my favorite upbeat song! The beat is really good and I love the lyrics 5/5

Ashley, Dan, Erik, Jacob, and Trevor all did an excellent job on this cd. Not the best cd of 2001, but a really good one. I think you should get over the fact that they are a manufactured boyband and give this cd a chance. All five members of O-Town have great voices, are talented, and good-looking! This may not be the most meaningful album, but it's still great fun to listen to. Why do we always have to go searching for the most meaningful music anyway? Isn't music supposed to be all about entertainment? And entertainment is supposed to be fun and relaxing...by the way, this review is coming from a TRUE MUSIC FAN=one who finds great joy in all genres of music! This cd was great from a promising new boyband so go and buy it!

O-Town Debut Album Shockingly Good - Review written on April 19, 2002

I really enjoyed this album because it had a good mix of slow songs and dance songs. The guys of O-Town sing their songs with feeling and you feel like they are really getting into the songs. "Liquid Dreams" is catchy and contagious, something anyone can sing along to. Usually other songs on an album are not as good as the ones released as singles. This one however is surprising because all of the songs are catchy, but not too manufactured as boy band music tends to be. However "All For Love" sounds too cookie cutter and "Painter" is too sappy. "Love Should Be A Crime" is a different sounding song for the boys and is just fantastic, lyrically and musically. All of the other songs rock and the album is a great addition to any music collection.

I have watched making the band for a long time now and when I got the new CD I was a nit shocked. It's just the beat to all 12 of there songs makes you want to dance.
In sexiest women alive you get a totally different beat I just wish they could have different lyrics
But then you Lisbon to songs like love should be a crime or "All or nothing" and you really get a sense that these are not just 5 lucky guys who sing corny lyrics. I only wish they had more songs that they wrote because there really good at it. Jacob Unnerved (otown mender) CO-wrote the song take me under now besides that women talking in the beginning its a great song. All and all it was not that bad for a CD they have the skills the looks the fire only quotation now is if there 2ed CD is good or not. Just reminder that these guys at the way it looks wont leave without a fight count on it!
Not bad for a pop album! - Review written on April 04, 2002

I really don't have much to say about this album. To sum up how good it is: I bought this a year ago and I still listen to it! Not much music can stay in my CD player for that amount of time.

Obviously, there's always one song that lets down the rest of the album. To me that would be "Shy Girl". It's too cute. Not my style of music.

Yet, at least half of the songs are either good or gr8. My fave is probably "Love should be a crime". Excellent.

I definitely recommend it.

Ok, I gave it 3 stars becuase I'm torn here. I hate pop music but who can say no to o-town? Their music is hilarious!!! If you ever actually listen to the lyrics you'll laugh your [rear] off.
"I had sushi in Japan, used to think I was the man." Erik says in "Sexiest Woman Alive." Who got drunk and wrote that?
Then they have A LOT of bad parts. They can't even record an album, if you've ever heard the song "Wet Dreams" or whatever you'll notice that there is a bunch of static at the very beggining, and no, it's not my CD player's fault.
And the one, Like, Jacob or something, the one who's head looks like a dead animal. He wears the same nail polish as i do. That freaks me out.
But i still say you should buy the album. Even rockers like myself. If you're a teenybopper, you'll like it. If you're a rocker, it'll be so funny that you'll love it. But then again I may be wrong so think for yourself.

The Album O-Town, if u liked *N Sync's 'No Strings Attached', Birtney Spears' 'Britney' & 'Oops I did it again', BBmak, Bardot's 2nd albumm u might like this one. WARNING: if u do NOT like bands that have been put together (PT), u will hate this just as much as any other boyband that has been PT. although, lead singer Jacob, has cridet for writting a song on the album. The Soul songs r my faves, but dancing away to 'sick lyics' is still fun. y sick words? r warned: O-town like to refer to sex alot. all the song on the album r about girls. Every 6 seconds & Liquid Dreams r good but the songs r about sex - well thinking about it anyway.
i give this ****/***** stars: it's a very good album, but not a 5 star.

The boys from the hit television series "Making The Band" really rock! With smash hits like "Liquid Dreams," "All Or Nothing," "We Fit Together," and their upcoming single "Love Should Be A Crime," O-Town has torn up the charts. They have had two sold out tours, and have hit the road with Britney Spears. These past two years have been very successful for them. Their first album "O-Town" has dominated the Billboard Charts.

O-Town's debut album is a great c.d. with lots of different kinds of songs. For example, there's really pop-like songs such as "Shy Girl", "Sensitive", and "All for love". Then there's some r&b tunes, "girl" and "we fit together". You've got the upbeat songs like "Every six seconds", "Liquid Dreams, and "sexiest woman alive", and "take me under"(written by jacob himself!), and great ballads including their 2nd single, "All or nothing", "Baby I would",(as seen on MTB) and "The painter", another very good ballad. But the BEST by FAR song on this album is "Love Should Be A Crime." It's an edgy, rock kind of song and definentlty not a boyband sound. It's even better live, since Ashley and Jacob come out and play their guitars for the song.

All in all, o-town's off to a great start. The five members, as seen on making the band, ashley, jacob, erik, trevor, and dan all are talented singers and dancers. They can pull off a variety of sounds in this album, and look for more rock and r&b tunes on their next album. i hope to see more songs written by the guys on it!

The one regret I had on this album is that some of the upbeat songs *cough*liquid dreams*cough cough* were kinda cheesy. these boys need to tell their writers to stop with the cheesy lyrics! and trevor needs to work a little on his singing, so he's not a backup singer like most of n*sync. O-town is MUCH better than n'sync because each and every one has a part on almost every song(sometimes with the exception of trevor.)

All in all, buy this album, it's a very good listen from a talented group of guys!

well, u might think that this is just another manufactured boyband from US but at least u would know that they r talented as they were among the chosen ones from th show "making the band", bravo! with dan as the lead singer (well, most of the time), he definitely has a clear voice compared to the other 4 members, but it was eric michael's voice melted my heart, especially in "all or nothing", jacob is the most obvious of them for his image, for sure, and coming to live performance, jacob rules! ashley? another cute one which i tend to ignore cause people tends to ignore good looking people as they hav no talent, am i right? well, just a minute, ashley really can sing and he plays piano well, he deserves more attention and appreciation from the listeners, really!
the very first time i heard their first single "liquid dreams" on the radio and i luv it instantly and was crazy looking for their album (which wasn't released only after a few weeks!)
there r certain songs that u'll like it instantly only by listening to the song's instrumental intro and this album featured at least 3, well, it's my fav, so they r!
"liquid dreams", "all or nothing" and "the painter" r my top choices from their debut album and i never get bored listening to them again and again! i clicked with these songs immediately i palyed them once! from pop R&B to ballads and acoustic, they did them well.
to listen to them perform in all types of songs r great, some of the worth listen songs r "every six seconds", "shy girl" and "all for love".
writing this review, i should hav done it a year ago but after watching their first ever concert recently, they really wowed me especially jacob (as i said earlier) and dan, making the band really made a band for the world!
