I purchased this knife for my son who is 11 years old. Perfect size for his hands, very sturdy, well made and easily fits in his pocket so he can keep it with him. Nice beginner knife.

I work in the medical field and I carry this handy little knife in my work smock every day. I comes in so handy from cutting gauze, to opening up boxes, to getting slivers out with the tweezers. My co-workers laughed at me when I first started carrying it but amazingly enough they are always asking to borrow it. Buy one for your ladies because they will use it!

I love this little knife, so handy and small!

I have had many of this over the years, but eventually lose them or have them confiscated at the airport. lol

The blade is extremely sharp, the scissors are great and the nail file/ screw driver are very handy.

This is one of those, "never leave home without it" items!!!

I have had one of these on my key chain for over 15 years now; it's only been replaced 3 times and I use it almost daily. It comes with a removable plastic toothpick and tweezers. I love having a toothpick handy after eating out somewhere and the tweezers work very well. The tweezers do not have the strongest grip because they are very thin and therefore a bit flexible, but I have never had them fail to work and they have very sharp edges for getting out the finest hair and/or splinter.

The knife and fingernail file/screwdriver are obviously useful in many instances; the only problem I've ever had is that if you are trying to remove/loosen a very tight screw it might close on you if you press too hard. The implements do not 'lock' into place, so you have to use some caution.

The scissors were originally my primary reason for purchasing these and are fine enough to help trim your cuticles and strong enough for smaller cuts. They are definitely not super strong but definitely cut paper and thin plastic easily.

Overall, these are a terrific gift for just about anyone and a great purchase for yourself. I've seen them in the store for upwards of $14 but you can get these for less frequently on sale at Amazon.

This slick little knife is the first thing that slides into my pocket in the morning. I've used these small Victorinox pocket knives for many years in various models. Every little tool has been used many times, except for possibly the tweezers. The little tooth pick is the handiest and easily solves the problem of a stringy meat sandwich or chicken. The scissors are very precise and great at cutting strings or other little jobs. This knife is not rugged enough for an outdoorsman, but is ideal for a "Man about Town" or a lady. The only complaint I would have is that the knife blade does not hold an edge as long as they did years ago. It needs frequent sharpening, which is done easily with a small whetstone. However, it's a useful, quality product, and I love them.

Wow- What fun this little knife is. I'v already used the little (very sharp) knife and the straight slot screwdriver several times. I'm a 47 year old female and never owned a Swiss Army knife - I'm so glad I did'nt settle for anything but a Victorinox. I purchased my pretty translucent blue knife along with the classic red one for my 19 year old daughter. She loves it and uses it, we both love that it's so handy right their on your key chain.

My 9 year old got this for Christmas in his stocking. He'd had a Swiss army knife that was more of a standard size with many more tools within it that he lost. He got this as a replacement and even though it's much smaller than a standard size pocket knife, he still likes it. It's got a toothpick, nail file, scissors and a small knife. He likes it but I would definitely not recommend getting it for anything industrial. The knife is really just good for cutting tape off boxes.

We collected a bunch of these over my husband's employment -- his company used to hand them out for various rewards. My husband loves them -- always finds the scissors, little screwdriver, and tweezors handy -- and keeps one attached to his keys. When airport security began prohibiting any kind of sharp object from passing through security, and my husband had his first business trip after that ruling, he forgot that his little Swiss Army knife was on his keychain, and it got confiscated by security. Not to worry -- we had several more at home. Well, one by one over the past few years, he managed to have them all confiscated. Now we have to buy them, so I bought two for him this time -- a red one and a blue one -- and I hope they make it through the year. The only tool on this knife that he never uses is the toothpick -- I notice that a similar S.A. model has a little ballpoint pen instead of a toothpick, and I think we will try that version the next time. Great little tool.

Knives are now a forgotten item because of airports and other places which don't want weapons. Nevertheless, use of the knife should be a part of survival skills.

This is an excellent starter knife: high quality, with long-term use assured, given its quality.
In summary, recommended for a stocking stuffer.

I'm not sure whether I want to give this 3 or 4 stars. I've had one like this before and this one is better made. The idea is I keep it on my keychain, so I always have a knife at hand. The only problem is, the knife part opens in the wrong direction. It's attached at the same end as the keychain attachment. This means when you open it, the knife is sort of fighting against the keychain for space so it's harder to use. If it opened the other way, you'd be able to hold the keychain as a sort of part of the handle, and the blade would be free from any obstructions.

Otherwise, it seems well-made although I just bought it.

I have been carrying one of these as long as I can remember, at least 20 years. It is the most usefult single thing I have. My wife always raises an eyebrow when I say that. I call it my WMD (Weapon of Minimal Destruction).

This is the Victorinox version. There is also a version made by Wenger. As I understand it, Victorinox and Wenger are at odds about who is the "original" swiss army knife. I don't care who is right about that, but I think the Victorinox version of the knife is nicer. It's a bit thinner, operates more smoothly, and is finished a little nicer.

I've had 6 of these tiny 'classic' knives, as keychains, for purses -- the handiest item I've ever toted. Simply super tiny scissors, and very useful tiny tweezers, plus the very sharp tiny knife blade and nail file. And now they come in prettier colours, too! P.S. be sure to remove the knife from your keychain or from your purse before flying, though -- they will take them away from you. I've lost 2 that way..

You can't lose with this knife. It's a classic. My older brother is impossible to buy for when it comes to birthdays and Christmas. I sent him this knife and he loved it! Simple yet practical. He was very pleased... said it was something he's wanted but never bought for himself. Great quality, backed by Swiss Army. I highly recommend it.

A small Swiss Army knife has been my constant companion for the last 30 years. It's uses are myriad & often. They last like objects made 'like they used to make them'. This one is a lot more attractive than it's predecessor which, although still useful, is showing it's 28 year age.

Victorinox and Swiss Army brand are all you really need to know if you're looking for a great pocket knife. The Swiss Army Classic SD Pocket Knife fits the bill for everything that's important in a handy knife.

For the price you pay for the knife at Amazon, you can't go wrong for even giving it a try. Shoot! If you don't like, whomever you give it to will love you for a great gift. Of course, they won't be able to figure out why in the world you gave it away either.

I have owned this little knife in various colours over the years. I have other knives for heavier-duty work, but I always carry this one around and time and time again has it proven its worth. The scissors are good for snipping that stray thread off your shirt, the file for getting a chipped nail, and the toothpick for picking that one stubborn piece of pepper out of your teeth! The knife of course for almost anything ... and best of all it comes sharpened. It's kind of a bummer getting a new knife and not being able to use it to its full potential, but with this little guy you can be slicing and dicing right out of the package.

For the low price and with a colour for every person, why *not* get one?

I recently forgot to take my beloved pocketknife out of my pocket before visiting the Statue of Liberty and had to surrender it before boarding the ferry boat. Going for a while without my favorite knife was getting to me and I simply could not find a small replacement with the features I wanted most--until I found this little gem. It has a small blade, screwdriver/nail file, scissors (wonderful!!!) a toothpick and tiny tweezers. This very slim and compact package is just right for my pocket and it not noticible at all. Larger pocket knives tend to stick out and causing wearing issues on my slacks, but not this little guy. It's really a perfect gift too.
