I purchased this bowl as an extra for my daughters Kitchen Aid. I bought the mixer for her from Amazon 2 years ago and she is now a culinary whiz! We both love Kitchen Aid and Amazon equally...We don't shop anywhere else!!

My bowl just arrived and despite the item description, it does not fit my 5 quart Professional. I had no idea there are multiple bowl sizes for my mixer type. It would be helpful to include this information in the item description.
The rating given is not for the bowl itself- it's lovely- but for the product description.

I love my bowl-lift mixer. What I always wanted was an additional bowl. If you are anything more than an occasional baker, get an extra bowl! It makes life so much easier. If you are like me and hate washing things by hand, whip this one out and move on to the next project while the diswahser takes care of the other bowl.

This obviously has the same great Kitchenaid quaility. I actually picked mine up at a Sur La Table clearance sale for $29. This is even worth it if you only bake during the holidays.

What a waste of time, labor , postage and yes MONEY!
I was linked to this bowl when I bought my 5 qt Pro KA and lo and behold
it does not fit the machine.
Amazon needs to provide better info or a link to get that info. in ADVANCE so we dont have to go through this.

Great gift idea for someone that has a kitchen aid. Although they are practically indistrucatble, a baker can never have too many. Also, purchase the lids so things can be stored in them.

As with all KitchenAid products, the quality of the product is very good. The fit for our mixer is as perfect as the bowl that came with the unit, and gives us a second bowl that we can use when we need to have two different items mixed at the same time.
One word of caution: KitchenAid makes these bowls in more than one width, so it is wise to check with KitchenAid to make sure which specific model of mixer bowl you should order.

I ordered this as an extra bowl for my 5 quart mixer. Who would think there would be two different sizes on one type of 5 quart professional mixer. There was no indication of this problem in the writeup and only after calling Kitchenaid was I able to get the correct item number. Mine is the "wide" bowl. So I had to return my bowl and covers, requiring a reorder, no covers to be found. This certainly ruined a surprise gift.Buyer beware........no problem with Amazon to get the refund.

If you do a lot of cooking or baking, an extra bowl will sure come in handy. But save yourself the headache and double-check your model number before ordering, since different models have different shaped bowls or mounting brackets. Here's the information I received directly from KitchenAid customer support:

- this bowl #K5ASBP, is for 5 quart "Classic" mixers and fits models K5, KSM5, K5SS, and KP50PS
- bowl #KN25PBH fits models that start with KG
- bowl #KN25NSF fits models that start with KM
- bowl #KN15PBEH only fits the discontinued "Accolade" mixers that start with KN15E1X.
- The service person said that bowl #KN25WPBH is "incorrectly listed" on the KitchenAid website as a 5-quart bowl and that it is actually a 6-quart bowl for 6-quart mixers. I found a LOT of discrepancy regarding this when searching the internet, so I'd recommend you do a little more research or call KitchenAid at your time of purchase for confirmation.

I bought this for my wife as a gift. We have a KG25H7X 5 Quart Professional HD Mixer, purchased (and probably only sold) at a major warehouse club where things generally don't Cost too much. Because it was summer and we weren't doing much baking, it sat in the cupboard for the better part of six months. When we finally did have a need for a second bowl, we were shocked to find that it didn't fit our particular model of mixer. It comes close, but it is obviously a slightly different diameter.

Five stars because I'm sure it's a great bowl for the mixers that it fits, but make sure your mixer is one of those!

I have a KitchenAid 5-Quart Professional Stand Mixer (bowl lift type, and not an Artisan) and I ordered this part only to find that it did not fit. Upon contacting KitchenAid I was told that the correct bowl for my mixer is the KN25WPBH (polished stainless) or the KN25PBH (brushed stainless). The KN25WPBH and the KN25PBH fit mixer models that start with "KG". At the time of writing this review the bowls that fit my "KG" mixer were, unfortunately, not available through Amazon.com. I am not exactly sure which series this K5ASBP bowl fits because this bowl is not even listed under stand mixer accessories at [...].

As I do a lot of baking during the Christmas season, my KitchenAid 5 quart mixer really cuts the time and energy it takes to make a lot of cookies, and other such Christmas treats. The only thing that would be better, I thought, was an extra bowl, so I could expidite the process. My husband bought me this bowl as an early Christmas present, and I love it!!! I got through the Christmas season of baking in no time at all. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves to bake, and does a lot of it.
Great add-on, but not for "all Professional Stand Mixers" - Review written on December 24, 2002

I purchased this bowl as an add on gift for my wife's new 6 quart professional stand mixer. It is a great mixer and this is a quality bowl, but the title and description of the product do not match the actual product.

The while the Amazon description claims it is a "Bowl for Professional Stand Mixer" and the feature list of product states "Additional bowl for KitchenAid Professional stand mixer expands the mixer's flexibility" and "Works with any KitchenAid Professional stand mixer; one-year warranty" it does not fit the top of the line "KitchenAid KP2671XWH Professional 6-Quart Stand Mixer".

The package that arrives clearly states it is for all 5-quart home stand mixers and not the professional model. By the way, I only gave it 4 stars because I can't actually use it to see if it is as durable as it looks.

While the product description states that this bowl is for all 5-quart mixers, this is no longer the case. This bowl is only for the 5-quart mixers with a bowl-lift lever. If you own one of the new Artisan mixers with a tilt-head, you will need a different bowl. KitchenAid makes this bowl, but Amazon doesn't carry it yet.

This is a 5-star product, but make sure it is the correct model for your mixer.

This is the bowl that could not be found in stores. We bought our first indispensible Kitchen Aid Stand mixer four years ago (and we've been in heaven ever since). We haven't been able to find this bowl available in any store! Now that we have the extra bowl, we don't know how we lived without it! A MUST HAVE!

What a convenience to have an additional mixing bowl. When I make baked goods, invariably I need to use more than one bowl for a recipe. It sure speeds up the process by having another bowl on hand whenever you need one. The quality of this product is unparalleled. KitchenAid makes the best mixers on the market that are built to last for years. Our mixer is the favorite kitchen appliance my wife and I own! If you don't have a KitchenAid mixer, get one and an additional bowl too! You won't be disappointed.

What a time saver! Whether whipping eggwhites for a meringue, creaming butter or kneading a batch of bread dough it is just so convenient to be able to pull off one bowl and not have to transfer ingredients and wash out your bowl! Just remove and slip in a new clean bowl and you're off!
