Best Travel Mug ever for Cold/Hot beverages - Review written on May 16, 2008

Rating: 5 out of 5

I have tried so many travel mugs that were no good. They couldn't keep drinks cold or hot, or they leaked when knocked over. I ended up throwing them all in the trash. This Travel mug is definitely money well spent. I could have saved a lot of money by buying this mug to start with. I will never own another travel mug besides this Nissan. This is the BEST Travel Mug I have ever owned. We have 4 of them, one for each member of the family.
Simply amazing! - Review written on April 10, 2008

This is the greatest mug I've owned... hands down. If you "charge" it for a few minutes with hot water as the instructions say, it'll keep your drink warm for over 2 hours. It'll keep it warm for almost that long without charging it, actually. As for keeping the rubber washer clean? The secret is to fill it with hot water and shake it upside down. That'll clean the gunk that can accumulate on the washer around the hole in the lid. Great mug overall!
They forgot to insulate the lid! - Review written on March 07, 2008

Although the sides are well-insulated with vacuum/mirror technology, that doesn't help much when the lid is plain plastic...and not very thick at that. (It's like having the best quality insulation in the walls of your home, but leaving the front door wide open!) This fault is clearly evident by just feeling the exterior of the tumbler when it is filled with hot liquid (coffee): the sides are cool to the touch, but the top third of the tumbler gets hot. I returned mine because of this design flaw. On the positive side: it is an attractive tumbler, its size is perfect for auto travel, and I liked the feature to open a convenient drinking port with a lever. However, my nose hit the lid with every sip. Thermos/Nissan needs to realize there is a HUGE market for a decent vacuum tumbler, and stop cutting corners. Do some market research, guys!

I love Nissan products! I owned the 18 oz. version with the flip top for several years before my own carelessness damaged it. I bought this newer model for my wife and I to try. We both love it. She has never used a SS travel cup before. She always complained of the plastic lined cups holding too much of the flavor/taste even after washing. Bad for someone who switches their morning brew as she does. SS is the ONLY way to go for hot/cold retention and cleanliness, and Nissan is the only SS option for me.

After ten years of daily service, I lost my old Nissan travel mug and had to decide on a replacement. The old one had the standard flip cap, but I decided to try the lever cap this time, and I really like the way it works: easy to operate, especially while driving, and I don't have to wipe away a drip from the tip of my nose every time! The Nissan Travel Tumbler is still the best practical travel mug around and, barring loss or accident, I look forward to enjoying my daily jolt from it for years to come.

I love these mugs. If it is tipped over, only a very little escapes. Stainless constructions makes them sturdy.
Works Great - Review written on January 28, 2008

This is the best travel mug - keeps items hot/cold for very long periods of time, and never can spill. I had one for 5 years or so - still works great, but is pretty banged up from all the times I dropped it. Got a new one (actually 2 new ones) cuz my wife kept stealing mine, so now she has her own, and I have a new one. Nice thing is the trigger top - when you pick it up you just hold it around the level, and it opens, but as soon as you put it down, the lever closes the top. If it tips over, nothing comes out - also keeps stuff extra hot as the steam can't escape. Can't find these in stores.

Thermos Nissan Tumbler Travel Mug - Review written on January 02, 2008

This is a fantastic mug. It has a comfortable feel to it when your holding it and it is nice to drink from, no hitting the brigde of my nose on the lid. It is not completly spill proof but does a fair job and dribbles slowly so you have time to catch it before you have a big mess, (I knew that before buying it). It fits good in the car holder and keeps my coffee from splashing around. I like how the lever keeps it closed and that it opens so easy when you want to take a drink. I have the other Thermos Nissan Tumbler with the twist top lid and sometimes you need two hands to open it, not the easiest while driving. This mug keeps my coffee hot and ice water cold just make sure to scrub it clean often because the coffee build up can get really bad in the crevices.

I'm a big fan of Nissan thermos products. I've owned a plethora of mugs and canisters over the years and all of them can really keep your drinks hot for hours which I love. This travel tumbler works as advertised and if you are in the market for one I'll give it a thumbs up.

The buyer beware side of this, and it really extends with a lot of mugs, is to beware the funk. The funk is what can develop if you are not good about cleaning your tumbler. The funk will develop in little hidden crevices in the details. Underneath the lid where the mechanics work can develop some very scary alien slime. It's all easily avoidable by knowing it can happen. Take care of your tumbler and you'll never be scared. Don't and I guarantee the first time you see what I'm talking about you might just freak out.

Simply the best mug I've ever had! The lid mechanism is only open when you push it, so your beverage will always be warm, unlike many other tumblers that lose heat rapidly. Definitely a must have!

I recently lost a similiar travel mug and was thrilled to find a replacement. The spill proof feature is great unless it falls and lands on the handle that opens the top for sipping! It's very comftable to open the spring latched handle to open and drink. No need to use your other hand to open and close a latch like other travel mugs.

Rating: 5 out of 5

This Nissan lever travel mug fits easily in automotive cup holders. It's my cup of choice for commuting because of its spill resistance and ease for slipping into even cranky cup holders. Coffee stays hot for hours particularly if you prewarm the mug with hot water. Cold beverages stay cold all day.

Another reviewer mentioned difficulty seating the lid. He must have a defective one because I have three of these mugs and the lids screw on easily and have never leaked. The only leakage incident has been when I unintentionally pressed the lever.
Leaking travel tumbler - Review written on October 21, 2007

I have had very possitive experiences with Nissan products in the past; that's until I received and used this travel tumbler. It was difficult to have the lid sit properly and as a consequence, it leaked more than once forcing me to take my clothes to the laudry mat. Very dissapointed to say the least.

I first found this mug a few years ago before Nissan or Thermos picked it up. My wife and I looked for it through the years after losing one of them. Then we saw Nissan had put their name on it. It's a "no nonsense" mug for right or left handed people. It prevents bad spills with it's simple mechanism for drinking out of the cup. I'll buy another soon.

I HAVE ONE OF THESE I BOUGHT AT WALGREENS AND IT COST ME 26 DOLLARS. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR ANOTHER FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. I FOUND THEM ON YOUR SITE AND IT SAVED ME BETTER THAN 10 DOLLARS EACH SO I BOUGHT 2. THEY ARE THE BEST TRAVEL MUG I HAVE EVER HAD. THEY CLOSE WHEN THE HANDEL IS RELEASED AND SO DO NOT SPILL IF TIPPED WHILE DRIVING OR AT OTHER TIMES. THEY ALSO KEEP LIQUIDS COOL OR HOT FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME.

This isn't my first Nissan cup, and it won't be my last. Nothing keeps things hot or cold like the Vacuum travel tumblers. And I love the sip handle. I can turn the cup upside down and it doesn't leak! It's great for using on the desk or around the computer. No Accidents!
My fourth one! I love this thing. - Review written on May 28, 2007

Rating: 5 out of 5

This is my fourth purchase of this mug.

I'm buying it for my wife, as she keeps losing them.

I have my original, still, and its the best one I've ever owned. It keeps coffee drinkable-hot for over 3 hours. The dual valve feature keeps your drink incredibly hot.

My only caution would be to keep the top clean, as with use of real cream there are some nooks and crannys in the lid mechanism that can get pretty nasty if you use real cream... I'm still alive, though, and I usually just rinse my cup out each morning...

Highly recommended.

Without doubt, it is the best designed and workable travel mug I've ever used. I have taken to using mine at home as well. Just bought four more, two for my wife and me, the other two as a gift for someone who was kind enough to return my mug to me after I had left it in his car when on a business trip to another city. That's right, I even take it with me when I fly on business trips and vacations!

Rating: 5 out of 5

I have purchased just about every type of coffee mug around and this is by far the best! The difference between this and other products is the opening has a push handle. This keeps drinks warm longer and it is the easiest to use. You might spend a little more for this product, but in the long run it is worth it! My first mug has lasted 8 years and it still works great.

My clients Rex and Amy M. gave this to me as a gift. Little did they know it was going to be one of my most favorite and most used gifts of all times! If you are looking for ease of use, (this baby has a lever on the handle that when picked up you simply push the lever with the same hand and drink) Once you release the lever the tumbler is sealed automatically against spills. I will not leave home without it. Keeps my coffee hot for about 2 hours and very warm for about another 2 hours.
Does not leak. Very sturdy and easy to clean. Sits easily in the cup holders in most all vehicles. What more could you ask for in a hot/cold tumbler? And it is made by Nissan!!! Makes a great gift for anyone out there who travels or drinks coffee while on the road. Couldn't ask for a better coffee tumbler and have yet to find one out there anywhere. In fact I challenge anyone to beat this tumbler in all its great functions!!!

Pretty perfect - Review written on January 31, 2007

Rating: 5 out of 5

I don't know why I waited this long to buy this. This travel tumbler is exactly what it is designed to be. Keeps the coffee very hot, doesn't weigh a ton, and won't drip over your lap while driving, assuming you've screwed the top on correctly. It is not, not leak proof, which means if you turn it completely over it will definitely leak where the top screws into the body. But assuming you're using it as a commuter mug--in your car or on the subway--and don't need to toss it into your gym bag or briefcase, it works great and I'll buy another when I inevitably lose this one.

This tumbler was purchased as a gift for a truck driver that delivers to our business. He loves these and had recently lost his while driving. If you're in the market for a used Nissan coffee mug, then step right up and order from Amazon.com!

So you're probably thinking, yes, maybe I would like a used coffee mug. How about a used coffee mug with dried, brown coffee stains still in it...And how about with the fresh aroma of a...what does that smell like, ah, Vanilla Latte I believe it is.

If you're still interested, continue ordering, but be advised as customer service will be unwilling to compensate you for any issues you may have with receiving a dirty mug in the mail. I think Nissan stainless makes a nice product, but I would
suggest ordering from SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Hip, Hip, Boooooo
