Besides redecking my existing deck I added 384 sq ft. This tool allowed me to straighten warped boards and keep them aligned. I was even able to do it alone. This tool is a must have for anyone laying a deck!!

We just finished installing a treated wood deck with about 4,000 linear feet of decking. This tool was worth the price if only for this deck. Looking forward to using it with T&G adapter in the future.

I just purchased this BW-2 Bowrench decking wrench to help me resurface a roughly 420 square ft. deck from pressure treated 2" x 6" lumber. A friend of mine who has many years experience building his own decks (and helping out other friends) snickered when he came over to lend me a hand. Said things like "I see you got another gadget", and "Hey, bright orange swively thing...".

By the end of the 2nd row of planking, he was singing a different tune. "Hey, this is a really nice tool". By the 7th row, "You couldn't make these nice straight rows out of this bent lumber without this tool", and "I wish that I had this when I did my decks".

By the 10th row, "You said you paid $35, but if you needed one now, you would pay $100 and be happy to pay it" and "If this breaks, you need to have one over-nighted tomorrow"

This Bowrench is our entire conversation now, other than discussing about contract negotiations with the state of NJ (He's a Corrections officer), or throwing a compliment or two towards my 10" Bosch compund slider (which I also bought at Amazon 5 years ago) or the Philips Square-drive decking screws that we are using. I think he wants to marry this decking wrench...

Seriously, I don't see how you can put together a straight deck out of non-linear wooden constituents without this tool, especially with the thick 2" x 6" boards that I'm using both for strength and the substantially lower cost relative to 5/4" decking.

I was reluctant to purchase this product due to the fact it would be a one-time use. Once the deck is complete...it would collect dust. However, I'm very glad I purchased this tool. I recently built a 22x14 deck and this tool proved invaluable. I used premium 5/4 treated decking, some of which warped over several days as it began to dry out. As I approached the last 5 boards I noticed one was woefully warped. This tool made it a snap to get into place and continue with the deck. I could have built this deck without this tool, but I don't think the results would have been as satisfying. I would highly recommend this to anyone building a deck for themselves.

I've got to say, I was about to give up on doing my deck by myself...I'm building a deck with Trex accents and using Tigerclaw fasteners. It was damn near impossible before I got this tool. It's true, the picture is incorrect, but this still works great! Get one and build your deck!

I was building our deck with pressure treated wood; I was working alone. I was trying to lay the 16' boards with little progress. No matter how much time I took selecting the wood, most of the boards were curved to some degree. I remembered seeing some contractors using a tool to straighten out deck boards. A quick search on Amazon came up with the BoWrench. I spent over 3 hours securing about a third of the deck boards; the day the BoWrench arrived I was able to finish the 16'x12' deck in a little more than an hour using the BoWrench and my hammer! I can't imagine finishing the deck without it!

The boards I recieved where all bowed (even though they where a composite material) it was difficult to get uniform spacing. I did the complete job on my own so the only extra set of hand I had was the BoWrench. I did its job so I could do mine. I loved the tool and would recomend it for any decking job no matter how many hands are working on it.

Good thing I didn't have this when I installed my T&G porch...I don't know what I would have done with the extra time and energy! Works great I am currently installing a T&G ceiling and it works awesome. Also bought the T&G adaptor. Thinking of the adjustable joist attachment as well, but that costs nearly as much as the wrench itself. Highly recommended.

The BoWrench made laying 12 foot 2x6 as easy as pie. I replaced my 23 year old 2x6 deck floor. It was so much easier to straighten out the curves and keep the boards nice and tight. Highly recommend this tool and the product came just when they said it would.

I recently bought and used the BoWrench decking tool. I had to redo my 70' X 8' deck and the 2 year-old pressure treated boards were warped horribly in every way imaginable. I was able to salvage all but a few of boards and could have probably used it if I had strained a litle. The tool was easy to use once I got used to it. At first I had a tendency to get the tool too close to the board that I was bending back in place, and I couldn't push it enough to lock the BoWrench in place. Through trial and error I found the correct position, and by doing this I also stopped bending the floor joists that the tool rests on. Note that the "correct position" changes depending on how badly warped the board is. I also found that it was much easier to use on the "new" decking boards that I used to replace some of my older boards. You can set it up to push or pull on the board you are working on, which really helps when you are getting close to an edge. I love it and I recommend it to anyone who is building a deck.

I just received the BW-2 BoWrench tool. and have used it on one decking board. It seems to work ok, but the tool received is not at all like the tool advertised in the picture. Time will tell if it will be as useful as I was expecting.

The Bowrench is a must when building a wood deck. We built a tigerwood deck and the bowrench was ESSENTIAL for no-hassle installation. It easily gets bows out of boards. For the price, you can't go wrong. It's worth every penny.

The BoWrench works better than I expected. The first job I used it on was a tongue and groove ceiling, it worked great. We got the straightest ceiling we had ever done. I didn't have the Tongue and groove attachment for it yet but it still worked marvelously. I have the Tongue and groove attachment now but have yet to use it I can only imagine how much easier and nicer it will be with that on the next job.

This is a great tool. I've been putting a composite deck on w/ a hidden fastener system, that's attached to the joists. I had to make a special bracket to fit over the joists, but I think they have an adjustable one available. I really like that you can either push or pull the boards tighter, depending on how close to walls you are.
I would never do another deck w/o this! I'm sure all of my friends will be borrowing this in the future.

I didn't really want to spend the money to buy this job-specific tool as I am a DIYer that was only going to need it to build my own deck. However, as a one-man crew I am oh so glad I got past my trepidation and bought it. Working with 5/4x6 PT decking, it was rare to have a board that was even mostly straight over the full 16' length. However, with the Bowrench I didn't have to worry about that as it easily nudged even fairly severe curves into true with little effort on my part. My deck turned out fantastic, which may not have been the case without this tool. Well worth every penny paid!

I sure wish I had owned this tool for the first 25,000 feet of 1 x 6 T&G that I installed. With wood quality continuing to decline as the old growth wood goes away, you need this tool. It is the third hand that you always wished you had.

The BoWrench did the job that I was hoping for. It made the job run smoothly and avoided having to strain. My only compliant is you can end up paying twice as much for the accessories that for the most part I am sure you wont need(I least I didn't). I built a large deck, approx. 600 sq. ft.

I do handyman work and carpentry. A couple of years ago I had a large deck to build (over 900 sqft). Costs had to be kept down as this was for a non-profit organization. That meant I used all the boards, warped or not. The first 1/3 of the project I used the old trick of pounding a chisel into a joist next to the warped board then prying back to bend the board in line. It is no fun at all when the chisel pops loose. Plus, if you're working by yourself as I was, holding the chisel means you're short a hand when trying to drive the screw into place. When this arrived, I was able to complete the remaining 2/3s of the deck in the same time it took me to do the first. It easily handled the worst warpage. Well worth the cost.

Even if you only need this tool for one project, the time it will save you will pay for itself. You could probably resell the tool for more than half the cost if you don't want it anymore. It works really well, providing the mechanical advantage needed to install warped deck boards. I used it with 2" x 6" boards and 5/4" x 6" boards with success.

The cotter pins used to keep the tool together seem pretty flimsy, but held up to the 1000sq ft of deck boards that me and my wife installed.

It's a very handy tool that gets the job done but expect the plastic plugs on the work end of the tool to fall out within an hour or so. One deck job and they are all gone. (Doesn't affect the tools functional capability).
