Dumb and Dumber is pretty much what you'll get with this outrageous comedy from the Farelly brothers. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels make the perfect dummies, who knew Daniels had it in him? Lauren Holly would later become Carrey's wife after this movie was released, but we all knew it wouldn't last. I like this zanny screwball comedy, you can't take seriously, it will swallow you whole, enjoy!

It is often difficult to tell which is "dumb" and which is "dumber," because each scene becomes more ridiculous. This is my absolute favourite comedy of all time. This is Jim Carreys masterpiece. It is an old film and I own it but never tire of watching. On a dull rainy day this film is a real pick up. The hilarious scenes never fail to amuse me. The fact that Jim and Jeff play two absolutely hapless idiots is what makes this film so great and you cannot help but love their characters.

I love this movie. As silly as it is, it carries a lot of good memories for me. Plus, you can't beat the one liners that I still quote after all these years.

I remember when my family watched this movie for the first time, my younger brother was laughing so hard at the toilet scene (with the turbo-lax) that at first he was paralyzed; he couldn't move. He was literally on the floor.
I liked that scene, as well as some of the less obvious lines, that required you to be paying attention. Is it just me, or was Jeff Daniels funnier than Jim Carrey in lots of scenes? Like when they are fighting over the briefcase by the lake, and Jeff Daniels looks at Jim Carrey and starts laughing.. great expression! And at a black-tie social.. "nice set of hooters you got there!"
Anyway, you know this movie is a classic when 15 years later they are still comparing new comedies to this one.

I remember the tender age of 13 when I first saw Dumb &Dumber. Thriteen years later the film is still funny as it was back in the day.This movie displays Mr. Carey's talent as a comedian and it's a film you can't help but laugh.

Got this vid thinking that i would get more funny moments that i loved from the first movie but what i got is mostly vulgarity or disgusting stuff ( spit in burger thingy) and stuff that somehow does not seem to fit in the movie or looks out of whack....

Call me picky but i think the original edit is or was just right.Those parts were left out and i think they were for a reason. Usually i am a big fans of extra stuff in a movie but sadly not this time.

Loyd And Harry looked more like morons now than just being dumb dudes...

"Dumb and Dumber" is a classic Jim Carey comedy. I general it has "clean" jokes, which even makes it suitable for younger folks. I recommend it for good, light-hearted entertainment.

Amazon did a really good job w/ getting back to me quickly. The item I ordered was a Christmas present, and it said delivered on my status, so I thought that it was lost. Well, about a week later, I emailed Amazon and let them know what was going on. They emailed me back within one day, and said they could send out a replacement or give me my money back. By that time, I had just received it. I emailed them back and thanked them for having a quick response. On top of that they emailed me back thanking me for my service.!! VERY PROFESSIONAL!

I love almost every Jim Carrey Movie out there. This and the sequal is the only exception. The ending killed the entire movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get the idea but there is not a man alive that would be that dumb. It is a sin to watch this movie if you are male in my own opinion.

Ha. Both guys are Genius in this movie. This Isn't a Scene in this movie I Would of cut. I Have the new extended version. Alot of the cut-out scenes should of been left in. +A

They took out some scenes in this movie for a reason. They should've left it that way. Some of the scenes dragged on, which took away from the enjoyment of the first one. And there were some scnenes that were just not necessary. Once my fiance and I (who are not squeamish or prudish by any means) saw the bathroon scene with CJ (I think? the trucker as the diner)and saw him grab his hairy crotch, we stopped the movie. Just didn't need to see that.

"Dumb & Dumber" has stood the test of time. It's 13 years old and still ranks as many people's favorite comedy, or at least in their favorites somewhere. Not surprising, since it is hysterically funny and (along with Ace Ventura) made Jim Carrey a superstar! This review is for the recently released Unrated edition, which actually features a few minutes of new material. Some of it simply doesn't work (like the extended "Death of Petey" scene), but little things dispersed throughout the film work splendidly. Carrey plays Lloyd Christmas, a limo driver in Rhode Island who drives Mary Swanson (Lauren Holly) to the airport. She's there to return to Aspen and drop off a briefcase with ransom money in it. Lloyd sees her drop the briefcase and retrieves it. Problem is, the two people that were sent to get the briefcase see Lloyd take it and follow him home. After Lloyd is fired the same day as his best friend/roommate Harry (Jeff Daniels), the two set out to Aspen to return the briecase. The rest is pretty much a road movie and the film is still as hilarious today as it was 13 years ago (when I first saw it). It certainly wasn't a critical success, but it was a commercial success and is probably the most watched Jeff Daniels movie out there. The original version and unrated version both have high points and some stuff that was placed into the unrated version would have been better off on the cutting room floor, but it's still entertaining and worth a watch from the hardcore "Dumb and Dumber" fans out there.

Dumb and Dumber is one of the funniest movies of all time. It's so hilarious. The perfect movie to watch with your friends. Harry and Lloyyd are incredible.

This is definitely a DVD to have. It has so much to offer.

Simply put, it's the funniest movie ever made. It may not be stuffy enough for the Academy but it is the only movie that I laugh through every single scene everytime I see it... and I've seen it probably at least 100 times or more. Too many quotable lines to mention. Definitely the highlight of Jim Carrey's career. Hilarious!

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels deliver in this hilarious 1994 comedy! From the beginning to end there is so much stupid humor that it's too bad they never made a sequel. All I can say is that Dumb and Dumber is just plain good fun for everyone! I enjoyed this version!

What a classic comedy. This is by far one of my favorite comedy movies ever to grace a dvd. It never gets old it just gets funnier. It's like a fine wine as it gets better with age. Jeff Daniels and Jim Carey are the perfect duo to get the job done. I still can't look at Jeff Daniels seriously. The image of him with that crazy hair is burned into my memory so that any film I see him in he will always be Harry Dunne.

If you haven't seen this then you have to get it asap. It will leave you rolling on the floor.

When it comes to movies that are rude, crude, yet comedic, Dumb and Dumber is at the top of the list. Many will chuckle at the two main characters' wacky performances as a socially-retarded duo.

So what's this movie about? Lloyd and Harry have been fired from their jobs. They find their pet bird dead. Nothing is working out for them. With nothing to lose, they decide to take a trip to Aspen to return a briefcase that one of Lloyd's customers, Mary, left at the airport. The rest of the movie has the guys running into unfortunate incidents on the way to Aspen.

Let's talk about the positives first. I can't go through an entire review without mentioning Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. Both are incredibly funny in their own way and it's safe to say that they were made for these roles. Second, the movie moves at a steady pace. No dull spots. Just continuous entertainment and comedy. Third, although the storyline may not seem like it's anything special, the many twists aid the plot immensely. Lastly, the comedy is simply enjoyable. Some jokes are obvious, some are not, but they all tie into the movie rather nicely.

And now for the negatives. First, there are a couple of jokes/scenes here and there that some may find offensive or not funny. If you're even a tad bit sensitive, you may not like this movie. Also, in my opinion, this movie is not Oscar-worthy. Don't expect too much from it. It's mainly a movie that provides a few chuckles as well as a couple of hours of entertainment.

If you're looking for a good comedic movie to pass a couple of hours with a group of friends, Dumb and Dumber is it.

As soon as my friend brought this, one of the best movies ever made, over to my house with an "unrated" stamp on the front, I was quite wary. When I looked at the case and saw "6 extra minutes" I knew they had ruined a classic. After watching it, to my dismay I was right. If you're looking to buy this movie, that is of course if for some reason you don't already have the original, don't even think about it. The added content is completely unnecessary, and quite annoying.

only 'Holy Grail' and 'Caddyshack' can be quoted as much as this movie. Agree that this is Jim's masterpiece and also he and Jeff Daniels really worked well together. Look closely at the facial expressions of Jim Carrey. He does every emotion, but does it over the top. That is comedy genius.

Dumb and Dumber is one of those movies that if you really think about it, kind of relates to you Junior and Senior year of High School. My best friend and I even went to the extent of buying blue and orange tuxes with matching canes just to stand in the front lobby of the gym to do sword play! It was great.

The unrated Director's Cut DVD really tops off what was one of the funniest movies ever created. The deleted scenes were great and would only have been better had they been placed where they need to be in the film, but that point is able to be ignored because of the spectacular nature of the film. The cast interviews were interesting and kind put you into light over reasons why some of the things happened as they did.

If you were a fan of the original film, this one IS a worthwhile upgrade.

My entire family loves this movie. One of the best scenes is when Harry says, "Just when I thought you couldn't possibly do anything dumber, you go and do something like this AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!!!". I could watch this movie 100 times and crack up every time.

Very funny. Jim Carey always knows how to make the audience laugh. As will all his movies, parts or the movie had their corny parts but all in all a very funny movie

I have a daughter who is a Jim Carrey fan and for Christmas I added this to her collection. She loves it! Move over 'Bruce Almighty', make way for 'Dumb and Dumber'.

This is one of the smartest movies made in the last twenty years. This may sound unusual since the title is Dumb and Dumber but it is true. Each scene is absolutley perfect, there are a million rememberable lines, and the performances from Carrey and Daniels are terrific. Seriously, try to name another movie where the quality remains so high scene after scene.

Out of all the comedies I've watched in my life, there are only three movies that I found so hysterically funny, I literally cried from laughing so hard! They are: Dumb and Dumber, Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Austin Powers-International Man of Mystery.

If you've been out of the country or on another planet for the past decade, you owe it to yourself to BUY, not rent, these three movies. You will be so glad you did!

There is nothing else that you could ask for from a comedy movie that you dont get from this movie. It is the very highth of comedy.

Even more rude laughs are jammed into the new six minutes of the extended DUMB AND DUMBER UNRATED (New Line). This 1994 hit is about as funny as movies get and the deleted scenes, alternate endings, trailers (real and fake) and retrospective documentary are loaded with big laughs.

This is by far one of the best movies ever. If you've never seen it, buy it. If you have seen it before, you probably already have it, if not you should buy this one. In response to the user talking about "crudeness"...why would you buy an unrated version of a dvd if you don't want to see crudeness or anything of the sort. I mean really, in today's day and age you would have to hide in box to never be exposed to sex, violence, and crudeness. This is definately a must see movie for anyone who isn't easily offended.
