I was reading A LOT of the reviews and all the people who rated this album poorly, I wonder if we are listening to the same album.

Emmy Rossum's debut album not only does her voice justice but the lyrics are deep and meaningful. It is a little Imogen Heap reminiscent, but that is not a bad thing. The vocals on this album are truly astonishing, if anyone actually did research before purchasing the album everyone who was disappointed would have realized this was not meant to be a classical album. After Phantom she was offered MANY record deals to record a classical album, and she turned them down because she wanted to do something more contemporary. A goal that she accomplished.

I definitely recommend this album to anyone who enjoys music. Every track is amazing and blows me away. My personal favorite track is, Anymore.

TAKE ONE!: This is truly Emmy as we have never seen or heard. Emmy's voice is beautiful on this album though ethereal. My only criticism of this album is that it is over-mixed; and has too much background that seems to over-shadow Emmy's fanastic voice. This album truly shows Emmy beautifully both in pictures and music. It is certainly a new look and sound for her.

TAKE TWO!: The above was my initial impression of the album. I did not realize what a WORK OF ART this album actually is until I listened to it more. Emmy recorded every background voice and wrote the lyrics and the music for each. Each song is a mixture of Emmy's voice sung and mixed in such a way that one can realize Emmy's many vocal talents without detracting from any of them. "Slow Me Down," the first song on the album, has over 127 individual tracks recorded, written, sung AND mixed by Emmy. Those tracks provide the ethereal, haunting and inviting background or vocal mixture. She did the same with every song though not as many tracks. I think of this fantastic album as more a "work of art" than anythin else. Emmy's beautiful vocal and technical talent is really shown here. This album is not something most recording stars or technicians even could do! I can say nothing but "fantastic" and "Bravo." Emmy likes to call her style or genra of music in this album "Ambient Pop." AND it is truly addictive....

Emmy Rossum, who played Christine in the "Phantom of the Opera" movie, has released a debut cd. Her cd is called "Inside Out". She co-wrote all the songs on the album. Musically, it is reminiscent of Enya and Imogen Heap. If you like those types of artists, you will enjoy Emmy's album.

This cd is comparable to Enya I guess but I never really like Enya and I love Emmy Rossum. Weird. Anyways, my only complaint about this cd is that some of the songs sound really similar. I am impressed that most of the lyrics were written by Emmy. She is definitely talented. This cd is nothing like her performance in Phantom of the Opera - which I loved and that's why I bought the cd. The photos in the cd cover are stunning. I love this cd. I haven't taken it out of my cd player since it arrived. There is one song where she is singing about basically being abandoned by her father - it reminds me of someone who experienced the exact same feelings and could have written that song herself. It's really moving. My other favorites are falling which is kind of pop, slow me down and high but honestly I like every single song on the cd.

This woman proves she is just as good a singer as she is an actress.
