Having spent considerable time on the road supporting the likes of John Mayer, Maroon 5, Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band, and Kelly Clarkson (with whom he had a brief romantic fling), blue-eyed Oklahoman singer-songwriter Graham Colton has learned to hone his brand of bittersweet, coffeehouse-friendly rock from the best. Colton's second major label release, Here Right Now , deftly balances simple introspective sentiments with huge, unapologetically mainstream tunes, suggesting anything less than total radio/television/MySpace domination would be a letdown. Most the songs find him tunefully coming to grips with a broken heart, but "You Find a Way" seems like the prime contender of the set, built around searing guitars, hyperactive rhythms, and a merciless chorus: "But you find a way/To keep me hanging on/You find a way/To make everything go wrong." His education is about to pay off big-time.--Aidin Vaziri

I first Heard Graham on Ellen. Really enjoyed his melodic voice mixed with a soft rock. I like the entire CD not just one or two of the songs that you sometimes buy.

I really liked "Drive", but I feel like Colton has grown so much from that album. This one is more heart felt and filling. I felt like it was the lyrics in "Drive" were what really got me into the songs, but with "Here Right Now" it's the lyrics PLUS the sound. There are so many beautiful tracks. However, if you really like the "rough around the edges" sound that "Drive" had, you might now like this one as much. "Here Right Now" seems to be smoother sounding. It does flow really well and I think it's a big step up from the previous Band album.

I'm a huge GC fan and I'm listening to Drive as I write this and the new CD sounds a bit too common for me. Even with Tommy Walter of Abandoned Pools (another favorite of mine) pitching in the sound and even the lyrics aren't as strong as Drive. Just one guy's opinion. There's nothing even close to the searing licks on Cigarette.

I first heard of Graham Colton on the iTunes free download. The entire album is pretty darn good.

This CD is superb. Compare it to the Graham Colton Band CD and you realize immediately how far he's progressed. His voice is stronger and more certain and there is a lot more energy and thrust to the music. The music is also more interesting and rhythmic than it is on the Band CD (nothing wrong with that CD, this is just so much better), there's more beat here as well. The voice is the same clear tenor but more mature and certain. It's also a disc you can (and I do) listen to over and over. I don't want to go through each track separately but there is not one I want to skip over. This is a buy and keep.
