I bought this because I had an older Emerson model that was great for about 5 years until it died. Also because of the other 2 great reviews. Boy was I wrong! As soon as I turned it on, there was no screen. Just a horizontal line in the middle of the screen. And yes I know you can adjust the screen on the back of the machine, but that didn't do a thing. You had to tap the top of the machine to get the words to show up. You had to keep tapping the top every minute or so to get the screen to work. So I thought, alright, we can live without the screen if that's the only problem. But then the sound was so distorted and sounded terrible compared to the older Emerson model we used to have. Then after using for less than 1 hour on the first day, the next day it wouldn't even play a cd anymore. So I had to return it. I will never even look at another Emerson product again. I didn't even want to give it one star, but I had to because there isn't an option to give it zero stars! Before we ordered this one, we tried an American Idol Karaoke. That one sounded even worse than this one. I'm still looking for a good one.

This is the best karaoke machine I have found for this price. It has good quality sound, both music and mic, good quality echo and reverb. Even has a key changer. I am a voice teacher, and I actually bought this for my daugher at college. I'm picky, and it's great!

This has been a feature at many gatherings since I purchased it for my husband for Christmas. Even our 2 1/2 yr old enjoys singing along. The screen is great because it is larger than most and raised up so it can be seen from behind a group gathered around it. Great sound and the music that comes with it is a nice starter with songs for all ages.
