Pros:
-Very nice construction
-2 button system
-pleasantly diffused white light (not as large a zone as I'd prefer though)
-anti-roll barrel
-able to stand flat on end
-comes with case, batteries
-comfortable grip
-intermittent off by half-pushing button (but intermittent on would be more practical)
-convenient one-hand button switch

Cons:
-relatively large and heavy when compared to similar lights
-lack of intermittent on (see above)
-not nearly as bright as comparable Cree or Luxeon type lights
(note: Cree and Luxeon are types of high intensity LED's, Luxeon LED's are manufactured by Philips and Cree is a semiconductor company. Their bulbs can be found in a variety of products.)

The Coleman Max is 150 grams and 125 mm tall
The Coleman has intermittent on (good), but rear-mounted switch harder to operate one-handed
The "dim" modes (red, green) on the Coleman are MUCH dimmer. This can be a pro or a con, depending on your use.
I own both, and would recommend the Coleman Max

Manufactured like a tank, yet lightweight, the device is intuitive in use. No need to look at the controls to swith between the red, blue, and white modes: you can FEEL them! With its 28 super-bright LEDs (20 of which are the primary white bulbs) you won't loose your way in the dark. Plus, the 4 red and 4 blue super-bright LEDs are GREAT for night-time map and chart reading in your car, boat or airplane--with no distraction or blinding to the driver/pilot!

In short, this Smith & Wesson flashlight seems to be PERFECT for anyone seeking a top-quality illumination product at a reasonable price. With the 100,000-hour bulb life and heavy-duty construction, it seems like it will last forever! (I just wish that I was receiving a fee for this endorsement.)

Save your money, and buy something else. The quality of this product is shamefully inadequate. If you want a small, lightweight, and poor quality illuminating flashlight--this is your product. I think S&W should stick to making guns--they seem to be better at that. The light is not bright, and its illumination quality is pour. About the only thing I could think this piece of aluminum would be good for is in a vehicle. The illumination is so poor, I can't imagine using it as a trail light or even stowing it in my wetbag for kayaking. I suppose I got exactly what I paid for.

I bought this light for work where I constantly find myself in dark closets and machine rooms. This flashlight has been a great addition to my tool belt. The 20 white led's give enough illumination to compete with any other light of its size. The red and blue light function is a nice addition however in my work conditions I doubt it has much use; but they are a great addition especially since they are on a seperate switch. The light feels great in your hand and very durable. When looking for a light don't over look this flashlight, especially when it comes to the pricetag.

Performs as advertised. I keep it on a table next to our bed. The separate ON/OFF switch for the red LED is great when you want to find something without ruining your night vision.
It lights up a large part of the room in the white LED mode. For outdoor use,I have a large 6 volt flashlight where distance is an issue. In summary. it is an ideal light for the interior of your home or as a handy light to carry for use in the car or airplane.
The carrying case is well designed with a pouch for extra batteries.
