Full of nice songs, this CD by a part of the lively DC-area jazz scene is a great listen from start to finish - no need to skip around on this one. Just pop it in and enjoy the way the songs flow together, as well as the songs themselves. Highlights include "Just For You" and their cover of "Foolish Hearts", but there isn't much that stands out from the rest because the songs are all quality ones.

For your listening pleasure this current project "Urban Renewal" will delight the contemporary/urban/jazz listener.

From the first selection, you are on a musical journey of mid-tempo and up-tempo jazz arrangements with a very nice "quite-storm" type selection included in the mix. Although there are several personal favorites, this collection of arrangements are pleasurable to the listening ear througout its entirety of 12 selections.

The group "Spur of the Moment" a long-time local favorite from the Washington,DC area; has been pleasing its listening audience for years.

It is past-time that this group of super talented musicians receive recognition on a national scale. They are just that good!!

The groover "Steps To The Capital', "the opener "Food For the Dog" and the fine title song will get your head nodding to the mid-tempo grooves.
It is however the vocal tracks like the mid-tempo riff laden "Can we Get Together" and the infectious "Rain Down On Me" which capture you.
You will like also the ballad "Candle Light" and the gentle sawyer "Just For You".

I just happen to come across this cd while browsing online for smooth jazz music to purchase and all I can say is "WOW" this is how music is suppose to sound like. I have 2 favorite songs on this cd 1st 1 is Candle Light and the other is Can We Get Together both are done very well. Spur Of The Moment is a must have cd.
