Editorial Reviews and Product Descriptions

Product Description

Neil Diamond is without doubt one of the most successful solo artists and songwriters of all times, and his songs have been covered by dozens of artists. Fancy a quick tour? His song »Im a Believer« written for The Monkees and also recorded by Smash Mouth can additionally be found on the soundtrack of the hit movie »Shrek«. He wrote the number one hit »Red Red Wine« for UB40. And of course, theres »Girl, Youll be a Woman Soon«, one of the most outstanding tracks on the brilliant soundtrack of »Pulp Fiction«. His hits turned into legends, and Neil Diamond is a superstar if ever there was one. The photographer Didi Zill was lucky enough to have numerous opportunities for photo shootings with Neil Diamond at concerts, in the studio, and he was even invited to do an extensive home story on the artist. These are the sessions included: a studio session in Munich in June 1971, a tour through Texas in November 1971, a home story in December 1971, a tour of Germany in June 1972, live concerts in New York and Washington in October 1972, Düsseldorf in Germany in December 1972, Malibu in July 1973, and finally a tour of Germany in December 1974. This may well be the largest illustrated volume ever published on Neil Diamond, especially at this luxurious quality, with lots of pictures, at the format of 9.5 x 11.8 inches. The book also contains fascinating accounts by the photographer Didi Zill, detailing his encounters with Neil Diamond and the photo shootings.

Neil Diamond just keeps on going - he is one of the strongest and most fascinating stars of today's music scene, his album 12 Songs proves to yet another generation the appeal of Neil.

These photographs show Neil in his prime, during the early 70s. He just looks amazing in these shots, masculine yet sensitive. The settings are intimate, close-up, other pictures were taken live on tour, on stage, but I especially love the home stories.

This book is already gaining quite a reputation amongst the fans of Neil - get it before it's gone!
