The records reveal that the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews was established in 1754 by the Gentlemen of the Kingdom of Fife "being admired of the Ancient and healthy exercise of Golf".
This beautiful model captures in miniature the architectural features of this historic building. Each model is hand-made in England using traditional building materials and the detail is amazing, from windows and facade to the intricate wrought iron scroll work of the balcony. The model features not only the Clubhouse but also the bank and setting. This would make a perfect gift for any golf enthusiast.
This pair of bookends is one of a series of fine Architectural models made by world-renowned artist, Timothy Richards. These models are made with plaster and other traditional construction materials including lead, acid-etched brass, glass, copper and gold leaf. Each model is individually hand-made in Timothy's studio and workshop in Bath in England.
