My son got this for his 6 year old birthday and loves it. The helmet fit him fine. He loved how everything was so shiny. He wore it for several days and still carries the sword around and wears the wrist band after a couple of weeks. That says a lot about the play value. It is made of the brittle plastic, but we have had another sword made from this same stuff and the paint is a little scratched, but has never broken. A good whack from it would hurt, but we do a lot of pretend sword play around here, and haven't had a problem with it. I think the reason my son loves it so much is that it looks fairly real, as real as a plastic set can look.

Do not be tempted by the low price. I ordered 7 role playsets for a birthday party. 4 arrived damaged. The helmet is very stratched when it arrives in the box. Poor packaging both for toy and shipping. Easy to get replacements sent in time for party, if you like contact with a computer NOT a real person. Of the replacements 1 was damaged on arrival. I now have the inconvenience of shipping at least 4/5 of these playsets back. WOULD NOT ORDER AGAIN.

I originally purchased these for birthday presents for my daughters friends. They are cute, but are a little more cheaply made than I expected. For the price, they are worth it, but I am definitely going to have to find something to go with them, the playset alone is not enough. I paid $4.44 for the sets with free shipping, any more than that, and I would probably pass...

The set comes in a nice box - important if you are considering gift giving. Looks very nice in the box. The pieces are the same somewhat brittle plastic that is always used for toy swords. They will not stand up to hacking at a rock for instance, but they are fine for waving around like crazy. And they are hard enough to really hurt if your two year old gets ahold of one and starts slashing. For the five year old I purchased these for however, they are perfect. Two different sizes of swords and then the protective gear make it a nice set. The helmet is too small for children much older than five but the weapons look good enoght to entice slightly older kids. Glad I bought it, would have been worth it even at the original $12.00 price.
