My grand daughter uses her adapter at night so that she doesn't use up her batteries. I highly recommend the adapter as an accessory to the leapster.

We bought and specially labeled rechargeable batteries when we purchased out Leapster L-Max because we expected it to be a battery hog. What we didn't expect was for it to need "new" batteries every 6 hours! It was a huge pain even with the 15 minute rechargeables, so we gave in and got this little lifesaver. Now my 6yo can use her toy all she wants inside the house by plugging in, and still have her rechargeables fully ready to go for when we leave the house. This has saved us a lot of time and frustration.

The batteries in the leapster go dead very quickly so I bought this b/c it was cheaper than the charger, but the problem is that the kids need to sit next to an outlet and play with the cord pugged in. Sometimes this is inconvenoent, b/c I have to be there to set them up, as they are too young to use the electric outlets themselves. Cord works great, but I would suggest spending the extra for the charger. Also you lose your place in your game, even if you are paused, when you unplug to move to another location...not too great. Even though we use the cord, I think it is a waste of money and should have gone for the charger.

I have saved so much money on batteries. I am so glad I purchased this item. Has a long cord, it's works great!

Batteries don't last long. You need this. Its a life saver.
