Favorite body of work from VAST - Reviewed on 2008-05-03

I own all VAST's albums now, and to me by far, the Turquoise & Crimson sessions are my favorite. Turquoise & Crimson were the first VAST records from 2blossom records. The songs here were produced very well, especially when you compare the ones polished and improved from Nude. I love Crosby's first record, but I kind of wish I got this one first. It's the best blend of acoustic, electronic, rock, and orchestra music from the artist Jon Crosby and his band VAST. Highly recommended.

I just received this, and I must say, this definitely satisfies me more than the original Nude. A must-have.

This double-album is deffinetely for VAST fans, you could tell that some of the songs were already released on the Nude album thats becuase these songs on Turquoise and Crimson were originaly demos made by Jon Crosby which was only available as a download on the artist's web site. Jon Crosby has always made some great and unique music that sounds beautiful, the type of music that you could just chill out to its more like industrial goth rock or something like that, this is some very atmospheric music. There are songs like Desert garden and the epic ballad Winter in my heart that just sound incredible then theres the more rockier songs like Thrown away, I woke up in L.A. and Thats my boy these songs have alot more energy than the slower songs. At first I didn't know what to expect from this double-album but then I was not dissapointed although I thought that the first disc was alot better, I have all of the VAST albums and this is yet another great release from this one man band I highly recommend this.

I bought this CD set from Amazon without reading the track listing. The majority of the songs in this set were also in Nude. (The chronology is a bit funny -- the tracks were first released on the net, then turned into Nude, then collected again to form this set). The point is, this isn't a double set of new songs. Look before you leap.

Well, I'm a great fan of VAST, and I'm especially fond of NUDE. I promptly went to 2blossoms when I heard about this double CD, ordered it, and a year later - I HAVEN'T RECEIVED IT. I even contacted their bass player to no avail. Poor show. If you must buy this, use Amazon!
